So we finally did it. I was definitely intentional about not piercing my baby's ears too early. I always felt like I never wanted to put my children through any type of pain they couldn't explain to me what the feeling or hurt was. So I knew when she got to age 5, I would feel comfortable with the piercing negotiations. She's been begging for earrings since she could talk, wearing paper clips, and clip-ons LOL for so long now. We finally had the big girl talk and I explained the whole process and how or what the pain level would possibly be. Once I felt sure that she understood and could handle the situation at hand. I jumped off the porch and said let's go baby. I called up her pediatrician and lo and behold they don't pierce ears. I was a little setback because I knew I wasn't going to some mall to get her ears pierced. I wanted to be somewhere that was focused on care and cleanliness. I found Rowan on magazine and it was everything and a little bit more. The fact that you had registered nurses to help you through the entire process. Along with a a bright airy open space, real gold earrings to start with. This place was checking off a lot of my wish list so I set the appointment. A surprising extra, the team is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have later on in the healing process. You get a cleaning spray and a little bag of goodies and I mean what more could a over obsessive mother ask for. A definite 100 in my book. Please check them out for your children's piercings, adult piercings, or just a little lagniappe. read more

I had a great experience at Rowan! My friend got her second lobe piercing, and I got a helix piercing. We were walk-ins and were helped almost immediately, which made the whole process quick and convenient. My helix piercing was $35 plus the cost of the earring I chose, which was $65. The staff was friendly, professional, and made us feel comfortable throughout the appointment. My piercing is healing really well so far, and I'm happy with the results. The only downside was at checkout. A $20 cleaning solution was added to my purchase without asking if I wanted it first. I would have appreciated being given the option before it was included. Overall, it was still a positive experience, and I'd definitely consider coming back for another piercing. read more

I have read a few Yelpers giving it rave reviews. I honestly can say I will need to give an honest review and experience. I went into this location recently and had a really bad experience there. The two women who worked there were just the worst! The piercer who did my piercing was in a rush, really not personable or friendly. I would not recommend this location of Rowan to anyone! I honestly don't know what these two people's rush was the store was closing in like 3 hours. I found them to be quite racist as well. read more

Pros: super clean and cute, great jewelry selection and ability to schedule online. The actual piercing is relatively painless. The piercings look super cute and I'm happy with the overall look. (I got Third piercing on both ears and a Tiger bite or something like that- two piercings in cartilage). Cons: I showed up on a Tuesday at 11:11 for my 11:15 appointment. The first customer was a difficult client and made my RN mark her piercings at least 10 times (no joke - ears are siblings not twins!). Her appointment took at least 45 minutes for a double piercing. There was another client with a 11:30 appointment & RN said she needed to take her because it was a first come first serve. Why have appointments then? By the time I was seen it was 12:10 and finished by 12:30. I was on a time crunch because I was going back to SF later. My RN was very nice and took time to figure out what would look good. She was easily overwhelmed working solo. I love my whole look - she's clearly new to this and naturally good so I don't doubt she will improve once her confidence is boosted after some time. Suggestions: 15 minutes isn't long enough for each appointment unless you have another staff person going over the "how this works", jewelry and follow up care. Don't have appointments unless you can honor the time. I loathe waiting more than 10 minutes for my scheduled appointment. This is a new establishment so there will be a learning curve so I hope when I visit next time in August I can update this review to 5 stars. read more

My sister and I came by today to add in some ear piercings. We had an appointment set for 3 PM based on our tentative tasks on the South Shore for the day, but wrapped up early. We came by at 1:30 PM and the woman at the cash register kindly bumped us up to 1:45 PM. We picked out some simple 14K gold studs, and we got our piercings done. Quick and easy! The place is very clean and the staff is friendly but I wouldn't recommend. I went there in the first place and asked for "real gold huggie hoops that would stay gold and I could wear forever". They sold me a pair that were like $120 and told me they were solid gold. When they faded to silver after like a month I looked them up on the website and turns out they're literally gold plated sterling silver. But one did break after like a week and they replaced it for me so it was fine. My main issue is that I got my conch pierced there in September of 22. It was the hardest to heal piercing I've ever gotten. When I called to let them know it was giving me trouble after 5.5 months they were so great on the phone. They told me to come in so they could look at it and they would make it right. But when I got there all they did tell me that it was extremely crooked and may never heal right and changed the post to a longer post as a "last ditch effort to see how it would heal". I was a little surprised that they made me pay for the longer post after telling me all about how bad their employee (at the time-they no longer work there) did on my piercing and how they should've used a longer post to begin with due to my ear anatomy. They reassured me that it wasn't my fault yet they still made me pay for a longer post. I thought they would've covered it since they had replaced my broken hoop before. But it's fine. I met with a APP certified piercer in the area who told me they have had horrible experiences trying to fix their piercings. They know the place. They know their work isn't good. That should say enough. I wish I would've known we had another APP certified place in the city or I never would've gone here. Lesson learned. Waste of money. read more

Had my second hole pierced here by Nurse Melanie! She was so sweet and the experience was painless. Great jewelry selection too! I ended up leaving with several pairs of new earrings to wear once my piercing healed. The studio was so beautiful and clean! I would absolutely feel safe bringing my daughter to get pierced here when the time comes. I also love that all the piercings are done by licensed nurses who have knowledge/training about the anatomy and the healing process. Will be back again soon! read more
