Never been happier with a guy I bought a car from. In the past, I have despised the car purchasing process. Has felt like a game of cat and mouse. Especially with Dodge and Dodge personnel. With Dodge, I always felt like I just got beat, but couldn't place exactly how or where. Dodge is terrible. Dodge people are terrible. I used to be a Ford guy, by the way. Had an E-250 my whole life. I went with the Promaster. Ruined my life. Everything went wrong with it. Transmission. A new fan EVERY single year because their fan assemblies eat themselves and leave you stranded. I have the invoices! My guy Jeff the mechanic giggles every time! Happened this year in Scranton. The year before in Midtown Manhattan. But, I digress... Austin was different. He was knowledgeable and low pressure. Took time to walk us thru the benefits of each level of trim. We were about done when I threw - unintentionally - a curveball at him about getting a Duramax variant. He was able to quickly locate one and that's the one we got. Duramax = happiness. A lot of folks break balls over this younger generation of Americans. Don't know how old Austin is, but he's got to be half my age. They are definitely less out spoken, but I think they're more trust worthy. At least that's my take away with Austin. No push. Just present with knowledge and details at the ready. Royal GMC of Sussex, NJ, earns this review based solely upon the actions of the car salesman, Austin and their "policy" of not accepting deposits until the purchaser gets approved for financing. I let him know on Thursday evening, after test driving two vehicles that I was going to buy the truck instead of the SUV. I offered to leave a deposit at that time at which time I was told was not necessary. Austin wasn't working the following day but asked that I sent in the info on my trade anyway. I sent all info on the trade on Friday morning. I heard back from him on Saturday afternoon that he received the info needed. Not hearing anything from them on Monday morning I reached out at 12:30 and was told that he was finalizing everything asap. 6 hours later I got a text asking if my trade was paid off. I replied yes. 8pm I finally received the "deal sheet" to review. I agreed to the trade value and the full asking price for the new truck. I asked him to call me in the morning to finalize the deal and sign whatever paperwork he needed signed. Again, nothing Tuesday morning as requested. Finally Tuesday at 5pm they sent me the paperwork to esign which I did immediately. As soon as I finished signing the contract I get a call from Austin telling me that someone came in and bought the truck at that moment. Long story short, after waiting on them for three full business days they sold the car to another person without calling or texting. As an owner of a contracting company and owner of roughly 20 trucks we were looking to move away from the Fords due to transmission issues. I was hoping to start a relationship with Royal GMC and replace the Fords with GMCs as needed. I still might swap them with GMC but it certainly will not be with Royal. Either this is blatant dishonesty or just utter incompetence--the latter is not what I want to be working with, especially when it comes to serious money. The value of my time is not something that should be ignored, and when it's promised, it means absolutely nothing. Being treated in this way is just what people complain about when it comes to car sales. If you're considering doing business with Royal GMC, be extremely cautious. And if they send you to Austin, do yourself a favor and stay away. You can't trust him to speak the truth or even deal with you, a customer, on a professional level. read more

went in for recall on rear toe links. Repair was done and they were supposed to do a 4 wheel alignment as per the Cadillac service/recall notice. When I got home I noticed the alignment spec sheet had the front passenger side way out of spec so called the service manager, Kane. He told me it was nothing to worry about but if I had any trouble to let him know. So, one and a half months later my front passenger tire is almost bald on the inside. Called Kane and he stated they did not touch the front alignment and they only changed the non-adjustable toe links with ADJUSTABLE toe links so they only did alignment on rear. This is the exact opposite of Cadillac's recall which states they are replacing the defective ADJUSTABLE toe links with NON-ADJUSTABLE toe links. Anyone can verify this with a quick internet search. He refused to correct the problem and stated what do you expect with 170,000 miles. I had no tire wear problems before they worked on my vehicle. Ended up having to take it to Mavis to get it properly aligned. Do not recommend Royal Buick. read more

I bought a 2016 Ram bighorn back in August of 2022. A supposed certified used car. Upon receipt of the car, the brakes were completely shot, metal on metal grinding, the emergency break line just about hanging off the truck, then the engine light comes on before I reach home with said vehicle. code reads a small evap leak. After numerous calls to the dealership with no answer, I decided to just walk in. This is a $26,000 truck mind you with 72,000. After having to argue with the owner, manager and others they agree to fix the evap leak, today is May 12th 2023, there's still an evap leak and the manager MARK don't return phone calls and accused me of making the light come on myself. Stating I did not want the truck. I want the truck I just need it to pass state inspection which it will not because of the check engine light. The law clearly states the dealership must guarantee state inspection if it don't pass and repairs are not made the buyer is intitled to a full refund of the purchase. This company sold me a heavy duty truck with a bad torque converter (making it useless for towing). They sold it with a plow frame that they then asked for back a week after the sale. The truck cannot pass NJ state inspection with a bad torque converter. They also took 9 days to repair a recall and replace a windshield. After the 9 days I received the truck still having a broken windshield. I understand 30 day Warranties but I had the truck for about 60 days drove it 800 highway miles (no towing) and now it isn't drivable without further damage. When taken in for repair, the solution was a measly 10% off which I was able to work out to 500$ off a 3000$ repair. Still not satisfied as it does not seem logical that a torque converter would go bad from simply driving it 800 highway miles. If I would have towed with this truck the day I bought it, I'd need a whole new transmission today....disappointing customer sales service. read more

On Monday, January 18th I left a $1000 deposit for a vehicle that was to be picked up on Friday, January 22nd. On Tuesday, January 19th, I called to cancel the vehicle. On Wednesday, January 20th the salesman, Kevin Rudolph returned my call and tried to offer a better price, and to talk me out of my plan to wait 60 days so I could increase my credit score. On Thursday, January 21st I called to confirm cancellation and would return in 60 days to purchase the vehicle. On Friday, January 22nd, Kevin called to advise me that he would need to speak with his manager about returning my deposit, since they had added a light option to the vehicle (this option only increased the value of the vehicle). 2/1 I left a message for Marc, the finance manager and co owner, as I had not received a return call or a refund. 2/4 I left another voicemail for Marc, the finance manager and co owner as I still had not received a return call or a refund. 2/8 I called and the customer sales rep looked up my information, apologized for the significant delay and assured me it would be handled immediately. 2/8 Kevin returned my call and apologized for forgetting to call to get my credit card information, and assured me it would be processed immediately. 2/11 I called to follow up and a customer service rep again reviewed the information, and stated that the office manager had been out for a few days but would process the refund immediately, and would email me a receipt confirming the refund. 5 hours later, there has been no email with the confirmation of return of my refund. It has now been more than three weeks since I cancelled the contract and even after multiple attempts to contact them, and after multiple promises that the refund would be processed immediately, there has been no action on Royal Buick's side to return my money. I was very pleased with my service visit today. Andrew Wilson was my Service Advisor today. This was my first visit for service to this dealership. Aside from my 45K Service, I also had them check on an issue I'd been experiencing since the beginning of August 2018 that unfortunately, Grand Prize GMC was unable to resolve after a half dozen attempts or so. After about 2 minutes of conversation with Andrew, not only did he have knowledge of my issue, but reflected upon a Service Bulletin put out by GMC in regards. This was a complete contradiction of what I'd been told at Grand Prize. Nonetheless, my issue was resolved. I am grateful that Andrew for one, was on top of his game and aware of things like Service Bulletins, which is a necessity for issues that can't be e immediately resolved. purchased a certified used vehicle from them at 30,000 miles transmission had a catastrophic failure and left us on the side of the road. dealer would not give us a loaner so we were left without a vehicle for about 20 days. they replaced the transmission and 2 months later we had another issue and began getting error codes for the transmission. we brought the vehicle back and indicated that we'd like to trade it for something comparable since there is clearly major issues with the vehicle. the dealer gave us options that would cost us double our current payment or alternatively more than $100 per month. they also failed to respond to GM until GM asked for a manager. it should be noted that we paid full price for the vehicle when we purchased and did not negotiate and now they are leaving us high and dry with a severely defective vehicle. They literally currently have my exact vehicle color and miles and yet still expect me to pay more money per month. read more

I drove 2 and a half hours to leave with a truck that was supposed to be ready for me. During test drive it was apparent it was never even checked for me since the truck barely ran. There was more scratches than were discussed. The tires had bald spots which he tried to cover up. The salesman Tony argued with my sister because she was finding things wrong. I was told he could negotiate the price but he never budged. I put 500 down to hold the vehicle until it was checked out fully which he said is refundable and i would have no problems getting it back. Well you guessed it i cant have my money back because he had tires put on when i never agreed to buy the truck until it was looked over. Now im at loss for his mistake. So I made an appoitment for an oil change and to have my driver's door and mirror looked at. I was very pleased with everything! That was until I went to get into my car. I tried to closed the door and it was now banging. I immediately went inside to the service advisor. He came out and thought it being worse then it came in was ok. Thats because he had ordered a part for it and it would be corrected when I came back within the next few days. Seriously??? I was also told they fixed my mirror. Wrong, I still have the same problem. Oh and my present left for me was a dirty greasy door handle inside my car as well as grease sprayed on the outside of drivers door below my mirror on a white car. When I got home I fixed my door on my own so it now closes properly and cleaned off the grease they left on it. Oh and one of the two of the screws to my door jam was left loose as well! I really do not want to go back for the part put in that they ordered. Or to get more grease left on my door when they try to fix my mirror. read more
