It may be a little run down but this was absolutely the best place ever!!! my grandpa was committed for rehab there and the nurse found pneumonia that the doctors couldn't. Amazing! then a couple years later, my grandpa was sadly on hospice. he was committed here, and the nurses were the most friendliest and welcoming people ever. They took such good care of my grandpa and made accommodations for my family to stay later..their care was honestly so much better than we could ever ask for. My Aunt was here for rehab after her stroke in the summer of 2025.The rehab department was great so were a lot of the CNA's &Nurses.Although some not so great. The owner and his son run a crooked shady business.Trying to get my Aunts social security # to get her on medical even though we told them we already tried & she didn't qualify.they wanted her to give up her apartment so that she could stay at the Rowland and pay them instead.She was harassed for her info from the Nurse Manager also after she was asked not to.then when confronted she lied & said my Aunt was making up lies.The insurance company reps would go into her PT/OT therapy trying to get her income info and was telling her she was ready to go home even though she couldn't even wipe herself yet. My Aunt felt harassed & asked for them to not interrupt her therapy time.They ignored her and kept doing it.the owner would come by & hug her & grab her hand after the complaints started.he kept doing it even though my aunt asked for him not to touch her.she felt very vulnerable especially since she couldn't move her left side well &couldn't move her left hand at all.We finally had to get an ombudsman & In a meeting w/several people the owner said that he would not stop hugging my aunt because that's what he does. Now this all happened even with family present on a daily basis.I could only imagine what would have happened if we weren't always there. There was also a constant ant problem in her room.I could go on longer with instances of neglect from those not so great CNA's/nurses but this already has my blood boiling again. read more

I went to the Rowland for 97 days of PT after having a stroke. THE OWNER ADMIN team of Tony and Gabe could not have been kinder or more supportive. Met some terrific nurses and aides. Arnold, Martin, Sandra, Dee, Beth, Hardy, RJ,Robert, Modesto Just to name a few. BUT the real stars of this facility are in the PT department, headed by Anthony, Andrea Brian and Joseph. Quality care from several CNA's (Beth, Kat, Carla, Jonah, Matilda, Liz, Francis) and Arnold too. Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy excellent. First time in a convalescent skilled facility and I am very thankful to the Rowland Home. Meals were very good and the ownership truly cares for the patients. Transportation for Doctors appointments excellent. I highly recommend this facility if care is needed. read more

I just came home from a month and a half here at Rowland Convalescent Hospital it was an amazing experience all the staff is very professional and very attentive, my recovery is awesome from two broken legs with a plate and screws in my ankle to two steel rods in my other leg ,I am now walking with a walker and a cane. I can't say enough about the Physical Therapy team who worked with me to be able to bend my legs and eventually walk and more to come but I have a great head start considering I was originally told it may take 6 months to to stand much less walk .The hospital is a very clean place and the food is very good . This nursing home , I was working almost 4 years as a speech language pathologist, even not taking single day time off. I took 4 days time off during Christmas time to travel out of state. I used give them invoice end of the month, as I was independent contractor. I remember that they didn't pay me for the month of November for ST evaluation and Tx. I used to travel from Corona to Covina to help them as building got Kiser contract. I used call patients family from my home, that time is not by the building. If any speech pathologist is working and helping this building, they are going to do same to you. Don't help this building and stay away those building who is not giving importance of your hard work. This is a first review I am writing regarding this employer as I lost my whole month of pay and my time and money. I had plenty of job opportunities but I was helping this building consistently as my opinion as a healthcare professional you should loyal to your patients however, now a days I am seeing now a days, nursing home owner they are loyal towards maximum profit first than patients care. My Dad was at Rowland for a short time, He was an advanced hospice patient. Everyone we had contact with at Rowland was so attentive, caring, thoughtful and made it a priority to keep my dad in a comfortable state. Our evening Nurse was Malou, and she was amazing, she explained my dad's care thoroughly before leaving her shift. Other care givers that were just as amazing were, Francia, Veronica, Cinthia, and Javier the Janitor that would come in from time to time to make sure the room was clean and stocked with everything that was needed for the day. This facility is privately owned, and I understand the owner Tony is there every day (although I did not have a chance to meet him) and is very much involved with all the care his patient's needs. The owner of this facility Anthony Kalomas was trying to take my Aunt's home. Unfortunately I didn't knkw my Aunt was in his care. While she was in the facility he paid some taxes on her home. Does this type of facility do things like this for their patients? Maybe they do when they think they have no living relatives and could possibly keep the home for themselves. Anthony is also a real estate agent. So I'm assuming he thought he would take her home and sell it and keep the money. He also is claiming 192k dollars to Department of Health Care Services that he paid for her care. My Aunt worked her whole life so I know she would be getting social security and Medicare. Where did all that go? I'm looking for any other family members who have experienced any type of wrong doings from the facility or from Anthony himself. I have more to this story but just trying to reach out to others who have also been mistreated, lied to and cheated. read more

WARNING!!! If you want your parent to die sooner place him/her in this convalescent home. I spoke to my mother on 09/13/20. She said she lost 10 Lbs and had diarrhea she was only there less then 3 weeks. She was admitted to ER on 9/14/20. I spoke with my mother 2.5 hours before she past away on 09/15/2020 at San Dimas Community Hospital she was poorly treated there. I will write a review about that facility. When my sister picked up my mothers property at Rowland Convalescent Hospital. The staff took her wallet, her money and all belongings inside her purse and replaced the contents with trash (old lemons and napkins etc) inside her purse. All her valuable jewelry was gone. There were other items missing as well. A male staff maintenance worker befriended my mother. she was giving him money the entire stay. My mother tested negative for Covid. She was very sad when I spoke with her on 09/13/20. They would not let her out of her room. She said many of residents were dying of covid more doors were being covered with red tape and getting closer to her room but she wanted to see a certain maintenance worker. I wish my mother would have never stayed in the Rowland Convalescent. She was not being fed well and medicated for the pain in her legs causing the stress in heart (cause of her death) . She kept returning to the hospital to see the maintenance worker that befriended her. This death trap did not offer(an option to purchase) a complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) materials so that we could seat with my mother that was negative for covid. DO NOT BRING YOUR PARENTS HERE. Also a female staff member was selling food to my mother and keeping an entire $20.00 for 2 or 3 Quesadillas. Why would you sell anything to financially struggling senior citizens. read more

Staff was attentive, from the cna to the nurses to social work. If your family member is acutely ill and needs higher level of care and not JUST PT/OT, then this isn't the place (isn't that obvious?) This place is absolutely DISGUSTING. We had my grandfather here for less than a week. We had pressed a button to get assistance for him to use the restroom the lady came in to help and kept rolling her eyes cause she needed to get a bed pan. There were only two workers I came into contact with that actually seemed to care. They will leave you waiting for assistance for 15-30 minutes. We were standing in the hall and they had a chair to help them use the restroom easier and there was fecal matter all over it. Just sitting in the middle of the hall for over two days. I absolutely Hate this place. My great grandmother was here for a week after she broke her hip. The staff is not friendly. If a patient pressed their red "emergency" button it can take 10-20 minutes for someone to come in and check. I spent all day everyday with my grandmother and the only time staff walk in the room was when bringing a food tray, physical therapy or to give medicine. They did a poor job of coming in throughout the day to check on my grandmother or to even change her diaper unless I repeatedly bugged them about it. This has got to be the worst place. Mom was there fir 4 days. When we picked her up we could tell she had been drugged. Brought her home and could not get her to eat or hold her head up. She wanted to talk but couldn't. When putting her to bed she had bruises all over face, neck and shoulders. She ended up passing away that night. read more

If I could give it a zero, I would. My grandfather died here.. without dignity and without people that were willing to do their jobs to the best of their ability. Most unprofessional staff I've ever seen. As someone who is studying to be in the medical field I hope to never have to work in a place that is filled with jaded staff members that are not caring towards their patients. Geriatric care is one of the most important fields. These people are entrusting this place to care for the people they love most and they are failing miserably. I feel the residents are very happy here. The staff is almost an extended family to the residents. The food is good. My great grandmother lived here and she was very involved with the activities and the family was always felt comfortable visiting her. They have alot of entertainment and the bingo atteacts alot of residents. They even have elvis and a clown once in a while. I love the fact that it is a family run business, and everyone that call him or herself part of the family, has enough compassion for the whole world.. Another star in the Rowlands that is that they bring in world class entertainment,(from Broadway ) even so the patients hear top notch talent.Is the staff perfect, not by any means. Do they care? hell yes.. Is the food of Mastros quality. Almost sometimes........but the important thing is that they care and will make any effort to make something better. First of all , I have been a nurse for more than 10 years and my mother had to be placed here. Beware of the nurse Mariella. She works on the PM shift. Her medicine cart was not only filthy, she had food on her cart. That is just in sanitary. I over heard her talking and she was trying to get other nurses in trouble cause they were on her list, that to me is highly unprofessional. She is suppose to be taking care of my mother but she's there talking to other nurses saying she's gonna get them in trouble. This really needs to be reported. Some CNAs are really good with my mother , and I appreciate all that they do. read more

The employees at Rowland are truly angels of mercy. The love and care they showed my father and me in his last two weeks was amazing. Annabelle's "crew" are caring, kind people, serving in all areas, from charge nurses to nurses' aides. It is easy for people to find faults with care facilities when they are in an emotional situation, and there is fault in everything around us, but I do have to say, that for me, they were the best possible. There is so much bad out there that we hear about care homes, but this was not the case at the Rowland. I thank our family doctor for referring us there. read more
