Everytime i go in here everything is at least double the price as stores in bozeman, no biggie that's just big sky for you. But the sheer level of incompetent staff is astounding. This is a small supermarket that has The essentials and a little extra. The worst part of doing shopping here are the customers that will speak down to the cashiers about the price of items. It's not their fault. Don't yell at them! Be polite. They have a nicely stocked meat market and deli. They have a baked goods section, but no actual bakery. But there aren't any bakeries in any of The supermarket s I Big Sky. For a bakery you need to go either too Blue Moon or f sweet buns bakery. This store is one of the few places that is opened on a regular basis. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be around if Big Sky doesn't do something realistic about the employee housing problem. Beware! Prices may be advertised lower than they actually ring up at the register. A carrot cake priced at $16.49 rang up for $17.79. When brought to the attention of the older woman at the register, her answer was it is probably the new price. Then when I pointed out the sticker on the shelf, she huffed her way to the register and said under her breath "not like an extra dollar is going to hurt ya". I asked her a couple times what she said and she said "nothing", but I clearly heard her shame me for questioning the correct price. I told her it is not just about me, it is about all the rest of the customers that they are taking an extra dollar or two from because of false advertising of prices. That all adds up. Then she aggressively poked her way through the register buttons (showing her anger and frustration) to override and correct the price so I could buy it. Very poor customer service...a better example would be to admit the mistake and politely fix it. What a bad attitude this woman had! The markup is about 30-50% more, but it's still considerably cheaper than eating out at restaurants for every meal. BUT I found the staff to be rude ESPECIALLY in the deli which totally sucks. There was one deli guy who seemed to be nice but another who left us all shocked. Roxy's is a nice market! Deep in the mountains of Big Sky, Montana you honestly wouldn't even expect a market this nice. Yes, its expensive. But consider your location and what it actually takes for them to keep these shelves stocked. On Thanksgiving eve we made a last minute journey here to pick up a forgotten ingredient. I found it easily. What more could you ask? The store was well-organized and bigger than I thought with friendly staff. Upon checkout I impulse purchased some local CBD. To my complete surprise and delight, its helped with some of my chronic pain, so that's one impulse purchase I can't even be mad about it. Overhyped and stupid expensive. For example...A two-roll count of Bounty paper towel was $10...nearly double the average price. My husband and I recently traveled to Big Sky for vacation. Ahead of checking into our Airbnb, we stopped at Roxy's to pick up essentials. We had no idea if things like coffee, coffee filters, salt/pepper, snacks, etc. would be stocked...and, since we had time to kill before our checkin start time, we figured it made sense to do some light grocery shopping. After spending $135 on $60 worth of items, we later learned that some of our purchases weren't needed. Coffee, coffee filters, and salt/pepper were already equipped in our vacation rental. So, we returned to Roxy's with our receipt in tow and the items that we did not need. (All pristine, unused, and packaging untampered.) Unfortunately, they would not accept returns. All in all, I left feeling disgruntled and disappointed. Shopping there felt like being at a Whole Foods outpost, with inflated prices and poor communication on policies. I do not recommend shopping there, for everyday items. You're better off shopping at the Country Market for dry goods, cleaning products, etc. read more

Very mixed thoughts about this place. I'm a long time seasonal Big Sky resident. This store has a great selection that was unthinkable not that many years ago such that you don't have to drive to Bozeman if you won't want to. I am grateful for that reason and its open til 9. That said, the prices are same as you find in a bespoke high-end urban market but the place just falls sadly short. It's a mountain town grocery store so it's a little more sparse than what you're used too. However, coming from Florida and being particularly picky with our grocery shopping, I was surprised at the selection of organic fruit ( not apples) there was. Sandwiches are amazing. Made to order with fresh ingredients. Boars Head meat which you can't go wrong. My favorite was the grinder. A delicious version of an Italian sub. I recently shopped here & bought groceries worth almost $300. The till person Laura was very very rude in her attitude and conversation. She acted as if she was doing us a favor! It looks like she reserved special rudeness for us for reasons best known to her as the other customer was not treated the same way. She definitely needs some cultural sensitivity training. She also almost called us a liar when she declined the milk special price the store had posted and wanted to charge us 3X as much! I had to go the milk section again and take a picture of the milk aisle showing the price I informed her about before she believed it and decided to honor the price. Is it more expensive than the grocery store you're accustomed to going to... probably. Consider the cost of the property, the price to construct the building, overhead in Big Sky, freight... you get the idea. Everything in Big Sky comes with bigger price tags. It is a resort town after all. We've always been able to find what we're looking for and plenty more. Great selection of items. Plenty of Organic items to choose from as well. Well-stocked grocery store. Best option in Big Sky. Wide isles and well-lit interior. Good parking. Prices are reasonably higher than Bozeman, ~10%. If you're just passing through and need a few things, this is an excellent choice. It is, essentially, a premium grocery store conveniently located in the Big Sky area. If you do large amounts of shopping once every two weeks for a family of four, then Bozeman would be a better deal. For 99% of the people who are working or touring through the area, come here. It's clearly brand new, built off-season for the coming one (2015-2016). I asked and the cashier said the opening was last November, although I haven't heard mention of it anywhere else. It doesn't appear on Google Maps and so I assumed while I was in town yesterday, that it was a non-existent business. For some reason I didn't see it driving in. Part of that is - driving in, one goes past the right side of the building where it is not lit. You would only see it driving out, or during the day if you were looking for it. I kept passing out (taking naps) in the wonderful mountain air throughout the evening of Wednesday, the 20th; so I missed some chance to explore. This is one of the spots that could have helped the experience at Big Sky, not thinking my only option was to ,run on home' as there was no proper grocery store. The Hungry Moose, a little further down the road, is more of a convenience store, with double the Bozeman prices on many things [Only bulk grains, beans and nuts, including trail mix, is a very good price at Hungry Moose]. As a result, it's nice to known Roxy's exists. This is a large, well-stocked, brand new grocery store right along the main road. It has an interactive kiosk out front; I only wish they would update the software to include a ,list view' of businesses. Clicking on the business shows you the name and address, but should show more about what the business is or does: a descriptive blurb should appear, a body text to show more than only the name. They plainly carry a full selection: meats, grocery, wine and alcohol, dry goods, dairy and the like. As soon as I can get in to explore it, I'll check it out and report back. I did. The review has been updated. PAY ATTENTION to sale prices; they are quite reasonble and priced lower than average retail in the bigger cities. In other words, they are actually sales. read more

Pros: A lot of healthy, some organic and local, quality foods. Good beer and wine selection. Environmentally conscious including use of biodegradable plastic bags. Cons: WAY overpriced (even for organic/local/quality of food), and staff can be slightly rude. My biggest beef with Roxy's is the extreme over-pricing of a lot of common products. It seems likely everything is priced 30-70% higher than what I'm used to in Denver, even compared to pricier groceries like Whole Foods. Examples: - Scottish salmon, $19.99/lb (only choice for salmon) - Almond Breeze almond beverage, half gallon, $4.99 (typically ~$2.99 where I shop) - Limes, $1.79 for ONE lime - Cantina blue corn dippers, 8 oz., $4.99 (with no cheaper options for blue corn tortilla chips) - Nuts (all kinds from the bulk bins), $18.99/lb I realize distribution to Big Sky is probably more expensive than other places in the country, but it also seems like Roxy's has a monopoly and jacks up their prices since customers (aka, well-to-do out-of-towners visiting the resort) have no other options. Also received some not-so-friendly comments from staff on two separate occasions. One time I was perusing the produce section (not picking up a whole lot due to the ridiculous prices), and an employee asked me "Are you just roaming around? Or do you need something?". No, I'm not just "roaming around"... I'm only selecting what I absolutely need in the next couple of days because $3.49/lb for non-organic apples is insane. Another time, my sister-in-law made a comment to my brother about the high price of the limes, and an employee overhead her and made a comment about how she should expect those prices. Unfortunately, there are no other good grocery options in Big Sky. The other two groceries are really just small local markets with probably even higher prices, so Roxy's is really the only game in town. So we had to buy all of our groceries for the week here, despite the monopolistic pricing and staff comments. read more
