Looks great from the outside. But boy was it deceiving.

My work booked myself and others rooms for the week. Upon arrival it immediately was apparent that we were not going to enjoy this place. The smell of curry and other foods overpowered the building. The parking situation is terrible and you most likely have to back your vehicle all the way out. My room had hardwood floors that were sticky and the room smelled like mildew and mold. Others had urine stains on their sheets and mattresses. Food left in the microwaves and in the refrigerators. Even what looked like fecal matter on the wall near the outlet in the bathroom. I was planning on taking a shower in the morning until I grabbed a towel and it was wet before anyone used it. We stayed one night, packed our stuff and left. I do not recommend staying here even if it's a last resort. Do yourself a favor and just sleep in your vehicle.

Here's what was found when checking into our room.. Gross!

I don't have much time to write so simply, DON'T STAY HERE! Dirty, not clean, smells, and our room had trash in it as a signified probably wasn't even cleaned. Being owned by America's Best Value Inn I would hope some integrity is given to bring this place and staff up to standards, the Cherry on top is someone's dirty clothes was left in restroom, GROSS! Oh did I mention that when I mentioned it to the front desk staff thier exact words was "Oh, sorry bout that" seriously, not even offering a genuine apology or gratitude. Much training and work needed here.

Horrible service. Parking lot is very inconvenient. Place is dingy & not taken care of. Breakfast is a joke. Go somewhere else..

As many of you know, I mostly review eating establishments but occasionally branch out. The Inn itself is cozy, comfortable, and extremely homelike and charming in so many ways, especially among the furnishings, memorabilia, and amenities like coffee and water stations. Let me, however, concentrate on breakfast... yes, the food which is AMAZING. Rhonda and team are such talented chefs, and the food was not only mouthwatering delicious but very creative. The initial cream filled pear was such a delicious treat and everything that followed, the tiny quiche, skewer of savory flavor, etc. were extraordinary. Honestly, I have had many B&B breakfasts, and this surpassed them all. I highly recommend the Inn and commend Rhonda and Fred for creating a wonderful experience for their guests.

I pride myself in leaving factual yelp reviews so here I go. -Location is PERFECTLY a short block away from the hustle bustle of the Main Street for coffee, bagels, meals, shopping, or maybe even a scoop of ice cream -Check in/out process was so warm and hospitable -We stayed in the Prospector Room because we were traveling with our dog, so took value in the private patio. Our room was cozy and spotless. Thankful for the AC unit as we visited on a hot weekend. Our dog enjoyed relaxing in the shaded patio. Our bed was comfy, more on the soft than firm, but did not hurt my back whatsoever. -OMG THE BREAKFAST. Kim is an UH-mazing cook. Perfect portion, flavor, not too heavy/complex, but certainly delicious. I am glad to have visited Sonora, but not sure if I'd make it an annual trip, to replace it with Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, or Napa. Nothing terrible happened, but I didn't have my socks knocked off either. Maybe it was the hot weather...not sure! If you plan on visiting Gold Country, do stay at the Bradford Place Inn and Gardens! We will.

Kim (Owner) was so wonderful, sweet and very accommodating to my wife's dietary needs etc., when preparing our delicious breakfasts. Each day, our breakfast was prepared fresh, warm and delicious. We loved this old Victorian home, it's beautiful. Some rooms, like ours, have a private patio area connected to your room. Very relaxing... Although, we don't have any pets, this place is "pet friendly". Next time, we're in the area, we'll be staying here again. Kim is such a gracious hostess and good person. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you staying here... I found this place to be very reasonable, relaxing, beautiful and includes a delicious breakfast, compared to a typical "no tell motel"!!!

We arrived to Sonora by way of Ebbetts Pass, winding down through crystal alpine lakes, faerytale meadows and boulders and forests that speak in quiet and ancient tongues. The pass opened upon amber grasses contrasted against lovely sagey-colored trees and verdant yet rugged vineyards. It turns out the Victorian-inspired Barretta Gardens is overseen with a care as golden as the hue of sepia-colored days gone past and motherlodes once legendary for their bounty. Yet breakfasts are as simple, elegant and memorable as any contemporary B&B can boast. The proprietors Astrid and Daniel run an inn as refreshing as the Moroccan mint tea set out every afternoon to greet us from a hot day exploring Gold Country. We found Barretta Gardens flexible and welcoming to our two boys as well. Our only suggestion is that if they choose to turn off each room's A/C while guests are away for the day that they would turn it back on in anticipation for their return in the evening. Baretta Gardens B&B is a rare treasure I hope more visitors to the area will mine for years more to come.

National Hotel Jackson by Hilton, Jackson, CA…read more I'm staying here tonight in Jackson, California, at the National Hotel. It's an older motel-style property with a lot of history, and it shows in a charming, mixed-modern way. Historic charm + updated touches:** The hotel has kept its vintage character while updating as much as possible. You can really feel the history in the design, artifacts, and mirrored features spread throughout the building. The carpets are clean, I've walked on them with white socks and nothing is coming up or looking worn. Just one small smudge spotted, which isn't a big deal for me. Wi-Fi is Fast and reliable, which is great for staying connected for work. The front desk staff is amazing. Tamara, in particular, was kind, patient, and helped me check in my room smoothly. It's all-around excellent service. There are interesting artifacts and standout mirror features that add to the character of the place. Parking is across the street and you have to cross a small bridge. The parking is covered, which is nice, but the walk with luggage can be a pain for a solo traveler. I hoped for a larger bath to soak in, but the tub was quite small--barely fit. If soaking is important to you, this might be a disappointment. Some of the drawers are a bit beat up and hard to operate; they don't always slide smoothly back into place. Breakfast starts at 6:00 AM, which is rough if you need to be at work early (like me at 5 AM). A later start or grab-and-go option would be nicer for early-risers. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 4 stars for the staff and the overall feel. It's a thoughtfully kept historic hotel that leans into its roots while still offering practical amenities like fast Wi‑Fi and clean rooms. If you're in Jackson for business or a short stay and can roll with the older-motel layout, you'll likely enjoy it. Tips for future guests It's old and creaky - light sleepers forget it. If you're solo and luggage-heavy, check in first and then grab a trolley. If soaking is important, you might want to set expectations for a standard tub rather than a soaking tub. If breakfast timing is critical for you, arrange a backup plan. Would I stay here again? Yes, for the staff, charm, and value. If you're drawn to historic hotels with character and solid service, this is a good pick in Jackson.

This place is a cozy, green oasis in one of the cutest towns in America, and the value is incredible. They let us have the run of the place for the whole weekend while we hosted and set up. The staff made it feel like home -- such kind and lovely people. Breakfast for our wedding party was included. Anything we asked for, they made it happen, and we were able to control every aspect of the event: bar, catering, etc. Another perk I didn't anticipate was a 360 view of the venue from the bridal suite, which allowed me to keep an eye on everything while I was getting ready. The suite is basically an apartment, with a full kitchen we were able to cater our rehearsal dinner out of. Most of our guests were able to stay the weekend and walk to the venue from their hotels (they make it easy with their sister hotel the Victoria Inn and associated rentals). Our wedding was a dream that we're sad to wake up from. If this place calls to you, do not hesitate to book.
