On March 15, 2025, I had the pleasure of renting a Harley motorcycle from 101 Motorsports in San Diego and participating in a full-day guided ride of approximately 200 miles, led by the owner, Mr. Glenn Cogan. From the very beginning, my experience with 101 Motorsports was nothing short of exceptional. Communication with Mr. Cogan and the company via email was prompt, clear, and professional. Every question I had--whether regarding the rental process, the motorcycle models, or the guided tour--was answered in a timely and thorough manner, with no ambiguity or hidden details. The rental rates were also notably more affordable than those of other companies I had considered, and the condition of the motorcycles was outstanding--immaculately maintained, reliable, and free from any mechanical or cosmetic issues. Mr. Cogan's dedication to customer satisfaction became even more evident when, due to an unfavorable weather forecast, he willingly rescheduled our ride to a better day on very short notice. He did this without hesitation or obligation, showing genuine care for my experience and safety. The ride itself was unforgettable. As someone who has been riding motorcycles for decades, I had never had the chance to ride a Harley-Davidson until that day. Glenn not only ensured I was well-prepared and properly equipped (especially for the unusually cold weather), but he also guided the ride with professionalism, passion, and a deep knowledge of the area. His route took us through breathtaking landscapes and winding roads that only a local rider with years of experience could have curated. TLDR; just go ahead and book. You will be in great hands! The bike (GS1250) was great. Excellent condition: clean, full tank of gas, brand new tires, no damage. The rented gear was all good as well. That alone deserves a five-star review, but please keep reading. My experience with Glenn (the owner) started weeks before my trip. We began talking on WhatsApp, and he took genuine interest in my plans and where I was staying. He quickly realized that my central San Diego accommodation was a bad idea for my explore-all-the-nature plans. This guy really went above and beyond. Together, we searched for the perfect (but still budget-friendly!) accommodation. I felt bad for taking up his time :D but in the end, it was PERFECT: a little boutique resort right by the beach in Carlsbad. He was kind enough to pick me up from resort when I arrived, and was flexible about bike pick-up time. He gave me detailed route advice, food recommendations, which roads to ride, and what to skip. Because of him, I explored this beautiful area properly, not like a tourist guessing my way around. Thank you, Glenn, for not just renting a great bike, but for enabling the entire experience! After three days on the GS, I rented a HD Street Glide for another three days. All chrome polished and in perfect condition. Glenn didn't just hand me the keys, he gave me proper advice and a thorough orientation for my first cruiser experience - what to expect, how it feels, what's different. We had a rainy day ahead, but I was too fat for all the pants he had :D Instead of shrugging it off, he ordered multiple new pairs just to make sure I had the right fit. As someone who has never been on a motorcycle before, I had a lot of nerves about riding--especially on the open roads of Maui. But from the moment we arrived at Route 101 Motorsports, those worries began to melt away. Glenn, the owner, was absolutely incredible. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for our safety made all the difference in the world. This was my first time riding with my husband, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I can't say enough good things about Glenn and Route 101 Motorsports. Visiting from Seattle and upon our arrival, Glenn was quick to welcome us and provide us with all the gear and support we needed. Not only did 101 Motorsports provide the best price, they also offer the lowest deposit in the industry. There was no additional cost to rent gloves, helmets, and jackets ( unheard of). Glenn also gave my two kids and I a nice 101 Motorsports shirt! Although they had all kinds of options, I decided to go with their 2014 street glide. This bike was absolutely flawless!! I lost track of how many compliments I got. No one could believe it was a rental. Pics don't do it justice! We drove all the way from my mom's in Rancho San Diego (50 min drive) because the place I normally rent from didn't have the bike I usually rent. I'm so happy this happened, as this was the best experience I've had and I rent every time I travel. Glenn is truly one of the nicest, most genuine guys, you will ever meet and will make sure all your needs are met. Great customer service!!!! I was staying in downtown San Diego, and wanted to see more than downtown. I found Route 101 Motorsports on line. They are about 34 miles from where I was staying. So I was concerned on the cost of an Uber. I was able to contact Glen (one of the owners). He told me about the train that ending up costing about 10 dollars, and he picked me up at the train station. I started my rental in the afternoon because I was in town for a convention. I rode back towards SanDiego taking the the 101 along the coast until dark. When I got back to the Hotel the bike wouldn't start back up. I called Glen and he came to my hotel and he found that something had melted the lead terminals. The next morning while I was at my classes Glen brought a nicer Harley than I had to the hotel and traded them out. Things were not perfect with this rental, but I appreciate good customer service. There were also no hidden fees. The insurance was 15 dollars for me. They even threw in the leather jacket gloves an helmet. They are a class act. I highly recommend route 101 Motorsports. read more

I was able to hire a 2008 Harley FLHX Street Glide and I'll remember it for the rest of my life! Glenn was really charming and communicated a lot with me beforehand to prepare the rental. Once there, I was able to collect the bike quickly. Glenn gave me all the explanations I needed to get to grips with it, which was relatively straightforward. The bike was in excellent condition and I was able to really enjoy the region. Returning the bike was very easy and Glenn was very flexible. I particularly recommend Route Motorsports 101 for your Harley rentals, they are a very serious company with well maintained and impeccable bikes. My wife, daughter and me were visiting my son in San Diego who is studying there at UCSD. He was recommending to rent two Harley's and go for a ride. Since he has rented a bike before at Glenn's place we went of course there. It was an amazing experience because the warm and professional welcome we had on a Sunday was just great, especially because Glenn just moved the company within the business park. When I say this has been the most pleasant rental experience ever, I mean it! From the prices, to the bikes, straight down to the owner! All of the motorcycles that they have are absolutely pristine. I was visiting San Diego from the UK and after searching around for a Harley rental I was very lucky to find Glenn at Route101. From the very start he was friendly, informative and not pushy at all. He talked us through the booking procedure, came in extra early on a Saturday to allow us to get a full day on the bikes and treated us like friends. The entire process from booking the bikes online from a very distant Western Australia through an excellent pick up and admin session with Glenn at the San Diego shop was simple and seamless. The two bikes we hired were exactly as described. We travelled from Carlsbad San Diego over 8 days all the way up to Fort Bragg and back covering just over 1600 miles. Both bikes , a Victory Vision and Ducati Multi Strada never missed a beat. We shifted our hand back time and Glen accommodated the change with no issue. As an experienced rider on travel, I could not recommend a better spot to rent a motorcycle. Glenn is the best to rent from in the city of San Diego. The Street Glide was clean and in great shape! Glenn warned me about what to lookout for on my journey. The bike was able to handle all the twist and turns heading to Vegas and the cruise control was a much-needed comfort on the long straight roads. I also got a lot of compliments while traveling down the Vegas strip. What can't be said about these guys, they did everything possible to make sure my wife and I were able to enjoy the Route 101 experience! I flew in from Denver Friday night, after making a reservation online, picked up an immaculate soft tail with a couple of helmets Saturday morning. I don't normally trust just anyone when it comes to motorcycles, but the bike was in perfect condition, and I felt safe riding it. Thanks to 101 we were able to cross this off the bucket list. Had an excellent experience renting from Route 101 Motorsports. Went on a long weekend bike trip with some friends and family and 4 of us rented from here. All of the bikes were well maintained and obviously cared for. They looked great and ran fantastic. Couldn't be happier with our experience. Our motorcycle rental from Route 101 Motorsports was the highlight of our vacation. The rental process was easy -- Glenn delivered the bike right to our hotel! My boyfriend and I were on vacation in Oceanside for a week and I just couldn't resist renting a motorcycle for just a day to take a solo ride up the coast.
