Rounded up to 5 stars We stopped here while driving to Grabd Junction on I 70 West. The Candied Hog Burger was moist and flavorful. The Tuffle Fries (upsell) were decadent and delicious. The outdoor seating area overlooks a stream and is relaxing. The whiskey selection is eclectic, with some interesting options. Very impressed! We needed a good pre-14er hike meal and wanted something filming, but light, and def not greasy junk food. This was it! We were staying just down the road in Georgetown for its proximity to the mountains we were trying to summit. And the food here was delectable! Great flavor, healthy & fresh. We set on the patio which is literally on the creek. They had the windows popped open which allowed the cool night air in as well as the sound of rushing water below. Dont be fooled by the appearance of inside, the food is awesome and the patio is quaint and relaxing! I chose to go with the half Chicken that came with broccolini and mashed potatoes! Fourth visit to Cooper's on the creek. I love their patio. Burgers are great. Last visit we had the wild cod special. I love the Cod and felt the amount of green beans on the order was skimpy. We returned this evening for my birthday dinner. Server Kate was lovely. Ordered the cod and probably had six or seven green beans and a small amount of quinoa under a small portion of cod. I was OK with the fish portion being smaller, but seriously quinoa and green beans are very inexpensive to make your plate be a full meal. A cup full of quinoa and at least 15 green beans would be an adequate portion. Don't skimp for an inexpensive accompaniment to the meal. The chicken sandwich that my husband ordered was disappointing with Burnt Brie, overcooked fries, and chicken pieces rather than a single nice piece of chicken. I am planning on breaking eight people in for lunch next week and it's making me question whether this is the right place. Would love to return and have improvement. read more

I come from a mixed race family and I'm not sure what there problem was but no one brought us water, acknowledged we existed and we sat there for 20 minutes watching those that came after us get served. We had a nice waitress, and we sat out back by the creek, which was lovely. However, the food was terrible. We ordered three different burgers off the menu and ordered them all medium. They were all burnt. The patties were misshapen-it looked like somebody grabbed the meat and threw it on the griddle, not caring about how the food appeared at all. Three burgers and three drinks cost $90 before tip. I expect for that price to get something delicious and well prepared. Probably the worst food I've had in a long time. I don't like giving bad reviews, but they need to kick it up a notch. Not that hard to make a decent burger and learn how to cook it properly. read more

I went to Western Colorado for the Palisade Peach Festival in Palisade. I left mid-afternoon Sunday but still hit stop & go traffic in Georgetown. I noticed a local restaurant, Coopers on the Creek. Nice large selection of beers and food items. I overheard from a server that a few hours before, they were swamped. They have a truly good deal with a 12oz draft of New Belgium Mountain Time Premium Lager for only $3. I added a Candied Hog Burger with 8oz ground angus beef topped with chili dusted bacon, gorgonzola cheese and black garlic aioli for $20 with an order of Truffle fries for $3. A tasty and filling meal. The Mtn Time Premium Lager was excellent. They add a 2% Culinary charge. I was served by Megan B and she was nice. I joined their rewards program. read more

Stopped here yesterday on the way back from a visit to Winter Park - had seen it online and liked the menu. Lots of duck, which I love! I had the duck confit salad, which was really outstanding, and partner had house salad, also very good. Some good beer on tap, too, always a hit with me. We come to Georgetown a few times a season and plan to try to get here for dinner sometime, because their dinner menu is really interesting. Good, friendly service, and a nice-looking place to settle for a while. We ate indoors because there wasn't a wait and it was very hot, but they have a screened back patio with creek views that looked really nice. read more

A great little place just as you are entering, or leaving, Georgetown. Plenty of good parking and the building and parking lot are extremely clean. You can choose to sit inside the building proper, or you may sit in an enclosed back deck area right near the water. This area by the water is where we sat and we enjoyed it immensely. Maddie, our server, was friendly and spunky. She was attentive and efficient which made for a pleasant atmosphere. The food was on the mid range of average which is why this is a four star review instead of a five. The hemp garden burger was incredible but the Reuben was dry and entirely too light on kraut and dressing. Even the extra kraut I asked for was dry. I was disappointed with this sandwich and wouldn't order it again. The service and attractive location made this place worth the visit. The food was a little disappointing as were the portion sizes. read more

We discovered Coopers when we stopped at Georgetown on our way home from the mts. We had lunch there and we each ordered a different gourmet chicken sandwich. They were delicious. We were seated on the back porch area where the windows are partially open and the creek runs right by, great atmosphere! Two weeks later we passed by and couldnt resist stopping for dinner. My husband ordered a burger and fries, enjoyed it. everything there is elevated to a gourmet level with items you don't expect. I ordered the cod that came with quiona featuring cherries and pistachios, a special pista sauce and sautéed veggies. i was disappointe. The piece of fish was small. I only found three tiny cherries the size of cranberries in the sauce. And the nuts were diced up so small I barely tasted them. The sautéed veggies were about 4 skinny green beans. Description sounded like a mix of veggies, barely got any. Left hungry. But everything else was good, and other dishes people ordered looked good. So even with one less than great dish, I would go back. Also nice wait staff. read more

The burgers and chicken were way over done, the candied bacon was burnt bacon and they don't even have regular mustard or bbq sauce, so definitely disappointing when you have kids. We probably went in when the chef called in sick... food was such a disappointment, which is a shame because the location is great, the place is cute and the servers were nice. We ordered kid cheese burger with fries, duck confit pot pie, pork chop and a salad with Chicken. Pork chop entree was the only enjoyable dish. Cooked perfectly and delicious. It was on the pricey end for the portion, but it's at a mountain town, it's acceptable. Kid cheese burger sliders were bone dry and the fries were bad. You could tell that they were made of real potatoes and fried them fresh after you ordered, because they were not completely cut so they were still attached together, and the chef didn't care to break them up, the fries ended up being fried as a cluster. The outcome was oily and cooked very unevenly. Duck confit pot pie was such a disappointment. The puff pastry was not cooked, I only found out after taking a bite of the raw dough. Sent it back to the kitchen. It came back cooked, but the puff pastry was already soggy and melted, so even though it was cooked, it wasn't flaky at all. And the duck used wasn't duck confit, it's just shredded duck. I was looking forward to it, turned out to the biggest disappointment. As far as I could tell, there were two other tables that sent back food to the kitchen besides us. Poor server had to keep running back and forth. Not sure what's going on with the kitchen crew. Oh, also I have never been be a restaurant that doesn't give out steak knife for a meat dish. We all had to use the regular table knife to cut the pork chop. When we asked for some plates as we were sharing the food, we were given saucers! Not even a dessert plate! read more

It's definitely been awhile since I've been to Cooper's on the Creek, but I was pleased to find they're still holding it down. I stopped by with some friends on a Sunday afternoon for some post-hike noshing, and we managed to hit the HH menu, which was a pleasant surprise. We ended up ordering a number of things to share, including the burger, the green chili dip, duck poutine, and the grilled romaine salad. Everything was tasty and well prepared, but a special shout out to the homemade chips and green chili dip. The dip was absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't stop eating the chips. It was all excellent paired with our beers, and they had a great (and super interesting) selection on those as well. Our server was a pro, and totally accommodated us waiting the few minutes for HH to start as well. It's a great place to go unwind, with a picture perfect creekside view no less, when you're out and about Georgetown. read more

Came here for lunch with a group of eight. I ended up getting the chicken bistro sandwich (Grilled chicken, candied bacon, smoked provolone, black garlic aioli, ciabatta, house cut fries) and it was very underwhelming. The bread that the sandwich was on was way too big, and the chicken definitely tasted like it was previously frozen. The bacon was very skimpy and the additional toppings were laid out on tbe side of the plate as if a second thought. The fries were also very limp and could have been fried for a few more minutes at least for more crispiness. The server seemed overwhelmed and kept dropping things at both our table and another - he lost a bun on one of the sandwiches at our table and never picked it up behind my seat. Would maybe come back here for a drink due to the convenience of location but probably wouldn't come back for food. read more

Our food were a split. My steak was too fatty and overly salty, but JS's grits and shrimp was good, well he liked it. The salad, full size, was not fresh; there were bad leaves. Their mimosas are cool it's an ice cube of orange or pineapple and pretty flowers and they pour over the Prosecco. I got the duck pot pie and it was not bad I wish it had a little more gravy type filling inside it was mostly like roasted Vegis and meat with puff pastry over but flavors were nice. To my surprise, I got a delicious meal in this small restaurant in Georgetown, CO. I was expecting a diner or truck stop as my only options so I was very grateful and pleasantly surprised. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet that came with whipped mashed potatoes and tri colored carrots in a wine sauce. I ordered the filet medium well and it was perfectly cooked. The bacon was crispy and the steak was grilled to perfection and had that charcoal grill flavor. The wine sauce was just enough to dip each steak bite in and leave me wanting more. No good chef slathers sauce on anything. Just like a good performer, always leave them wanting just a bit more LOL. There was more meat than potatoes which is always something I appreciate. Our bodies need more meat than starch. It cheapens a dish to heap up starch on the plate and make the meat and veggies look skimpy. The carrots were roasted to perfection. The Brie in puff pastry usually comes with truffle honey but they were out so I was offered a pepper jam. It was delicious. As you can see from the photos I practically licked my plate. FINALLY! Y'all, the struggle has been real trying to eat at this restaurant. Everytime I'm in the area or plan on eating here, it's either closed or by reservation only. Well, finally, we made it and it did not disappoint! Service was great and friendly. The interior was pretty small, but they do have a heated patio for dining as well. Buffalo Chicken Dip. THE perfect indication for what was to come. Although a bit skimpy, it was delicious. It had just the right amount of creaminess and spice, plus the crustini had the perfect amount of crunch and softness. Taos Meatloaf. My mom enjoyed it and I sampled it as well. It's really good stuff and a big portion. Slow Cooked Herbed Chicken. I'm not even joking, this was probably the juiciest and moistest chicken I've ever had. And the flavor was to die for. Not to mention the broccolini and mashed potatoes were the perfect combination. Spicy Pickle Shot. It was a surprise for sure, not because it was strong, but because it was actually sweet. Tasted like a bread and butter pickle with a spicy kick. Not my favorite. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but you can definitely tell it's top quality and made with expertise. Plus, there are burgers and such that are more affordable if you don't want to spend too much.
