This is a GREAT store!! The selection here on just about everything is amazing. The Deli is great! Staff is always helpful! The bakery is absolutely GREAT!! The staff working behind that counter are THE FRIENDLIEST and MOST HELPFUL ever!! They never disappoint! Plus, they keep a really good selection of prepackaged goodies on the floor always! The fresh fruit is perfection! Lots of variety. The wine selection is the best around. I can find things here that I can't find anywhere else in the area. Large variety of pretty much everything you'd want in every store in Louisiana, which of course is food and alcohol, and lots of sweet treats and right now you can go get their seasonal, freshly baked, assorted King Cakes. Fresh meats, deli with already prepared meals or sandwiches made to order daily which makes it a good place to pick up lunch and it has been Very clean every visit I've made and the staff is always polite and helpful. I started ordering all of my fruits & veggies from rouses. Everything is so much more fresh here then other markets especially Walmart. When I buy fruit n veggies from Walmart they spoil in under 3 days that's unacceptable. That's what brought me to Rouses. Once I got in there ... where do I start ... their bakery is heavenly, there deli equally as fresh as their fruits n veggies and the meat n seafood department omg fresh fresh fresh. They have the best priced boiled crawfish n tasteful plus sell all the trimmings. Can't make the drive .... No problem they will deliver to you through instacart and that includes hot boiled crawfish too. For the second time, we have ordered party trays from the bakery for an event that we are hosting, and received something other than what is advertised. For $33.99, we were supposed to receive a tray containing petit fours, fudge bites, brownie bites, and mini cupcakes. The tray we received, for $33.99, had petit fours. The rest of the tray consisted of cheap butter cookies, some of which were incompletely dipped in chocolate. I expect two things when something is ordered from somewhere: the correct order, and at the very least, something of equivalent value. I could have bought a box of butter cookies from Dollar General and crafted a sub-par tray myself, and avoided this lackluster experience altogether. If anyone is looking for a better place to go for party trays, go to Oak Point. They actually get it right. read more

This Rouse's location is fantastic!!! Why aren't all Rouse's fantastic ? The produce department is amazing and everything looks fresh and appealing. The displays are fantastic. The butcher area is great they even have aged beef they sell whole or will also just cut you off a steak. The international department is the best I've seen anywhere in Louisiana. The wine selection is like walking into a winery with all the choice you could imagine. They have not just 1 or 2 isles of wine but many isles of wine. They also carry lots of beer choices as well. The bakery and deli area is also fantastic. They have little restaurant areas like bbq, Asian and a buffet area with lots of seating inside and outside seating. Then they have a beautiful selection of live plants, herbs, vegetables, hanging ferns and flower baskets as well as potted rose bushes. I love this Rouse's. Why can't this Rouse's be in Zachary instead of Juban Crossing because this one is fantastic and the Zachary Louisiana location SUCKS! read more

Rouses Markets on the Northshore are a huge disappointment compared to the Rouses Markets in New Orleans. They advertise as carrying local products. We almost purchased a head of broccoli from China! I'm glad we noticed the sticker. We also have to keep a close eye on the meat. A package of T-bone steaks will only include the fillet on the top steak. The rest of the steaks in the pack have less than an inch of meat on the fillet side of the t-bone. Disgraceful and deceiving. And muffuletta bread? No. Muffuletta buns. What? Seriously? Also, no Italian bread and no baguettes. We expected the Rouses Markets on the Northshore to be the same as we experienced in New Orleans, but have been very disappointed. Great place !!! I love the quality healthy feel to it. We eat her a few times a week for lunch. I love the variety, from sushi to the salad bar, the hot bar, home made sandwiches or rice bowls. They seem to offer it all. The have s give wine selection and a large assortment of beers as well. During the summer we get a lot from the meat department to throw on the grill. Although I live in Baton Rouge I do my shopping with this store for two reasons. First, the food at the deli is fantastic, I love their Chicken Gumbo, and they offer a great seafood market. I purchased a cake from Rouses Bakery in Denham Springs Saturday and it was really bad. We ended up throwing the cake out. I called Monday and spoke to a Manager and was assured that the cake would be replaced for free. After work Monday 7/29/19 I drove back over to Rouses to pick up the cake. The cake was ready for me in the bakery with my name on it so I got it along with a few other things. When I got to the register I explained the situation to the cashier and he in turn got the manager. She said that they were going to charge me for the cake. I was very upset and embarrassed so I just left the cake sitting there. I have always loved this bakery and recommended them to others. I go out of my way to pick up cakes there but never again will I go through those doors. read more

Just had my 2nd terrible experience in a row. First time the rude deli lady packaged my goods in a contaminated container, that leaked some sort of nasty liquid all in my jeep , all over my food ,and all over my beer. I was told it would be replaced , but when I went in to get the goods that I paid for , I was grilled and treated like a criminal or a mooch. Humiliated me, and it was their fault. Poor poor poor. I visit Rouses every week to do my grocery shopping, during these visits everyone is very helpful and kind. However, on CHRISTMAS EVE night I ran inside to grab 2 items the doors were still open but they made it clear that they were closing soon. Instead of greeting me as usual, there were two young workers who migrated to register #1 and were giving rude looks to the few customers left in the establishment including myself. Once the time came that they hit their closing time they rudely demanding that it was time for everyone to leave since they were closed, those who did not make it to the register in time started putting their items back as well as myself because I honestly could not give my business to them with the attitude they had given. They did not shut the doors or place a sign up that they were closing early due to holiday so customers were still coming in. An elder man walked in as i was leaving and instead of nicely letting the gentleman know they were unfortunately closed the girls yelling all the way from register #1 to the door that they were closed and people need to stop coming in the door, then complained that they didn't understand how people were getting in still.... the doors were wide open.... overall very rude and unwelcoming visit especially on Christmas Eve..... read more

I love Rouses but this is the worst location. Onions are always full of bugs and moldy and tomatoes are usually moldy and bruised. I often see someone stocking but almost never anyone going through and pulling bad produce. The buggies are always kept away from the entrance so that you have to walk back into the heat to get one. Maybe once every ten times we go there are some right inside the entrance but rarely. I feel like lately they've done a better job of having more cashiers but occasionally that is a problem on the weekdays still. Overall this store stands out as having the most rotten produce and silly inconveniences especially for such a big store. I wish they would do better since there aren't many other options without driving 30+ minutes. read more

The deli here is amazing as well as the bakery. Stopped in to buy sweets for Mom's birthday and was offered to have the mini Chantilly cake made while I waited. On the way out I couldn't walk past the deli without at least looking. Bought a dinner plate of (1) meat and (2) sides for $10. Brisket, Mac and cheese, and cornbread pudding. It was amazing.
