Hungry for a burger on a long roadtrip, we stopped in at Mike's for a burger. Limited but decent selection of apps, bar food, sandwiches and burgers. We both had a basic burger- one with a salad, the other with a bag chips. Advertised as having " the coldest beer in town"- frosty glasses of beer on tap sure looked good! Plenty of beer ordered while we were there. Indoor and outdoor seating, (indoor old and crowded but clean). Friendly, quick service! We stopped in for lunch and a drink and really enjoyed our time at Mike's. The two ladies working were excellent at customer service. They didn't rush their interactions with us as the place got more crowded. Nice patio and the inside reminded us of a tavern we would find in Chicago. The food is great! For the amount of square footage they have for preparing food the food was superb! I had the Outlaw sandwich and my wife had the Gyro. Stopped here for lunch on our way to Leavenworth. Cool little bar with a lot of different sandwiches. We got the Cuban and outlaw. Both were delicious. The pretzel and beer cheese sauce was equally as delicious . They have a bunch of funny signs on the wall as well. This was a great lunch spot! 3.5 rounded up We're driving through Cle Elum on our way to Wenatchee and needed a stretch and lunch. Rustic hole in the wall type tavern. We liked it! No hard liquor - just beer, wine and sodas. Required ID for our "baby faced" 25 year old daughter even though we weren't drinking. That's not the norm for us - usually only needed if you're drinking - but not a problem at all. I like that they're on top of that. Randy and I shared the special which was a grilled chicken blt with a small side of potato salad. Our daughter got meatballs. The food was ok. No interesting takes on casual fair. The meatballs were like what I ate for school lunches when I was a kid so only meh. The sandwich and potato salad was about what you'd expect. What makes me round up for my review was the customer service. Both ladies - the one behind the bar as well as the one making the food - were very friendly and gave good customer service. The food wasn't bad, went in for a after work early dinner. Bartender brought me a beer after a little bit of a wait. Order the sandwich that was on special and had a second beer. All total one sandwich and two domestic canned beers. Total was $32. When I wanted to check out, it took a while. I kept asking to check out, but they were too busy. I asked one bartender and she said she couldn't check me out.She was cooking. The guy right next to me said he wanted to check out and she took her gloves off took his money and let him check out . I asked the bartender if she could go ahead and take my card and she walked by twice before she did it. There are other options in town, all better. The bartenders had no personality and no interest in interacting with a customers. After my sandwich was brought to Me. They never came back to ask how it was or to see if I needed anything. It's a small town, so what are you gonna do? Again, there are other options in town and they are all better, probably for a better price too. read more

Years ago (about 30), I remember Mike's Tavern. It was dark and uninviting to the passerby. But now, I was impressed! People were sitting outside in the little fenced in sidewalk area laughing and enjoying each other's company. Very inviting and as luck would have it, there was a small table open and waiting for us to join in the fun. The food was good! Not the typical bar food either. I had a quesadilla and my hubby had the gyro. Yummy! A group (4) stopped into Mike's for a brew while visiting Cle Elum. Free street parking can be found. Mike's is a cash only establishment. Mike's offers a couple outdoor tables in the front and a much larger outdoor seating area in the back. Mike's is following all the Covid19 safety guidelines that are currently in place: spaced tables, shower curtains between tables, max grouping of 5 people and placed hand sanitizer. The staff members were wearing the required PPE correctly. The staff was also diligently wiping areas down in order to maintain a germ free establishment. Mike's offers a nice selection of local craft beer. During our visit we all sipped on a couple beers for $5 each. The beers were served in plastic cups rather than glass pints. I'm not a fan of plastic cups. Overall, Mike's offers a safe and sanitary place to have a reasonable priced beer served by friendly staff. I look forward to stopping into Mike's the next time we're passing through Cle Elum. read more

We sat outside which was nice although traditional breeze through town made keeping the napkins on the table tough but we just ordered an extra beer to use as a weight. We always thought this place only served drinks. But it also has some really delicious food too. Mike's is super clean restaurant/pub that has delicious sandwiches, quesadillas, etc. I had the classic grinder (ham, cheese, Italian dressing, Mayo, Pepperoncinis, olives) and it was spectacular. My problem last night was the bartender. She was using the pool table when we came in, and when told we wanted to play, she said she was still using it, and one of us could play her if we wanted. She played three games while we were there and I don't know how many before that. It may be a free table but I would think it's for the paying customers, even if she was on her break. My fiancé and I just moved to Cle elum from Seattle in the last month. We didn't have super high expectations at first for the bars in town, figured they would all be dive bars. When we went into Mike's and were EXTREMELY surprised by their beer selection. Plus they actually offer really great daily specials. We got some pretty good tacos (made right up front) and then Mexican beers for $2 each. Plus our server Ashley was super friendly and made our experience that much better!
