The food is great- I love their mighty rib melt and their fried. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes I've gone in and they very nice and attentive. Other times I go in, like today, and the cashier is rude and looking at her phone the whole time. She clearly wanted to be anywhere but at work. That doesn't make me feel comfortable at all. Today I asked for a might rib melt without onions and there were still onions in the sandwich. When I told the cashier she was extremely rude to me. I rarely complain about service because I know the food industry is rough, but this was not okay. Overall I recommend their food, they just need to work on their employee's attitudes. I ordered their most popular burger the Justin's Burger made with Grass Fed Beef, House made pimento cheese, caramelized onions, grillo's pickles, and chipotle mayo. Really Good! The Bacon-ator of Cambridge was in the House cooking up Stacks of Bacon. LOL! I told them I had never been here before & they gave me a Free Sample of their bacon. Crispy & Good. I've found my new favorite grilled cheese place! The interior is clean, well decorated and gets lots of natural light. Plus, it houses the not-very-secret entrance to the A4cade bar, which is also worth checking out! The condiments bar had the usual ketchup, but also had sriracha, which instantly made me happy. My boyfriend and I shared the Double Fried Chicken sandwich and the Muenster Club grilled cheese sandwich. Both were amazing! The fried chicken sandwich was crispy, buttery, not at all dry, and quite flavorful. The Muenster Club was my favorite. It comes with peppered turkey, bacon, chipotle mayo and avocado. The bread was perfectly crispy, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the flavors blended perfectly. It honestly was a lot more flavorful than I thought is possible for a grilled cheese. Thank goodness I'm not lactose intolerant because I would have to take a tons of Lactaid for every time I devoured a grilled cheese from this spot. I'm a huge fan of the three cheese & the Allston. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I have yet to try one of their hotdogs because I always crave a grilled cheese when I come here. Another plus to this yummy spot is that it's connected to a fun arcade that's thru some steal door. You can either order at the counter in what appears to be a traditional restaurant or venture back to the arcade and eat some yummy noms near the fun & games. The service is great. THIS PLACE GAVE ME AND MY FRIENDS FOOD POISONING!! Came to this place for the barcade in the back. Before going in me and some friends decide to have some burgers and fries. I try the Justins Burger because I love in-n-out animal style and it's similar minus the fresh veggies. After button mashing the evening away we take the T home, but i start having an upset stomach that requires a bathroom. Fortunately I made it to one and didn't think much of it because I ate plenty of other foods that day. 2 weeks later I come back with another group of friends. We play all the games and have fun and before we leave we decide to get burgers and fries. To make sure nothing happened this time I ask for my Justin burger well done. We take the food to go and enjoy it at home. As I eat my burger I see that it's medium rare/more on the pinker side, but after drinking and a night at the arcade, I wasn't very picky so I finish my food. The following day I experienced heavy Fever symptoms: night sweats, chills, aches and pains, dehydration, etc. I figured I got sick from the arcade touching stuff that hundreds of other people are touching throughout the week. My symptoms last a few days and knock me out from being able to go to work. Once I've recovered, I meet up with my friends who went with me and I tell them how sick I got from that night. To my surprise, my friends had experienced the same symptoms as me, but worse! They'd also had the fever along with nausea, vomitting, diahrea, bleeding, etc. This was the only thing we shared together that night and for us to experience similar symptoms means it wasn't a coincidence. As amazing as the burger and fries were, the consequences obviously make eating at Roxy's not worth it. I'm sure plenty of folks received amazing burgers, sandwiches, fries, and other goodies and that this was probably a rare occurrence, but I'd NEVER get a burger there EVER again. Unbelievably awful. Ordered delivery, ham and cheese with "hand cut truffle fries." This millennial click bait (which I fell for) showed up as a box of fries that must have been forgotten about in the frier. If it were eaten with a blindfold, one would have guessed, "deep fried charcoal." I wish I took a picture but I threw it away too quickly. The grilled cheese was nothing to write home about either--I would have rather made a grilled cheese myself and lit 15 dollars on fire than pay for this again. I love grilled cheese. I love Roxy's. My eyes are bigger than my stomach, so getting a grilled cheese (I love the green muenster) and tots was probably not the wisest decision. The grilled cheese was so perfect. The tots were good, but there was too much truffle oil and salt. I could not get the taste out of my mouth afterwards, even with the blueberry lemonade (their lemonades are always perfection). The food here is heavy, so it's not the best feeling when you eat too much. I love the ambiance, although the music can be a touch too loud. I got lunch from Roxy's today and was pleasantly surprised. I had the green Muenster which had a nice guac with a kick. As a side I also got the poutine which was extra greasy. There was so much gravy . Personally I prefer for my poutine to have a little less gravy but it was still delicious. I would say this is a perfect spot of a quick and delicious comfort food option. The two food items I got were a little bit more expensive than I expected but it's also a trendy and unique Boston food spot so I can't say I'm surprised. I had a late lunch here today at around 2:30. Overall, the food was quite good. I had the beef melt and the cheese fries. I thought the beef melt could've used a little less caramelized onion and more cheese. It was a bit on the sweet side, but still a pretty solid sandwich all around. The cheese fries were very good. Fresh cut fries that were made to order. They came out piping hot with plenty of cheddar saucy on top. So, I probably would've given Roxy's a solid 4 stars, but there were two major factors that I just couldn't get past. 1: the girl at the register never said one word and had a disposition that made it seem as if I were bothering her. I almost laughed when I saw a tip option when checking out and even though I didn't tip, I felt bad for the people working in the back if they were included on the splitting of tips. When half way through my meal, I placed my empty cup on the counter and asked for a refill on my soda. Still without saying a word and coming across as if I were being a nuisance, she passed by my perfectly good cup, grabbed a new one, poured me a soda and put it on the counter and walked away. (I was already getting used to the rudeness, but I didn't get the using a new cup part?! Why waste the one i had...especially in environmentally friendly Cambridge...? If I were an owner, I'd be annoyed at the wasting of money here too.). Definitely not the person I'd want representing anything customer service related... period. 2: the tables and floor were just dirty. Not one person came in after me and the place was empty. Does no one wipe down tables or pick up utensils on the floor anymore? I shouldn't have to go to 3 tables before I find a clean spot to eat. I'm usually very forgiving and generous with my ratings and understand that on occasion people could just be having a bad day. But sometimes... you just can't get past certain things. To be honest, the amount of grease and unhealthiness that this restaurant serves does not outweigh how tasty the items are. If you want to indulge in a once in a while cheat-meal, this may not be the place to go. However, if unhealthy food is a regular, this place is OK. SO GOOD Nothing but awesome things to say about this place. The Mighty Rib Melt is my absolute fave. So much flavor and a perfect size for the price. The truffle fries are also delicious and the one time I had the poutine, I was obsessed. Justin's burger is also a really awesome choice. The pimento cheese and Grillo's pickles truly make it. The quality of all the ingredients they use is definitely high, so you know they are putting pure love in the food. I frequent the food truck mostly as it stops outside my office, but have ordered delivery as well. The people running the food truck are always so friendly and organized, so props to them! We kept it pretty simple and both got "the Rookie melt" (Vermont cheddar and tomato) and a large truffle fries to split (which had rosemary and white truffle oil). After having tried Roxy's at a food truck before, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, the brick and mortar store didn't live up to them. The grilled cheese sandwich was pretty disappointing, particularly in regards to the amount of cheese. The fries were pretty good, but not enough to warrant coming back here. Besides the food, I was not a fan of the building itself. It was a cold day, so they had the heat blasting. The heat ducts in this place are positioned right above the tables, so sitting down was like sitting under a hair dryer. If I stumble across the food truck again, I'd love to give Roxy's a chance to redeem itself, but I don't plan on coming back to this location any time soon. read more

Love this place for the crazy ambiance and classically good grilled cheese. Their basic grill cheese is best. Toasted to perfection, a crunch paired with a gooey melty cheese center. That first crunchy bite and you know you're in heaven. Service is ok/poor. Generally pretty busy, so you have to work pretty hard to get the attention of the bartenders to get what you need. They appear to care less about helping you. Because of this dropping from 5 to 4-stars. Place is quite loud, but that's by design and due to it being a totally cool, back to your childhood, 80's arcade... that you have to get to through a "semi-secret" fridge door. All in all...
