The absolute worse - this is "One Flew Over The Coocoo's Nest". Checked in voluntarily at Huntington Hospital for a nervous breakdown due to my bank account being hacked a 3rd time in 2 months & realizing I had lost all my money! I was transferred to Glendora & no one told me I was placed on locked down in a psych unit. Good luck trying to convince anyone you are no insane when all around you truly are! Threatened to be kept on an extended hold. This was one of the worst experiences in my lifetime. This hospital is abusing people, the system of Medicare & Medical - horrible. read more

This has been, without question, the worst facility our family has ever dealt with. From the moment we visited, the environment felt off ...the atmosphere, the staff interactions, and the overall vibe immediately raised concerns. Unfortunately, our experience only got worse from there. During my mother's stay, she developed a rare bacterial infection that led to pneumonia, something we believe occurred while she was in their care. On top of that, she was given Seroquel at 8 AM -- a medication that, in our experience and understanding, is typically administered at night due to its sedating effects. When staff eventually found her, she was unresponsive and had to be rushed to a nearby emergency room. We later found out that they had misplaced some of her belongings, including her dentures, yes they lost her dentures. How, I do not know. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of communication. When I called the hospital, simply trying to understand what happened while she was under their care, I was hung up on. None of my calls or messages were returned. The disregard for transparency and basic compassion was shocking. Instead of helping her heal or supporting her recovery, this facility made our situation significantly worse. What was already a difficult time for our family was made traumatic by the level of care my mother received. We deeply regret trusting this hospital with her wellbeing. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Glendora Hospital to anyone seeking responsible, compassionate, or competent care. read more

I was originally located at Ocean view Hospital in Long Beach but I was 5150 by staff bc they thought necessary. By the end of the weekend i was transferred to Glendora(unfortunately). I HAD TO STICK UP FOR MYSELF IN WAYS NO PATIENT SHOULD BE EXPECTED TO. IF YOU ASKED ME A YEAR AGO TO NAME DROP THE PEOPLE WHO DID ME DIRTY, I would never. But I'm not being silenced by the system anymore. My stay here helped in a way where I was horriblY traumatized by staff who let their personal lives and opinions affect the way they work their job AND IT MAKES ME STRONGER BY NOT SHUTTING UP BC I DEMAND CHANGE. PROTOCOL NEEDS HEAVY REVIEW AND CHANGE. ALSOOOOO THE FOOD WAS SHIIIIIIIIT. I felt very VERY often my needs were unmet unless I bugged the hell out of them which was dehumanizing in its own way. Bc why should I ask multiple nurses to fill my water(in an extremely polite way every single time bc If not I wouldn't even get the chance to make eye contact with them), to take a shower, to talk to someone, even for my discharge time. My original time of leaving, 11:00 AM was unknowingly delayed till about 12:10 PM. I am not one to take time delays lightly especially in a place where I needed to isolate myself from irresponsibility in nurses. I took the last 10 minutes of my stay to write a paper complaint in hopes it'll reach someone of importance quickly. not to mention the water in both showers isn't up to code bc it doesn't go from cold to hot. It's only HOT. Like fire from hell hot. How are we supposed to care for our physical and mental health facility preached to protect our needs when I don't want to risk getting burns from that water. Please call your loved ones here. They need it. I wasn't expecting Hilton treatment but there is no getting better in here, it's a place of pain. I would give this place less than a 0. Although I was not a patient there, I am an individual who suffers from complex post-traumatic stress syndrome, generalized anxiety and severe panic attacks along with multiple other physical disabilities. One being a urological disability, I walked into the lobby and went to use the bathroom in the lobby because I Was ready to have an accident and the woman behind the receptionist desk told me it was a private hospital and I could not use their restroom. I turned and told her I have a medical condition as I explain my medical condition.A man walked out from the back, a big tall man, that looked very scary and he began to ask me, why didn't I use the bathroom before I left home and where was I coming from? And this was a private hospital, and he basically berated me and treated me in a cold callous disregard, as if I wasn't a human being. I turned around and walked in the restroom and when I came out, he was also recording me because I was recording him, he violated my Ada. Rights And he told me he wasn't the one as he followed me out and I was having a severe anxiety attack, shaking very bad and he said, oh, why don't you just take yourself to the emergency room and really scared me and I told him if this is the way you treat a person who comes. In in need of the restroom That's in the lobby. I'm scared to think of that superiority and abusive authoritarian attitude that you have towards patients that are in this psychiatric hospital. Because he said this is a psychiatric hospital. I said, then you should understand if a person is having an anxiety attack, they're going to shake etc and He taunted me and I said, I feel sorry for whoever he has to work with as far as patients because I can tell you one thing I can almost guarantee you that man. Is not kind, compassionate or understanding with his patients. It's very sad to see an individual like that. Working with psychiatric patients that need help and assistance with mental health issues. Every time I try to call to speak to my loved one, I have to call no less than 10 times (not exaggerating) before I get through. Tonight, I have been calling since 6:40pm. Not recommended. Behavioral Unit: Rooms: Stained sheets, lack of soap and running water in each room to ensure ailments including covid do not spread. Expect to repeatedly ask for toilet paper, and paper towels when needed. Staffing & Nurse's Station: Potentially short-staffed. Kept patients off critical medications for 5+ days though help was sought out. Employees working the nurse's station have insisted they relay critical information concerning the patient's well being to their team of specialists, yet no action is taken to reflect those lines of communication. Rather, employees insist they "send a text," to the specialists and "wait for a response." Though employees answering the phone's at nurse's stations claim to be certified nurses, these receptionists centralized within the behavioral unit have routinely voided their sense of responsibility to the patient by willingly writing off patients with 'busy, come back later' responses. Women experiencing menstrual cramps also waited more than 24 hours for pain relief medication. Specialists: Acknowledgment of doctors, psychiatrist, and social workers presence is not extended to the patients. Therefore, if you are not lucid enough, nor cognizant enough to ask to see them (as SW Elizabeth, Dr. Concepcion Mangasep, and more will routinely go days without seeing their patients), you, or the patient, probably won't. One visit with a specialist can be expected to last up to 1 - 2 minutes. Even observed- a doctor insisting a patient "stay down," (in her bed where she was asleep) while he gave her his verdict of treatment without her insight or intelligible consent. In turn, with the lack of attention given by the care team, one can anticipate their costly stay to lengthen as they so easily rule for extensions without intelligible explanation. Overall: The objective and mission as stated on their website does not align with how they execute. Unethical work behaviors across the board have been in place for the last 9+ months. The doctors and staff for the most part. We're really good with my daughter in time of crisis. They did take good care of her and give her her medications when she needed them. I'm writing this review to let you know that if a loved one comes to this facility for psychiatric help keep all of their precious valuables away from this place! During the intake process my daughter had on all her gold jewelry and silver. She couldn't take it off because she was transported as a 5150. She had on three very expensive gold chains along with three charms. All chains were not given back. Only two of the charms that had been on those chains. Very expensive. Emerald and diamond pendant also was stolen. We know that this was on her person at the time of intake. My daughter no longer is there and in 3 days later I am still dealing with this issue. I have called left messages and been told that I was going to get called backs and to know avail. These items were to be kept in a safe. I just keep getting the runaround. Upon her leaving she did not get a copy of the intake report as she should have when she left. I was also a package that they claim never was received by Amazon. Amazon did send me a receipt saying they hand delivered it so I had to resend it. She got that one. Again, please do not have anything valuable on your person when you come here. They'll take pretty good care of you but not of your belongings. We know these items were stolen. Everyone saw her including family and officers that had been called on the scene when they picked her up. So far 3 days later nothing is being done. Horrible to get through, I ended up speaking to a supervisor that assured me, the rooms have a phone in them. That is incorrect no phone. Can't reach my loved one. And you have to make an appt to visit. Are they trying to hide something? There should be no reason why you can't show up during visiting hours!!!!!! read more

The rooms have several vertical blinds missing from rooms on the first floor. The patients by the window do not have privacy because people can look in. This is an easy fix. I am very surprised something like this has been overlooked. I talked to the supervisor and tomorrow I am going to talk to someone else in admin. read more

FYI Reviews prior to Oct 2020 is from the prior hospital (Glendora Community Hospital). This new behavioral health hospital will be delivering a fresh start to the old community hospital and offering different services then before. We need to embrace this new change. We need more of these hospital that in the Reagan years were all closed down. Instead mental health patients that need inpatient care end up on the streets and later in crowded prisons and jail. This community hospital is an amazing hospital, their staff is very professional and very kind and caring. I took my mom there and we didn't have to wait at all to be seen. My mom was able to lay down on a bed and all the needed tests were performed on her. Everyone did an outstanding job. The nurses were very sweet and the doctor was very attentive. They made sure my mom's blood pressure and heart beat were stable before sending her home. The following day, my mom got a call from them asking how she was doing, if she had eaten, if she had taken the prescribed medicine.... just taking that time to check on their patients means the world to us. My mom and I are very grateful of this hospital, and the fact that is so close to home, brings us peace of mind. read more

I visited Glendora January 31st unable to swallow turns out that a pill was stuck and had perforated esophagus. Dr. Martello was the attending ER doctor she was just wonderful helping me with my needs the staff was also great I was in their ER for like 10hours they worked with my insurance they got me transferred to an excellent Hospital with excellent Dr.s Dr.Martello followed up with me almost everyday with while I was in the hospital I never had any Dr.show that much concern about me not even my own general practitioner was concerned. I'm now looking for a new doctor but really wish that Doctor Martello could be my doctor but I know it's not possible I now have a few great people helping me in my search. Rushed over to find my father who's been admitted by his current wife since who knows when and I get told "Call back tomorrow our visiting hours ended 2 min ago ". I had never heard of this hospital, I was referred to this hospital because it was the closest one to my house. I had a really bad medical emergency and was needed to be seen asap. Service was quick. My aunt rushed my mom to the ER monday night because she had a hard time breathing.. as soon as theyve arrived theyve checked my mom and did an X-ray. So when the x ray result came out they found something on her throat and they've decided to admit her so the GI doctor can check her and will do an endoscopy the next day. Now Tuesday morning she already in a dextrose coz shes not allowed to eat because they will do an endoscopy to check her throat. Tuesday afternoon, i called my mom and asked if the Gi doctor came already, my mom said that the hospital will DC her same day and the Gi doctor didnt check her. This is what really pissed me off... they gave her antibiotic, w/o explaining what is that for, they didnt explained to her about the thing that they found on her throat, they didnt let her eat the whole day thinking that she will have an endoscopy, they just told her to go home and follow up with her Pcp to check her throat! Im so disappointed. What kind if a hospital is this? You cant just DC a patient w/o explaining her condition, what if something happened to my mom? This hospital SHOULD BE CLOSED! They dont know how to take care if their patient. read more

I went here because I was having lower back pain and an infected ingrown toenail. They did a urine sample because I asked them to and they did. They said my urine was normal. They didn't even clean my toe or bandage it up yet alone look at it. He said he couldn't remove the ingrown nail. He prescribed keflex and said even if I did have a UTI the keflex should take care of that as well as my foot. Almost a week later I have to go back to my primary dr because my back pain is getting unbearable. They found blood in my urine and that I had a bladder infection this whole time even though Glendora said I didn't and that they did a urine test. Wow! That it hopefully didn't go to my kidneys. If I dont get better with cipro to go to ER. They also said the keflex wouldn't treat the bladder infection like the Dr at Glendora said. I received the worse service here. If I didn't go to my primary dr I would've ended up in ER. They are not only negligent but I'll never return to this place again. They didn't help me at all not only that I have to be sick longer because they didn't look into why my back was hurting. read more

Ive come to this hospital twice, and those two times its been nothing but good service for me. they have helped me. from walking through that door, to laying in a bed. to leaving the ER. i love this hospital. The second time i went in, was because i was having a migraine and an anxiety attack and i was having seizure like symptoms. they helped calm me and they had me stable for the rest of the night. i have never felt so welcomed and cared for. i love this place and i will definitely be going back if i ever have something wrong with me. read more

I wish 0 stars was an option my father was tied down and due to his alzheimer's disease he was complaining of laying on a rock we dismissed it due to his disease however we lifted him up and found the ekg monitor under his back for days creating a sore when we told the nurse Norma his RN she was mean and unapologetic also a Dr Antil called me to tell me that they needed to reverse my father's colostomy bag and needed my permission I told him my Dad doesn't have a colostomy bag he then yelled at me and said "Don't you know who your father is" then a nurse told him that he was calling the wrong patients family member he just said never mind and hung up I will be following up with the Hospital Administrator. My mother went in the ER on Sunday for weakness and shortness of breath. She received thorough checkup and tests recommended by Dr. Martello. She was very compassionate with a very pleasant bed side manner which is so important for patients and families while there. Dr. Martello confirmed pneumonia in my mother and assured her she will be taken care of and made all the proper arrangements to get her admitted to get treatment right away. Honestly don't know how this is a "hospital" and don't even know where to start. The place is dirty and rundown. The customer service was horrible and the "hospital" staff had no bedside manners. The nurse was eating a cookie as she was assisting us and then continued to argue with another RN regarding who's going to help dress my wound. The bathroom was disgusting, with the door wide open, right next to the emergency treatment rooms. The staff was openly discussing other patients, which is a huge Hipaa violation. We were there for 2 hours for a "treatment" which should have taken 20 minutes. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. read more

Trying to see a loved one while he is a patient at the hospital and they refused to let me see him in his room and said we could stand out in the hall and visit. When asked if there was a room we could sit in with him (rec room, dining room, etc) we were told no. Ended up leaving in tears and unable to see our loved one. This place doesn't even deserve any stars! I went to the ER at 3am one morning early this month; unfortunately I really thought something was wrong with me, a reason for a person to go to the ER. I checked in and the nurse was so mean and rude! No compassion what so ever! The moment she stated "Do you think this is even a real emergency" made want to turn and go the other direction. I did not want to stay. They made me feel unwanted and uncomfortable. I've never experienced this in my life! The doctor did absolutely nothing for me! I felt like crap the moment the nurse started to talk to me. By the time the doctor came to see me, he too stared to treat me like nothing could possibly be wrong. He said I was fine. And made me feel as if I was an inconvenience to them as if they had something much better to do. I was clearly the only patient in that night. I started to cry with the doctor standing there looking at me like I am crazy! I now have a $700 bill from the hospital that did absolutely nothing for me. If you like to be treated like crap this is the place! Don't even bother calling the administrators they won't call you back either. read more
