The very first thing Dr. Nini said when he examined me was that he wanted to try trigger point injections first before considering any epidural treatment. That instantly told me he was actually listening to my concerns instead of rushing me into procedures. I received the trigger point injections today and already feel hopeful again. A few years ago I went to this Drs clinic for bottox injections for my arm spasticity and I'm sure he just used saline instead of the actual bottox, there was no improvement or change in my condition, I had to pay out of pocket $4500 cause I had no insurance I went back 2 weeks later for a follow-up appointment and he said I needed a higher dose and to come back in a week, keep in mind this treatment is supposed to be every 3 to 4 months not every week, that's how I know he didn't use bottox and wanted me to keep coming back and have me pay again and again for for a saline, this Dr is a fraud, only cares about money and not about the patient, stay away from him, I cannot afford a lawyer but if there's anybody out there with the same issue, don't think you're imagining things, this Dr is a crook and will still your money if he gets the chance to do so. This review is only about their front office (phone operaters), the experience was so unprofessional and poorly operated that any faith in how the doctors would conduct them selves is vanished. I called to set up an appointment for a procedure, after confirming that my insurance was in network, I asked for a quote. Only to be told that they are understaffed and no-one in the office is trained in getting quotes, but that the procedure could be as much as $5K. They gave me 2 codes to call my insurance company with, to which my insurance company said, yes you are covered, but the doctor is who set the cost. No I'll most definitely not agree blindly to an appointment not having the slightest clue as to what the actual bill will be. I've had a very complicated situation and went to Dr. Nini, on the recommendation of my internist, the week before I was going to have neck surgery. Doctors who care and know what they are doing- have been under the care of Doctors Nini and Dr. Lee at their Third street location (which for some reason isn't listed here) for about three years. They are conservative in their treatment recommendations and have helped me immensely and I would highly recommend them to anyone with pain or spinal issues. I Don't usually write reviews for my doctors but I have been really grateful for Dr Nini. My husband and I were rear ended on the freeway, resulting in concussions, neck and back injury. In all honesty, I had thought that car accident "back injuries" or more than likely only for an insurance claim. Boy was I wrong. The accident not only resulted in me having shooting pains down my leg and my lower back feeling like it is constantly kinked, but the tension and everything else have led to almost daily headaches. Even with my background in nursing, I had no idea that being rear ended could result in so much pain and discomfort. Dr. Nini is extremely professional, and takes everything into account. He stresses not to take these things lightly and the importance of consistent treatment. Having worked with so many doctors in the medical field, I can say that this has been very important. Most doctors would take this much more lightly. In fact, after speaking to others who have had similar injury, almost all of them said don't waste time and address everything now or it will just get worse and keep coming back. Yes he is he saved my life . 8 emergency lumber surgeries to fix a spinal infection resulting from a incompetent surgeon implantation of a infected device. 30 days in Cedar Sinai hospital. Discharged with excruciating post surgery pain I found Dr Nini in a search like this He worked with me to get on my feet and pain free. First he listened to my firm rule the use of medication to last only two weeks. He adhered to that. Next two months he found an excellent physical therapist who worked with me weekly to begin rehabilitations. I found myself able to walk again and was finding I could walk without the cane or walker I hated Suddenly a setback my walking was becoming painful again. He again found me a therapy it was aqua therapy which I hated wasn't his best recommendation. I spent months laying in bed again. Each time I saw doctor Nini he would discuss a procedure in detail and we would try it with limited success. When I thought I was never going to walk without debilitating pain he said there is one last resort thing we can try. A implant called a spinal nerve stimulator. Miraculously that was the amazing life saving decision he made that showed me he cared and was working with me not only to reach my goal of walking but with minimal to no pain medication and the resumption of normal life. As of today 9/5/19 I'm pain free when I walk my dog daily. A success I can live with. My reality is standing is difficult I'll never be 100% again the eight surgeries cost me 20% of my spine. While in the middle of conversation Dr. Nini's phone rings, he takes the call while with his patient (mom) and steps out of the exam room slamming the door behind him. 10 min. later walks into room with another health prof. and a syringe. My mom, now at the end of her patience says "No I don't want that, I don't even know what it is? You should be nice to your patients" and leaves.. I visited the Beverly Hills office on 150 n. Robertson blvd. After waiting for 1 HOUR after my appointment time I was finally called in. They are way over booked and don't seem to care. Waited an hour to see this Doctor today. Dr came in to finally consult my grandmother and then left for another 20 min. My poor grandmother, she's 87 years old and has to wait this long for a 5-10 min talk.. The doctor speaks way to fast, it just felt as we were just rushed out of there. Grandmother received multiple injections from the Dr. with no results. My grandmother feels very disappointed. I am recommending she sees a different doctor who will take the time to listen to her. I personally met with multiple doctors and Cedars Sinai due to my Grandmothers condition. This is the first time I felt she should see someone else. Dr. Roy Nini works out of Beverly Hills Spine Surgery. His cohort, Dr. Lee, I saw does not have a Yelp, and is not even a Board Certified Pain Specialist. Had surgery 12/2017 - MICRODISCECTOMY (or so I thought). I am worse off now than ever. Surgeon recommended a simple surgery to remove part of a bulging disc that was compressing the nerve (MICRODISCECTOMY). I was not informed of possible complications, or the other procedures he did without my consent or even informing me afterwards. All the leg pain, numbness, increased leg pain, back pain, mobility, all came back, but MUCH WORSE. Told I would have to find a pain doctor because "patients are off all meds by now." That was back in February - March. I called around the list my insurance gave me and found one available for April, a month away. Beverly Hills Spine Surgery said they can have me seen sooner by one of their pain doctors. Had appointment with Dr. Nini, but with no explanation, I was seen by his cohort. All he did was try to force steroid injections. These costly injections are not FDA approved, they are their cash cow, making thousands per injection. They can also further deteriorate degenerating bones and cause other irreversible complications. I never had adequate pain control since surgery. Per him, the January MRI shows "so much swelling" necessitating 8 steroid injections, but out of spite he would not help because I refused 8 injections. He wanted to do other costly injections right then and there and perform costly, invasive tests, that I'm sure he would have rigged to substantiate a bunch of invasive procedures for their profit, not my health. He threw me a handful of meds and said they wouldn't help, and that I will need to agree to steroid shots. He claimed there was "so much swelling" requiring 8 steroid shots a month apart, but would prescribe an oral steroid while I decide.. what does that tell you. I simply wanted to try adequate pain control I never received post op. I needed someone to get to the root of the problem too that my surgeon was ignoring. I had to take a drug test (as did others) which I have no problem. However, we had to walk the specimen container out into the lobby, into the public bathroom, walk to specimen back into lobby with other patients watching. It was humiliating, and a violation of patient privacy. Reputable doctors say 2 injections per year. He wanted to do FOUR, then 4 MORE a month later. That was the last I've heard from Beverly Hills Spine Surgery. I have permanent damage. What was on the January MRI and ignored turned into scar tissue FROM MULTIPLE SURGICAL PROCEDURES. Dr. Nini / cohort did not care to investigate the root of the problem like real pain management doctors. Perhaps he could have caught this if he were a decent doctor. They are there to make money to fund their lifestyles with no regard to your health. My symptoms should NOT have been ignored! New MRI elsewhere also shows I had TWO MORE PROCEDURES I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT AND DID NOT CONSENT TO! I DID NOT CONSENT TO LAMINECTOMY AND FACETECTOMY TOO! So much tissue has hardened from these procedures and I have permanent damage and mobility issues. Should have investigated the cause. read more

I was in severe pain from degenerated discs in the neck. I was referred to Dr. Nini and because of the unbearable pain, was scheduled for an epidural sight unseen within a few days after seeing the referring Ortho Dr. and having an MRI. I very much appreciate the scheduler getting me in so quickly. Dr. Lee viewed my MRI and consulted with me the morning of the epidural. It took away the severity but I still needed another one (which is not unusual according to other doctors). Dr. Nini performed the 2nd epidural and I am pain free now. I find Dr. Nini to be very professional and to the point and feel that he diagnosed the troubled discs and assessed the solution accurately. The office visit wait has been about 10 minutes each time, which is great, but expect to wait much longer for the actual epidural procedure. If I ever need another epidural, I'll return to Dr. Nini (hope not). read more

Asked staff to call in an RX to save me some time since they had wasted a lot of mine, and they were so inept they could not even do this simple task. I have been having back pain for many years. It continually got worse. I did not want to have surgery so I was afraid to seek out a back doctor. But I finally did. I was referred to Dr Sidiqque. Fortunately he was able to refer me to pain management. Dr Nini recommended injections. I have gone twice now to get injections under sedation. The injections are like a miracle. My pain is almost gone. Another thing is that I never have to wait more than ten minutes when I see him. If I arrive early they get me in as soon as possible. I never wait. THIS "Doctor" should have his license revoked. A fraud and a crook. I received a bill of $4000 for a drug test that not only did I not consent to but that I wasn't even informed of. On my follow up visit I brought the bill to the receptionist who told me "oh you should never have gotten that. Just ignore it". Fast forward to now, a year later, the lab has turned the bill over to a collection agency! I called the office and the receptionist said to me " well I wasnt here at that time and besides we no longer work with that lab. So call the number at the top of the bill and work it out with them"!!! If every visit I had with Nini who on all 5 very short visits was on his phone dealing with private matters (like talking to his kids while they are on vacation on a tropical isle) wasn't bad enough the $4000 bill which now they wont even help me deal with is. I would NEVER refer Dr. Nini to anyone in need of pain management or for anything else. Not only is he void of any sort of personality or warmth, but he pushed a back brace onto me that I didn't want or need and said I would be charged anything for it. I ended up having to fight his billing office for an extra $100 that I was charged for the race and then found out that he had done testing on me that was out of network which also cost me an extra $120. I know a ton of good and kind MD's in LA, Nini could take a page out of their play books. read more
