We went to meet a friend near a computer store I like to visit and he recommended this place because he used to work near by and said it's really good. When I looked on the map I saw there were also lots of other places nearby so off this was packed we still had several good options so we agreed to meet there. Well he wasn't lying, this place was great with possibly one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I have ever had, granted it was they honey bacon, so it wasn't just a plain one, but it was really good. So much so that i want to go back just for that, but there are also so many other items on the menu that i want to try that I see myself having a tough decision next time. And the food isn't the only reason we want to go back, but also in the backside of the restaurant they have a whole section of old arcade games I grew up with. Heard a lot about Roxy's Grilled Cheese and finally decided to give it a try. We went in the late afternoon after the lunch rush to avoid the crowd. Ordering is a cinch pretty much, done at the counter and they giv a number for dining in, pretty straightforward. We ordered the double fried chicken sandwich, hot honey bacon grilled cheese, and truffle fries. The counter staff were fine and courteous. No issues there. The ambience has a kind of edgy, cultural revolution vibe, which is interesting but nothing too memorable. I might be going against the grain here and my fellow reviewers but I think this place is a bit overhyped. The biggest disappointment was the double fried chicken sandwich. For something labeled double fried, it lacked crispiness and crunch. It was honestly pretty plain, and nothing about it stood out. I felt like I could get a better fried chicken sandwich from Popeyes or even KFC and that's saying something. What really sealed it for me though was finding some kind of fibrous material in the bun itself. I only noticed it because I was inspecting the sandwich more closely to see what parts were actually enjoyable. I've attached a photo. It did not look like food at all, which was somewhat concerning. I ate carefully afterwards but still had some lingering fear of earlier bites i had but itd probably just go through my systemx The hot honey bacon grilled cheese was also underwhelming. It felt like the hot honey was just lightly drizzled on top and not really incorporated, so you end up dipping parts of the sandwich into it instead. Arcade x eatery mashup with standout American fare. It's been a long time since I've had a grilled cheese, so there wasn't really a baseline. But, the Mighty Rib one I got was super good: amazingly buttered and toasted bread, nice fillings, and plenty of melted cheese. Roxy's was always on our list when coming to Cambridge and we came in at just the right time for dinner, not packed but not empty either. We chatted with the staff for a bit to figure out what to get. I will say the space isn't that big but it works well for quick in and out service since you order at the counter and they then bring your food to you. Went looking at the menu their were 2 things that really stuck out to me. The Steak N Cheese, I mean I love Cheesesteak and I love Grilled Cheese. Then the Poutine Tots. Again, love poutine and love tots how do I not. The Steak N Cheese was good. Not up to par with the tender ribeye in a true cheesesteak but still got the job done. I feel like the steak was similar to steak emms if you are wondering. The Poutine was more of a let down for me. The tots were good but the curds were over cooked for sure to the point that I didn't even realize there was cheese in those fried balls. To save the tots the Truffle ones saved them. This was my second time visiting a Roxy's location and for the 2nd time they hit it out of the park. The staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and prompt. They truly make one of the best grilled cheese's around and the meal prices are incredible fair. This location has a bararcade in a converted freezer. The barcade is quite large and has two full bars on its exterior walls. They have an assortment of games and I am told the machines alternate regularly. The token machine takes both bills or cards and games are 2-6 tokens per play. I would definitely recommend this establishment to others. read more

I enjoyed both sandwiches, although I am not sure if they justify the price. The sandwich is quite hefty and leaves you satisfied. They do get a bit oily but not so overwhelming to prevent you from finishing the sandwich in one go. I preferred the steak & and cheese, although it was a little messy to eat as pieces of steak kept slipping out the sandwich. The poutine fries, on the other hand, were very disappointing. The cheese curd was overly fried and dried up. The gravy was overly salty, making it quite tiring to consume. The fries themselves were okay, but the portion of this dish did not make it worth the price. I would have ordered a third grilled cheese instead. Like don't get me wrong, the food is enjoyable and tasty - but it's not the type of dish that leaves like "I'm really satisfied and satiated with the the money I put down". I think I would be happier if I mentally silo the restaurant as bar food. It is going to be greasier than your typical lunch or dinner so I think it's best if you forget that during a night of drinking. I came here with colleagues the other day for lunch. We were a fairly large group, and I appreciate that the staff bagged all our items together since we were doing takeout. I paired this with the truffle tots (excellent and such a fun spin on tator tots) and dulce de leche shake. Let me take a moment to talk about this shake.
