Never saw anyone. Checked in through the office phone. Our room key was under the doormat in front of our room... it's that way for EVERY room. The room was covered in hair on the sink, table, shower, toilet, floor, you name it. It was a lot of hair too. The bathroom has a timed heater which is nice. The room has a huge tv which is also nice. The room chairs are uncomfortable and there is no clock or phone in the room so you never know what time it is unless you're looking at your phone. Wildwood Inn Motor Lodge was more than I expected and it was wonderful to be able to walk to a convenience store and restaurants. I truly was not expecting much from the Wildwood but they really did make my stay a wonderful one. I arrived a bit earlier than check in time and they quickly checked to see if my room was ready and passed their COVID safety checks. They graciously allowed me to check in early so I could take a conference call. The room was very clean and in much better condition than I expected. It was comfortable and the heater worked great which was well needed in the middle of February. There was plenty of parking and it is super quiet in Twain Harte. They do have the vending and ice machines closed due to COVID so hit up the local convenience store if you need ice. read more

I only planned on staying one night! I added an additional three nights. It's hard to find such a clean, well put together hotel for a great price! I never expected the room (Deluxe Queen Room) to be so big, of course I wanted to stay! I really appreciate that the heater/shower/refrigerator worked so well, I was warm and my food stayed at the right temperature in the fridge. They haven't slacked on maintaining this hotel. I hope to be back soon, what a big peaceful room to enjoy on vacation! read more

Lovely hotel in the center of town. Couple of restaurants within walking distance. I really enjoyed China house. Free parking and WiFi. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was perfect for what I needed. It was clean, but the room really needs a good deep cleaning sometime soon. I loved the fact that they had a refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker in the room. Room 4 (where I stayed) is however behind the stairs on the first floor. And had the ice machine right out front. That woke me up several times throughout the night, so was not thrilled with the location of the room. And there was no natural light at all in the room, being behind the stair case. I will definitely stay here again, but I will request a different room next time. Pool and hot tup were not open yet unfortunately. Overall it was a lovely place to stay for the $110/night price point. I do highly recommend if you are looking for a nice spot to rest for a couple nights. read more

We love staying here, this is our third time. Great price. Friendly staff, as much coffee, tea and flavored creamers as you'd like without them judging you lol Love the real key you get for your room. Rooms are clean, bed is medium firmness and softness. Small showers and toilets seem outdated ...you have to hold the handle down when flushing. Continental breakfast only served in certain months which is odd... it is decent but it's first come first serve as they run out. Lots of places near by to shop eat and drink at. Twain Harte is a cute little town with the casino 15 minutes away. read more

We stayed at Wildwood for a couple nights so we could be in town for a graduation, and be there to visit with family. We loved the hotel and the people working there, Chris, Nina & Sara! Super comfortable hotel, and they were helpful with extra coffees etc. the Barn Swallows were great fun to watch feeding their babies in their nests! ** the only thing I would add back in is the continental breakfast! ** That would have been awesome! Maybe by next time we visit they will have brought it back?! Nina let us know about the outhouse races that were going on the day we left. Great location. Comfortable. If your below, the second level can be loud. Could be a bit clearer. I could see were there was still coffee on the counter and it was just wiped around the spill. The fitted sheet had spill marks on the side. It would terrible to think they are only spraying a disinfectant and not stripping the sheets. I watched the room get cleaned next to us, never saw sheets come out. Cutting corners with cleaning is NOT a good practice. Find a place that practice sanitation. read more

Unfortunately something of value was taken from our room while we were out. A housekeeping staff member was the only person who entered the room, according to motel security cameras/manager/owner. Even more strange, the stolen item was replaced with something else (not belonging to me). We spoke to the owners at check-out, they said they would "take care of it...don't worry". The owners have been extremely uncommunicative. Without any explanation/call, they credited our card 75% of the item's worth because they said it was used! We're so disappointed that motel staff went through our things and felt violated that last night of our Father's Day weekend trip. Terrible response and irresponsible management. Found this place online & booked one of the non-refundable king bed rooms for one night as we were just passing through. We were ahead of schedule & tried to check in about 2:00. Was told no, check in is 3:00 & come back. Advised that we never saw this & the guy at the desk just said check in is 3:00. So we left & came back. We're given our key & headed up. Room seemed somewhat updated. However duct tape was holding a lamp together & the room had a "strange order". Not enough to want to leave. We headed out to explore & came back about 10:00 pm. No parking in the lot, so ended up on the street. Went to shower & gross, it was never cleaned- hair everywhere. Office was closed, so no one to mention it to. Got up and got ready to check out & was going to mention it to front desk- still were not open at 10:00 am, check out is 11:00. The only reason for the 3 stars was the location & price. read more

The best part about this hotel is its convenient location. It is ok, but could be a little cleaner and the wifi is spotty. The websites adversities free continental breakfast but there is no such thing available. They really need to take that down. I booked this hotel through Booking.Com who listed this property as 44 miles from my destination. Turns out the hotel was 130 miles away. It was too far out of our way and couldn't make it. I contacted the hotel immediately. They only refunded me one half of the amt I paid, even though we never stayed there. Poor customer service. read more

Over priced. Paid for a room advertised as king en suite with bath. It was no such thing, tiny shower, no bath. Phone in room did not work. Hot tub was luke warm. Staff was unfriendly. Loud music played downstairs from our room until 3am and nothing done about it. Will not be returning. read more

This place was ok overall. Room was clean and the owner was attentive to requests. Breakfast could be improved as it is pretty bare minimum. Water/soda machine was broken. Pool was cold. Jacuzzi worked one day but next day it would not heat up. The owner's family is nice and professional. Noise levels were fine. Various guests during our stay smoked right in front of our room on the balcony. Considering the demographic of the guests (older bikers with their girlfriends) I guess it is not surprising. I stayed here for work for 2 weeks. I never write reviews but I loved it. The rooms gave me a cabin feel which I loved. Everything is close by within walking distance mostly. Everyone in this town is very nice. The manager here is very nice and personable. He opened the office just so I could use the printer and fax machine. Awful experience- unprofessional and highly offensive staff- dirty room- poor service. This is what happened: Booked two Thanksgiving nights for our grown children. The charge on my card was held for both nights. When checking in my son-in-law was required (against his protest) to have drivers license copied along with his credit card placed on file. On the 2nd night (evening before check-out) ANITA called demanding my signature on some emailed documents. While reviewing the email I received another call from my daughter. Nice cozy little spot. Stayed overnight cause we had some drinks and didn't want to have to drive back to the bay at night. The only thing that sucked was that we wanted to take a dip in the pool before we left. Check out was 11 or 12 and the pool was not open. It was a clean room and the ac worked to keep us cool when it was a 90 degree night. Staff was friendly as were the people in this town. We were given the "cave" room, a room that had no windows other than one window that looked directly into the laundry room wall. There was no natural light coming into the room at all, and it was lit by strange looking yellow lights. We told the manager that we could not stay in that room, and she did not offer to change our room or make any adjustment on the full rate we were being charged. She told me that, I told you there was no view, as if that let me know that the place was like an oversized closet. We did not use the room and drove home the same day. I don't remember his name, but the young man working the front desk was great. Very helpful, very friendly and very accommodating. He even went out of his way to turn the hot tub back on for us after it had been shut down. The rooms are old-school motor lodge style, with nothing to write home about but a David Lynch-like feel to them. The bed was comfy, and if it wasn't for hearing the creepy couple next to us rocking the bed, we'd have slept uninterrupted. I looked on all the websites and every hotel was far more than this little gem, I was a little worried that maybe it would be a poor hotel. I have to say that I was upset about the undisclosed 15$ pet charge that was not on priceline.com and something also to be aware of is that the cost at the hotel is 89 and the cost online is 69. Sau who is the Manager of the hotel was really friendly, remembered my name and also was very easy to deal with. I have to say I would recommend him and his customer service. The rooms are very clean and very nice, the TV is a little aged but it works fine and there is plenty of cable to watch, the TV's have controlled volume so if you have bad hearing, your screwed! I would recommend this place, and I plan on staying here again. read more

Me and the family came up here a couple weeks ago. My wife, daughter, and her family have been here previously, but it was my first time here. I guess they have changed ownership in the recent past as well. The room itself was nice. I didnt expect a 5 star hotel, but what we got was pretty good. Two well made beds, a flat screen tv (kinda small), a fridge and microwave (pretty awesome for late night snacks!), and a decent bathroom. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice, very helpful, and just seemed to be very happy and eager to help. That was a welcome change, since most of the time the person behind the counter seems miserable. So thanks for being in a great mood! The parking lot was very limited, coming back to the hotel at night, i was hard pressed to find a spot bit enough to fit my Tundra. But we managed. The only problem, if you can call it one, was that we found a small water leak coming from the ceiling in our bathroom above the shower. It didnt bother us, but i made sure to let the guy at the desk know. He immediately offered to move us to a new room. I declined, because we were leaving in the morning and it didnt bother us much. Overall, this a nice little hotel, and we will definitely be back! Oh, one last note.. please increase the speed and range of your Wi-Fi! We loved that it was made available to us, but it would rarely connect, and when it did, it was very slow! read more

Be very careful using Booking.com. I thought I booked a room with two double beds on July 4. THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE MISTAKE. The first page on Booking.com advertised the room for $73.99. I chose the date July 4. The next page asked me to press on the button RESERVE. When I pressed the button RESERVE, it took me to a page that charged me $73.99. On March 9, I received an email from Wildwood saying that they were charging me for the NO SHOW. I couldn't understand how this happened. I wrote informing them that I had booked a room on July 4, please correct the error. They wrote, according to policy they will charge me for the NO-SHOW. Yesterday, I received a special offer from Booking.com. I tried booking the room on July 4 again. After indicating July 4 on the first page, Booking.com took me to a second page. Voila -- my reserved date was changed to March 15! WOW, this is super confusing. If you don't look closely at EVERY SINGLE PAGE on Booking.com, even though the user enters the requested date on the FIRST PAGE, you can end up with a booking on the wrong date on the second page. To add insult to injury, you will be charged for a NO SHOW. I wrote to the Innkeeper at Wildwood AND Booking.com. Neither would help me. With tax, this mistake cost me $81.39. read more

Our friend found the Wildwood Inn as part of a relatively last-minute search for lodging during a Presidents' Day weekend ski trip to Dodge Ridge. I wasn't sure what to expect, as we've never been to Twain Harte and certainly not to the Wildwood Inn. All in all, the rooms were basic but clean and equipped with the minimum necessities for a family (small refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV, etc.). The bedding, furniture and bathroom all appeared clean. Everything in the room functioned well with the exception of a "sticky" toilet that didn't flush well (but someone addressed it as soon as I brought it to their attention). Compared to the motel rooms at Pinecrest Lake and the older cabins at Pinecrest Chalet, these rooms would be comparable (maybe even a notch up). The inn appears to be run by a family and each family member I spoke to was friendly and helpful. It wasn't terribly noisy as it was off the main road and our room was on the second floor (my experience may have been different if our room was on the first floor). The best amenity for our traveling group of families with young children was the proximity to a small park nearby. My only gripe was that the room cost $200/night - which in my humble opinion was a bit steep for a motel room 30 minutes away from Dodge Ridge. Otherwise, we had a hassle-free stay. read more

I stayed here in July, before I was a member of Yelp, and would have given Wildwood a four star rating then. So, I had a return trip to Twain/Harte, I eagerly made my reservation. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered a much higher rate, only because I forgot to mention the rate I received in July. In July I got a room for $99, in October the room was $135. Shrugs, oh well. I like the hotel's location, and the rooms are fine. But the bathroom was filthy, and my wife had to scrub the floor because the soles of our feet where black with dirt. read more

Totally cozy, cheap spot. The young guy at the front desk is knowledgeable and super friendly. Came up here with the kids for a snow weekend. They loved it. I loved the Priceline rate of $59/night. Totally central to walk to all the stores and restaurants Twain Harte has to offer. And of course easy drive to the snow and other attractions. We are on a road trip and didn't plan lodging ahead of time. We called to check availability/pricing ($120.99 w/ tax) and asked the lady that answered the phone if she could wait the 15 minutes for us to physically get there to finish the booking. She said that was fine. When we arrived the same young lady was very helpful in assisting us get the room squared away and telling us all the places we could grab dinner. The room is basic, 2 queen beds, mini-fridge, flat screen TV, Kuerig coffee maker w/ pods, etc. It's clean and quiet. Reminds me of the ones in Bishop, CA. We would stay here again. We live in Las Vegas and this room and customer service is better quality than some of the hotels on the strip. read more

I'm disgusted by the conditions of this place after waking up feeling intensely itchy. I realized I had many bites throughout my body not only that but there was blood spots on the sheets. This place has bedbugs. Do not stay here! After realizing this, I talked to the front desk and notified them of the conditions and they took it very lightly. I held my composure and told them politely, if I could get any compensation since I paid top dollar for this place and I could be leaving with bedbugs.
