Do not come here. Brought jeans in to get hemmed and was never asked if I wanted to keep the original hem. Typically all seamstress' keep the original hem. They did the worst hem job, looks so unnatural and cheap looking. Wouldn't do anything to fix and said it was my fault. read more

I came to Roxie's in a pinch, as my usual dry cleaners (Main Street in Seal Beach which is amazing) is closed on Monday's and I needed some clothes back by Thursday for a trip. The "dry cleaned" clothes I picked up this morning, upon inspection were not cleaned at all. I think they left my clothes sitting on a hanger all week and steamed it. My clothes still smell dirty and have stains. I feel violated and robbed. It's an awful feeling when you trust an establishment to provide a service, and they completely fail to provide that service. Not only fail, but intentionally deceive their customer. I paid $58 for 4 dresses and 2 blouses to be cleaned, and none of them are usable for my trip. I'll have to get them dry cleaned again when I return. As a life long resident of Long Beach, I'll make sure to avoid this place like the plague and tell all of my friends and family to not give this place a dime. Horrible horrible experience. read more

This place was probably once ran by a law abiding citizen with manners. Well let me update you. I dropped a total of eight short here with a plan to get a light starch and dry cleaning. This was in the middle of July when I dropped them off not just a few blocks from my home in Belmont Shore. I flew to New York for twelve days and returned about a week or so later. So I thought I'd pop in... I walked in and little did I know that the place only accepted cash or check--Who knew in a tech age that this still happens and it's not like the area I live in is "sketch"..nevertheless I succumbed to the archaic and octogenarian let down and went next door to the credit union and withdrew some fast cash. Now the horror story begins ... When I returned the old lady waltzed to the front oblivious that the younger desk clerk could not find my shirts. She then refused to to looks for my shirts ! Ask me if I was even sure that I came to the correct cleaners. I slowly began to become angry and upset but held onto it like a vice grip because I knew I went crazy. The lady then acted as if I was delusional, stating that if I didn't have a ticket than I should give her my phone number ??? As if I was going to return later??? This is when I nearly blew my top...but I stood my ground clearly aggravated...I didn't budge she or the old lady were not going to move me one way or another so I demanded that she give me my 's. They then knew I was not going to leave.... So the old lady, heaved, puffed and sniffed and finally let me look for my 's. She had insisted that they did not have them ! Yet there they were in all there poor glory staring the three of us along with tweedle Dee and twiddle Dumber SQUARE IN THE DAMN FACE! I threw my $20.00 bill down grabbed my shirts and got out of there as fast as I possibly could ..I was pissed but still relieve that I retrieved what was mine...I WON!!!! Or did I? To my horror as I inspected the collar of the new shirts I discovered a ring around the collar of an otherwise brand knew white spread collar on one of my newly purchased work shirts not only were these two women at this place BATSHYT KRAY KRAY!!! But they fundamentally don't know how to dry clean shirts !!! Moral of the story !! Avid this GODFORSAKEN hellhole and go elsewhere ...rumor is there is a much better, prim and proper dry cleans on the east end of second ran by much more easy people to deal with!!!!! Okay, I can't believe I'm writing a review for a dry cleaner. But, lemme tell you, I LOVE ROXIE. As far as dry-cleaning goes, there good. I'm not that particular. My clothes come back clean, my buttons are smashed and, in general, they are a reliable, reasonably priced cleaners. But, what I love about Roxie's, is how friendly everyone is. They are incredibly nice, warm and welcoming. I feel as if I'm leaving my clothes at my grandma's. The best part, I drop my load and they suggest a pick-up date. If it is at all inconvenient, Roxie's crew will deliver whenever you want and with a smile. I love Roxie. I have a crush. read more

Walked into Roxy's 3 years ago when I moved to long beach and needed a dry cleaners. Roxy is a wonderful woman who takes great care of my clothing. In addition, Roxy is incredibly honest. I've left countless objects in my pockets over the years and she always has them for me when I return to pick up my laundry. This last time it was $17 I had left in one of my suit jackets. Although I have been reading/referencing reviews on Yelp for several years, this is my first time writing a review on this platform, as I found it necessary to share a recent, highly unpleasant experience at Roxie's Dry Cleaning. I and my partner started using Roxie's for dry clean about half year ago, and as simple dry clean of shirts and scarves goes, we had had no problem with their service. Only about a month ago I brought in a pair of designer's silk pants for a minor tailoring job. As I have had 17 years of experience using various different tailoring services on both coasts of US, in Europe, and in East Asia, I knew very well how to communicate with tailors to express what I want done in a tailoring job. I explained very clearly what I wanted the seamstress at Roxie's to do with my pants, and explicitly emphasized the fabrics, dimension, and the type of alteration I wanted. The lady (assuming it's the owner) agreed with slight impatience upon my repeat emphasis on certain specification which I goodheartedly took as her confidence. When I eventually returned to the store for the pick-up, alas! I was horrified to find out that they had done something completely different and exceedingly messy- and ugly-looking to my pants! On top of that, they had ruined/torn the already delicate original fabric by removing something that was not supposed to be removed. I was already discouraged by the damage done to the pants, but still suggested to the same lady to remedy at least part of the erroneously done alteration, of which she pointedly expressed a slight annoyance. And throughout the communication process I remained friendly, polite, and clear. At last, when I returned for the second time for the pants, it became clear to me that they could not do any better to the pants and she had stubbornly not taken my directions, and the result was that I lost a pair of expensive and beloved pants for the errors they made. In addition to the poor tidings of this business, the lady/owner I'd been dealing with triggered a violent row in the store with me. At first I was just explaining to her and her associate why I was not happy with the job they'd done, and before I was able to finish, she threw the pants at me and spoke loudly in a tone of chastising, "What do you want? You don't want to pay? Is that what you want?" And on it went our shockingly unpleasant argument, mostly because she refused to admit that she had made a mistake, and blamed me for taking in a pair of pants that was already "broken" (which was a total lie). When I demanded that she at least apologize to me, she aggressively refused to do so, and continued putting the blame on me. I left with her turning her back on me and a violent discord not peacefully solved. My extremely unpleasant experience at Roxie's was first caused by a badly done tailoring job, which would not necessarily lead me to write this negative review. However, her attitude toward me -- both as a person and as a customer -- was what truly offended me. Based on a couple other reviews which praised her customer's service, I can only say that perhaps she has differentiating attitude towards different customers, or perhaps she is nice when things go smoothly and as expected. But with the incident of my pants and her dealing with me, I have to state honestly that this lady/owner of Roxie's had reacted not only absolutely unprofessionally, but also in a manner which is rude, aggressive, uncivilized, disrespectful, and upsetting. In short, my most recent business experience at Roxie's is shockingly bad, which now prompts me to encourage anyone who might be considering visiting this store to retreat and find somewhere else. read more

I won't be going back here again, because this morning when I went to pick up my dry cleaning they kept trying to give me someone else's clothes! The employee kept insisting that the ticket had my name on it (I have a common last name), even though the number didn't match and neither did the number of items on my ticket. She did eventually find my dry cleaning. I'm just relieved I made it there before the other person with my last name--or the other customer may have taken my super expensive dress home with them! read more

I have been a customer of Roxie's for decades, when I was still working I sent all my weekly laundry (I'd wash the dress shirts and give them to her for pressing) and my high end work clothes. I've never had any type of problem with the service and the most important part of this review is the quality care given to my clothing. You get what you pay for in the service provided. You can't afford to replace $$$$ clothing due to careless cleaning, Roxie knows her business and cares about her customers. read more

I just moved to Belmont Shore last fall, so this place is the closest to where I live. Naturally I tried it out - DO NOT GO!!! They completely ruined all three pieces of clothing that I dropped off. Both my white skirt and my red and white summer dress have black spots on them. I had pointed out the black spots initially and they gridgingly said they will fix it. They didn't fix anything, the spots are still there, both items unwearable and they did not refund me. My third item, a white top was over-dried so much that the lace on it ended up in shreds. I have NEVER been to a more incompetent dry-cleaners. Oh they are nice for sure, but they WILL ruin your clothes if you hand them anything nice. read more

Bought a pair of unfinished trousers from L.L. Bean and took them to Roxy's to be cuffed. Thought it odd when she merely asked my inseam and, laying them out on the counter, used a yardstick to determine the hemline. Professional tailors and seamstresses always take the inside leg while the trousers are being worn and hem accordingly, but I figured she knew what she was doing. Not so. When I got them back a few days later the cuffs broke baggy as elephant knees. Surprise -- different cuts from different makers give different inseams on the same person! (Thus the need to take the inside leg rather than guesstimate to save three minutes.) I then insisted they take the inside leg, as they should have done in the first place, and waited three more days for them to alter their goofed alteration. When I finally claimed the trousers, they were lying wadded up in a pile behind the counter; I stood there waiting another five minutes while they were hastily pressed and wrapped. I was then asked to pay full price for the alteration to the alteration; when I demurred, Roxy's idea of good customer service was to offer half-off the second one. I paid grudgingly and will avoid Roxy's in future -- suggest you do the same. read more
