What you would expect from a LaQuinta like this but everything was first rate and for people traveling this is the perfect hotel. Everything was clean and nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. Everything felt like there was effort and care here. Our room was great with excellent air conditioning. The breakfast was standard continental breakfast but very nice with fresh food, a couple of hot items (the biscuits and gravy were great) and it was very nice. What really makes this place a winner is you have a jack in the box/mini-mart right next door and you have a Denny's right next door on the other side! Such a convenience to wander of to the JITB/Mini-Mart after the races and pickup some cold drinks and tacos/burgers. There's also tons of other restaurants and stores like McDonalds, Dominos, Burger King, Los Margaritas Mexican and a bunch of others within sight. For travelers, this convenience is spectacular and rare to have it so easily accessible and nearby. I didn't get a chance to see the pool area but I am sure it is as nice as the rest of the hotel. A solid 10/10 experience and we'll be sure to book here again anytime we plan to go have fun up at Emerald Downs again!

The smell of the entire building (thank goodness not our room) was strong and nauseating. It's not a clean smell...it's a, we want the place to smell clean but failed miserably, smell. Also, room service is every three days...we were only staying four days so it made no sense to have them clean our room. We did ask for fresh towels on the second day. We upgraded to a suite so there were two rooms. The heater in the bedroom worked fine but the one in the main room did not (we figured the hotel is aware because it was unplugged). If youre looking for a budget friendly place to stay in Auburn, this place is okay. If youre highly sensitive to smells, I cannot recommend. 10/10 front desk 5/10 room Side note, bring your own TP unless you enjoy wiping with sandpaper...your bits will thank you!

OK - the lobby looked nice and the lady checking me in was pretty cool, but that did not compare to the room itself. I was amazed at this room- and not in a good way. It was a room for handicapped people - I am not disabled and did not need this room. But that was not the problem. The beds were about 1 foot off the floor, and frankly the room cleanliness was less than stellar and the room and hotel were definitely tired and in need of a thorough renovation. Indeed, the biggest problem was the uncomfortable mattresses. My god. Really? But I needed a room to sleep in, and I thought I could sleep here comfortably on a Sunday night. I was wrong. They had no signs up anywhere about quiet time. And that was a problem. Because at midnight, the loud people and stomping began and of course it woke me up. What really upset me was the receptionist in the morning did not apologize when I brought it to her attention. I get it. She probably wasn't working. But that's not the point. I will say that I normally like Hampton Inn. But this Hampton Inn tested me and not in a good way. Until they give me free parking and renovate this hotel, I will not stay here again. And for the price they are charging? I want a freshly renovated room that is clean and more importantly, quiet.

This place isn't bad or good -- it's a solid average…read more First, the rooms are clean, and that goes a long way. If I feel like a place isn't clean, then I'm out. The rooms are clean, but tired out. Our bathroom door didn't close all the way because it was swelled or hung wrong, but it just didn't fit the doorway. This was our second room, because the first room, with -- "No Smoking Room" in fancy script on the door -- smelled like a cigar bar. I walked two feet into the room, said, "Oh HELL no," and we went straight back to the front desk. We were given the room right next door (also with fancy script on the door), and the front desk clerk was right behind us with an air purifier for the room we'd abandoned. I don't know how well that purifier worked, but suffice to say, a non-smoking room...isn't. Our other issue with our room was that the card keys just wouldn't hold their programmed codes. We had to go back down to the front desk multiple times, get the keys re-programmed, we got all new keys...they just didn't work consistently. I finally resorted to having my key reprogrammed every time I was returning to the hotel just to avoid having to go back to the front desk after trying in vain to get the door opened. The hotel provides a decent breakfast -- a little short of what most similar hotels offer, but there is plenty to eat. They had the usual waffle machine, cereal selections, instant oatmeal, and eggs and sausage. No yogurt or fresh fruit was available, and the bread selections were individually packaged muffins and white bread for toast -- no bagels. The hotel's location is in a ho-hum spot -- about a block from railroad tracks and behind a small private airport, but we didn't hear any noise from either one. However, the hotel is in a light commercial area with nothing too interesting in the immediate vicinity. It's an acceptable home base if you're going to be out doing other things all day and just need a place to lay your head at night.

The room was sufficient, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was okay. There was a bad smell when we walked in the room, the pillows were not comfortable, and the toilet seat lid would not stay up. Overall the hotel was okay with some good and some not-so-good things.

I was nervous when we pulled up since it was so close to the highway and airport about how noisy it might be. All I needed was a clean place to sleep and shower. From the moment we arrived, I got 5 star service. The front desk employees were cheerful and friendly. I noticed that they had "I've been vaccinated" buttons on and I remarked that I didn't even get a sticker for my vaccine. The female employee told me that the owner got them for the staff so that if customers saw them without a mask then they knew they were vaccinated. I thought that was a nice touch for peace of mind especially during this COVID Delta surge. We later had to ask the desk if they had a toothbrush, which they did, and offered us toothpaste as well. Our room was clean and neat. The entire hotel looks clean. Now it might be pure exhaustion talking here but the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. And I am very picky, especially with pillows. Our stay was a 2/5 expectation for me but it was everything I needed plus clean, comfortable and a pleasant staff. I would 100% recommend it if you're in need of a good place to stay in Auburn.

The rooms were remodeled apparently so the furniture and interior isn't so bad but there were some stains and lack of service available. They were out of towels and it took a while to get ahold of someone from the front desk. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast there but I heard it's better than most motels. They ran out of coffee around noon and I had to ask them to bring out more coffee to the reception. Unfortunately the whirlpool hot tub was also broken and dirty so it wasn't running at all. The bath tub also doesn't allow you to use the drain plug so I was not able to take a bath. Other than these issues, the value is expected for the price I paid for. It is one of the cheapest hotels to stay in Auburn and nearby.
