So this "steakhouse" is located in The Horseshoe Casino and Hotel Blackhawk. Nice enough atmosphere nothing terribly fancy but nicer that Texas Roadhouse and such. I do believe we were celebrating our anniversary . We had alot going on as we were in the middle of closing on our house and unfortunately missed our closing date so we treated ourselves to a weekend up on "The Hill". We've done all the buffets and were looking for something different. We've walked by this place numerous times, I looked up the reviews and for the most part seemed worth giving it a shot. But in my opinion what we paid for the meal and the tenderness of my steak we would have faired better at a Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn. Steak was slightly overcooked and sides were nothing to brag about. You'd be better off dropping the $80 for the buffet across the street at " The Monarch " And actually now that I think about out it I made the reservation online and did mention it was our anniversary but they didn't have our reservation not that we needed one but it was recommended on a Saturday night. The ribeye was so so and filet mignon was given to my dog. I'm not impressed with the sides. I had ordered the asparagus it was the saddest looking sides ever as well as the Brussels sprouts it was nothing but charcoal. He was ride or die for us and did everything in hus power to make sure we were taken care of 100%. We waited for our food for 2 hours! Whenever we are at the Horseshoe in Blackhawk, CO we stop in or make a reservation at Roxy's. We were just there on Sunday 5/31/26 and once again we were treated like family. We sat and visited with the folks at the bar which is always awesome. Not only was that a great time but our bartender Arnie, is also quite awesome. She treats us like family and I'm sure all of her customers feel that way. What really impressed me is that the last time we were there was about a month ago. After greeting us she said "your cabernets will be right up". Now, not every bartender remembers your drink after meeting with a customer only twice before. My mouth dropped. She made us feel like family in each and every way. We had some wonderful conversations as she was bustling around assisting other customers. In searching for an upscale restaurant gor a Saturday night outing we found this place near our hotel and made an open table reservation even paying a premium for a booth. Upon arrival we met a gentleman at the podium that apparently was the maitre d, though there was no actual greeting extended and we had to inquire if we were able to be seated, immediately I didn't get a sense of elegance. The booth was impeccable and we were immediately attended to by a waiter who was warm and friendly. Taking a drink & pre dinner snack order he followed up with an entree order ( or as he put it- do yall want food !) Ok, now I'm feeling like a barnyard animal ! We were informed the selection request was out of stock ( halibut) and we pivoted to a salmon and fettuccine entree. Waiter was terrible. Took our appetizer order and brought it fine. Then took our salad order. We didn't see him again for over 20 minutes. A runner brought one salad, we ordered two. Waiter had two tables around us and checked them 4 times and 2 times while we sad with empty water glasses and one salad. We were there for an hour and had one appetizer and one salad. Saturday April 12- quite possibly, the worst dining experience I've ever had. I'm not sure even where to begin. I get the sense there was a big time fail from General Management as just about every table sitting around us had issues with their accuracy of their order, the food quality, or the wait time. Things seemed mis managed, wait times and quality for not only our table but several others were awful. We had a 6pm reservation and we did not get drinks until about 6:40, after our salads came out at 6:30. Food came out at 7:15, and the order wasn't missing some items. Pork chop was fine, but NEEDED a better dry rub or sauce, it was bland. Fried ravioli and meatballs were average, at best. The bill was messed up to, which prolonged how long it took us to even get the heck out of this establishment. Our server admitted he was on his second day, and I believe tried his best, but he was clearly frustrated and over his head. It was almost comical how bad this experience was, you really could not have messed this up as bad as this was. Would love to hear from the general manager sometime about how they might try and turn this around. Somehow, we ended up going on a day where this restaurant was severely understaffed with one waitress to take care of the floor and a totally new kitchen staff. Whoever decided it was wise to move all your experienced staff to the pub next door - bad move. The menu at the restaurant is on the high end - it's a steakhouse vs. the pub where you can get a meal for $20. We picked the steakhouse because our expectations were high for the food and service. We made the best of it. I ordered the pork chop: the meat and potatoes were good, my broccolini was chilly. The wagyu burger was cooked perfectly. However, the bacon overpowers the expesive beef. The potatoes were carbonized - not edible at all. For dessert, I chose the chocolate cake - the presentation was sloppy, the edges all jacked up. Again, what a deafening lack of quality and the proper staffing. We made the best of the experience and rolled with it. I really hope this restaurant gets the staff it deserves for the people who are paying the steakhouse prices sake. To top off the experience - the typo in the drink menu was laughable. This was a very nice, somewhat overpriced, upscale restaurant. Our server, Mark, was attentive and efficient. On the menu it said the sirloin and shrimp scampi came with carrots, asparagus and rice - which we subbed for the garlic mashed potatoes. What we got was One little carrot and one very tough asparagus spear. The potatoes were very good - as was the perfectly seared steak. The shrimp were a nice size but there were only three. This one plate of food was $68 so I would have expected more vegetables. I'm glad I got to try this restaurant but I don't know that I'd come back very soon. read more

Roxy I think the customer who said if you eat here review the place shouldn't have put that in the review. This restaurant's food is uninspired. We made a reservation but it didn't look like it was necessary. Lots of empty tables the whole time we were there. The server, Lisa, was pleasant and welcoming. We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail, grilled swordfish and the chicken florentine. Airline was fancy for bone in. They had lagunitas IPA which was excellent. Jumbo shrimp tasted frozen. Not thawed completely. Lots of cocktail sauce and I guess it was supposed to have celery on the bottom of the glass. We saw none. Grilled swordfish came out with beautiful grill marks but so hard I sawed at it. A re-do came out not completely cooked. Finally had crab cakes on appetizer menu. Not sure but one came out. Expensive dish. His chicken was meh. After the fabulous dinner the night before where prices were similar, this dinner fell flat. First off, let me say our server was top notch. Very warm and welcoming. We ordered the stuffed ravioli for an appetizer and it was pretty hard around the edges. I ordered a filet (medium rare) and it came out well done. I wasn't going to say anything because I was pretty tired of dealing with disappointing service at the front desk of the hotel during check in. Well, there are hidden little gems in every place I seem to go. The wife and I had a wonderful opportunity to take a 'stay-cation' at The Isle, and we chose to make dinner at Roxy's part of that experience. First things first, the staff at both the Isle and Roxy's are top notch. Really. It was clear that they were interested in our full satisfaction from the moment we arrived. I had the filet, and the wife chose a shrimp dish - both were fresh, excellently prepared, and delicious. The ambiance is cozy, upscale, and romantic - despite being only about 50 feet from the casino floor. There was enough privacy that I don't recall noticing the flashing lights or elated sounds of someone hitting six the hard way. It is priced similarly to what you'd pay at a steakhouse in the city, but because it cut no corners, I had no problem with that. Excellent experience! Good desert, too. read more

I finally got to try the Roxy out at a recent Yelp Elite event and I very much enjoyed the experience. The environment is pleasant, the location easily accessible from the parking garage via elevator, the service excellent, and the food quite good. We were a bit late and, as such, missed the appetizers, but we enjoyed the caesar salad, filet mignon with shrimp and mashed pototoes, and a splendid slice of chocolate cake. If you are feeling like something sweet to drink, I highly recommend the smores martini. If you don't enter via the parking garage but rather walk in through the casino, I feel like it might be easy to miss the Roxy as it as at the far end of the building. However, if you approach via the front desk, all you need to do is head up one level. It's worth seeking out, regardless. read more

Ate here this weekend. I'm not sure where the poor reviews are coming from. The food was good. Yes, it's expensive.. it's a steakhouse and you can checkout the menu with prices before choosing if that's a problem. The service was.. 'interesting', not terrible but they are definitely short staffed. I would say this restaurant needs to invest in some fine dining training for their host and servers. We ordered two bottles of wine, both times, I almost asked our server if I could open for her, she looked unsure with a corkscrew and opened on the table, and poured the taste with the wrong person (again, just seemed like inexperience). She was super sweet and personable and we loved that. Overall, our table of 4 loved their food, prime rib, filet, shrimp alfredo, brussels and au gratin potato (these were amazing). My wife and I used to come in when it was Faradays at the Isle of Capri and loved it then! Unfortunately it's not the same. We had dinner last night and was unimpressed with the food. Asked for medium temp on my $28 burger and it was well done. Very dry. They sent it back and fired up another which took 20 min. The Au Gratin was terrible. The first one was burnt and hard on the top layer so they sent that back and made another. When it came out, the cheese was watery on the bottom. Not quite sure what it was, TBH. We definitely like the ambiance and "Chile" our bartender was awesome! I'd definitely go back for a drink or two but the food for that price was uninspiring. I want to love this brand new establishment that opened 3 days ago. We entered straight to the bar and were asked what we'd like? Not friendly nor welcoming! We explained we'd like martinis, no food and then was preceded to ask what we would like. We ordered the advertised casino martini for the 4th, the star spangled banner and a lemon drop martini. Our server was unfriendly and cold. Maybe he felt pressure with a busy brand new opening holiday weekend, however I felt as thought he didn't appreciate my business not wanted to serve ya. We came in at 7 p.m. on Sunday, 30 Dec, after having been waved away from the pub across the hall, which was not accepting guests because they were "short staffed." We were seated at the bar in Roxy's. Now this is a holiday night, before New Years. A large amount of people were in town ready to party, along with year's end to spend their "Celebration money" which we were also. Roxy's were also short staffed and management should be ashamed. I'll bet Caesars management in Vegas doesn't know about the management here. Anyway, Roxy's was out of baked potatoes, French onion soup, and prime rib, OUT! It took us two hours to be served food and for us to eat it. Had to ask for silverware 15 minutes after being served. Had to ask for our whiskey sampler to be served 20 minutes later. The Swedish meatballs were terrible and had no sauce, the spinach salad was COVERED in a brown dressing of some type, which ruined the wilted spinach leaves. The shrimp cocktail was lying on its side in a pitiful watery condition, the raviolis were way overcooked and impossible to bite into the hard crust. They shooed us off at 9 p.m. closing and the $128 bill. They won't be open again until Thursday in spite of the holiday and the opportunity to make some money. When we left, the pub across the way had a dozen people in it enjoying the football playoff game. I guess we weren't good enough to darken their door. Went last night I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the Chicken Marsala. The scallops were great but the sides that came with his entree were old and cold, we asked to warm up the sides to save time, but they'd have to remake them, meaning sitting around eating just chicken. The server ended up bringing another order of sides, which were cold....by this time I'm done eating my scallops. We had a great time talking but there were LONG spans of time where we saw no server. The steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious. Sides are not included, they are extra but still very good. This is a classy/elegant place to eat in the Isle casino. You don't go to a high end dining establishment looking for an inexpensive meal, so expect the entrees to be a bit pricy here. Our meals were great, the salmon over quinoas was excellent, the Chilean sea bass over potatoes was very good, however it was the smallest piece of fish I have ever seen on a plate as an entrée. The service- below average and the server was very defensive when I sent my steak back and said "Are you sure? It will take a really long time for them to make you another!" First of all they were out of several thinkgs. Secondly, our appetizers came out cold. Then our dinner came out lukewarm. We were never offered drink refills and our water was not filled either. We went in a Thursday night and the restaurant was not even crowded. this was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. we spent over $300 on dinner and drinks, and the service was equivalent to Applebees. We waited over an hour and a half to get mediocre steaks that Texas Roadhouse would have been 500% better. I went to the restroom and the waiter took my plate and told my companion that if I wanted anything else I can use the bread plate. Were they low on plates that evening? After I came back from the restroom, I was sitting with no plate in front of me and was very uncomfortable waiting for my companion to finish eating. I would NOT recommend this place at all. It is not a Steak House, I would recommend going over to Brew Brothers. Boy, do I miss the Isle and Faradays. It will be YEARS before Black Hawk sees us again. He did not ask her to put it back on during there laughing and carrying on. Restaurant is packed. I spoke to the NIck, he was rude and said no she did not have her mask on.
