Absolutely 5 stars for Rove Winery! This spot is a hidden gem nestled in the rolling hills of Traverse City. The location is breathtaking--expansive vineyard views, serene surroundings, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to stay all afternoon. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and offering great recommendations without any pressure. And the wine? Honestly, it exceeded all expectations--we tried both of their flights and enjoyed each of the pours and their whites were our favorite. Usually we love a good Chardonnay on a summer afternoon, but we're surprised and how much we liked their Rose, the Riesling and the top choice was their Fiona Runda. It was light, balanced and delicious. A must-visit if you're in the area. We'll definitely be back!

Fast, friendly service, very generous with the cider flight pours! The working vineyard grounds and the hilltop view are gorgeous. There was a singer/songwriter playing Friday at 5:30p in the heated tent our back. He was very talented. Good stop in TC. Would definitely come back.

Cute place, we dropped by here for wine today. Tastings are $14 and you get to choose 5 small glasses of wine, which was pretty good. My favorite was the Pinot Noir but the cherry cider was also good. Wine by the glass was also reasonable, like $7+. We enjoyed some of that on the patio - if you're doing a tasting, it has to be done indoors so the (bartendress?) can serve you. The staff there was very knowledgeable about the wine, too, and even suggested another nearby winery for us nearby, which we headed to after. The building seemed new and was very pretty, and they also have food, NA beverages, and chocolate for purchase.

Take the gravel drive to the top of a hill if you want a beautiful sunset experience. We arrived on a Friday and there was a live music. We ordered a preselected flight. They accept cash or credit. I had the enthusiast wine flight and my husband had the cider flight. There was some food to select but they were out of a meat and cheese option my husband inquired about. We ended up getting the garlic artichoke spread and crackers. Found ourselves a seat on the deck in the back and quickly learned the table was wiggly; so the balance game of cheese board and wine flight was interesting. Unfortunately it wasn't a table leg issue it was a base issue and since there were no other available tables we took it. Made for an eventful drinking and eating experience anyway. We were approached by a women that let us know she was selling flowers on the other side of the building. I love fresh flowers so I grabbed some cash and put together a beautiful bouquet. We stayed to watch the sunset and the band played until 8pm. Beautiful evening to be out in it.

Wine Slushy

Okay, I'll be the first to admit, wine isn't my thing, but that's why the almighty created the wine slushy! This was the only place out of 7-12 wine establishments visited to offer a wine slushy! Wonderful outdoor seating, awesome event tent with radiant heaters! Great service and superb tasting slushies! #sloshedonslushies.... (P.S. drink responsibly)

Great service! Wonderful ambiance and beautiful views of the surrounding vineyard. Glad we stopped to check it out.

Amazing experience! Stopped by on our way to Traverse City and were cordially received, pleasantly surprised by wines, we literally liked almost all we tried. Such a gem from wines, to views, to people and service!

Beautiful winery! Not a big wine gal but I found their white wines to be quite enjoyable. Loved their spacious patio - we came at a time with not many people there and got to snag some cute pics!

The winery was gorgeous! The wine was light, and delicious. This is a great place to chill and share a bottle. It's about $10/glass, and a great big open space to sit and look out at the grape vines.

View is good, but only one cider and it's midddd although this is a wine place aka a winery so such is life lol View is great though!

View from the patio at sunset

One of the most beautiful vineyards I was fortunate to visit while in Traverse City. There is a patio that looks out to the sunset over the vines, and they played live music for all to enjoy. I tried a few of the homemade chocolates form inside, and they were a terrific pairing for the wine. When I went, it was setup so that there was a long table with wines under an outdoor pavilion, and there wasn't a large selection. So, that was different, but it was towards the end of the evening, so that could have been why. Overall, wonderful experience with the music, sunset, patio, and drinks. The vineyard was beautiful to walk into and take pictures as well.

Beautiful views, great chartreuse board...

Five stars for the beautiful view and great service. I was a little underwhelmed with the Rove chartreuse board. Triscuits in a plastic to go box... I loved the olives and the fig jam but the meat and cheese offerings were just ok. Our wine sampling was also ok, I opted for the red and white combo but switched to Riesling from the Chardonnay. There is $1 up charge for any changes. Riesling was my favorite here so I was happy with that decision. Normally not a big deal but its not a reserve bottle or anything special so the charge just does not make sense. The Cab they poured was way too young and the Rose bland. We also got reprimended for walking down to the vineyard to take a picture. If thats your rule its understandable but a sign would be much better than chasing us down.

Charcuterie with a couple of glasses of wine
Lisa S.

The Rove winery is a must stop just for the views itself. The wine is good also although I was disappointed that several of the ones I wanted to taste were out of stock. We still enjoyed a nice charcuterie tray with a couple glasses of wine on the terrace overlooking some beautiful views. I'd like to come back when they have live music in the evening and watch the sun set from here. I imagine it would be gorgeous.

Stopped in to explore the venue. Had a $12 glass of Merlot. Found it to be tasteless and watery.

I usually prefer tea bags; lecture me until my ears fall off but for I'm usually fine with sacrificing tea quality for the simplicity and convenience of a teabag. Light of Day teas, however, make me a believer in the magic of carefully blended, high quality tea. I used the Creamy Earl Grey tea to bribe myself to do the most mind-numbingly dense readings for my grad school courses, or for simply getting up and dressed for class on a grey winter morning. It's a true treat, and worth the high price. In addition to being absolutely delicious (black or with milk, sweetened or unsweetened), the tea and nearly all of the ingredients were grown at the Light of Day farm, which is certified biodynamic and right here in Michigan! Having originally tasted and fallen in love with Light of Day teas served on campus at the University of Michigan School of Public Health cafe, my friends and I made sure to visit the store during a trip up north. We felt like (grown) kids in a (healthy) candy shop -- there were so many kinds of tea, and they all sounded amazing! We all bought tins of tea for ourselves and as holiday gifts for friends/relatives, and also had a round of matcha shots, which were delicious. We strolled around the garden near the shop, but in warmer weather be sure to see the farm!
