What a disappointing experience. Van in for service. I called four days in a row for an update, no call back. The fifth day I spoke with a manager. He "promised" to get me an answer the next day. (My rental was costing 1000 per week). No call the next day. I called. He was on staff and said that we would receive a call first thing Monday. No call. I called and learned the manager was off Monday. I called and asked for the owner. He never called back. My spouse called the next day and asked for a call back. No call back. The van sat at dealership for 8 days before service was scheduled for" three hours". On the scheduled day for service called to learn, "not enough time", scheduled for next morning. Called the next morning, mid morning, to learn it hadn't been looked at yet. "Would be soon". I own a business and understand being short staffed. What happened to customer service? Just a call back with updates, staying on schedule? Very disappointing. Van still not done at the time of this review. read more

Customer service needs to be better. Seems like no one is ever there. They are more concerned with the profit they could make on one repair rather than trying to achieve loyal customers. Also the first time I've gotten a vehicle back from a dealership where then didn't even rinse it off. Worst experience I've ever had with a dealership before. I don't even want to give them a star! I went in for my yearly inspection, needless to say they would not approve my car just because I had not been there for about a year! Now mind you, I bought the car from them and had oil change packages from them for the whole nine years I've had the car except this past year. To pass inspection, they said my car needed several different things fixed like, my rear rotors, a power steering leak, CV joint and something else that all totaled over $2000. I opted out for them fixing everything and got a second opinion from a friends trusted mechanic. The only thing that was true was the CV joint, which cost only half of what Royal wanted to charge me. I am truly disappointed in how bad they want screw me over after years of being a loyal customer. I would not ever recommend Royal to anyone! Very seldom do I take the time to write a review for auto dealerships because typically it's not a good experience, however it was completely different with Royal Chrysler. From start to finish, the team was professional straightforward and honest. I felt like I was dealing with old friends rather than salespeople. I would have given 0 stars if it would have let me. I want everyone one to know what unprofessional crooks the service department is. My 18 year old daughter went there for an oil change and inspection and they took the opportunity to try and take advantage of a young lady that they expected to be gullible and unsuspecting. They told her she failed the inspection and would need new brakes and it would cost approximately $1700-$1800. Mind you my daughter drive from Ma to NY not one problem, not one sound coming from the brakes,no problems slowing down, no problem stopping. My husband also had driven the car prior to bring it to Royal and no issues. She called me and I told her absolutely not. So she told them no, they charged her for the failed inspection and removed the sticker from her window and gave her a " get out of jail free" note to show the troopers if she gets pulled over. Knowing that the price they quoted her was totally absurd, we brought the car to our mechanic and they checked the brakes and $320 later my daughter has née brakes and an inspection. You people at Royal Dodge should be ashamed of yourselves. How you sleep at night is beyond me. The only reason my daughter was even there is because I bought an oil change package for her. Where to begin... The driveway and parking lot are a sheet of ice. My mother slipped and nearly fell on the sidewalk. The have a handicapped spot, and the sign for it conveniently blocks wheelchairs from using the sidewalk (which the guy at the counter laughed about). The showroom/waiting room is somehow colder than the outdoors, and their phone rings over the loudspeaker so loud, you can probably hear it from across the street. If your car needs a part, they'll be happy to order it for you and call you when it gets in... provided you call them several days later and remind them to do so. Bring hand sanitizer; the woman at the pay window enjoys licking her fingers. At least she isn't walking behind customer cars who are backing out of the driveway or talking to you like you're an idiot, like some of the other employees. read more

As soon as I walked in it felt like I was a long time customer. They took the time to listen to what vehicle would fit my needs rather than sell me on what they wanted. The went out of there way to find the truck I desired . It truly was a hassle free process. Jimmy, Scott and Steve made me feel like family. I had attempted three times to contact the dealer by phone and their web site. I had already picked-out the used car I wanted online, and was just waiting for someone to give me details and a price. When I did finally get to the dealership, I found a filthy showroom, and a very demeaning, all-male staff more interested in bad behavior that selling a car. And they were still hesitant to give me a price on the vehicle! The car I wanted is still on their lot after two weeks. Very sad, because I like to keep my business local. Absolutely DISGUSTING. CROOKS. I bought a car there and had nothing but problems with it the first week! I tried to deal with the owner Steven and he was so shady. He would never call back and when he did he would jerk me around. Everyone at that place that i had to deal with was absolutely revolting. I had to pay $5,000 for them to just take the car back when they sold me an absolute lemon!!! AND one of the salesmen forged my co-signers name on one of the online forms she was supposed to fill out. EVERYONE i talked to about this place knew someone else with a horror story. I went to trade in my car, they told me that I would get $500 in addition to the trade in as an incentive for being a repeat buyer. They gave me a price of $1500 which they said included my incentive. This was by far the lowest amount I was offered. I traded my vehicle in for $3000 at another dealership. When the salesman called to ask if I was still interested, I said no and told him what I got as a trade in and he said I was a liar. He can think whatever he wants, I got $1500 MORE then they offered. Shop elsewhere!!!! read more

If you love wasting tons of your money and time then Royal Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Oneonta, New York is the place for you. I have done business with this establishment for over three years, due to the location of my job. The service department loves to see your vehicle so much, that they never seem to fix the problem the first time. Or the second time. The third time seems to be the charm for them. They also love to charge you the premium price they for the wonderful service they give. For example, I was just quoted $240 for a replacement part without labor by this 5 STAR business. Because I was suspicious of this so called "service department", the next day I had my vehicle look at by another dealership, they quoted $150 WITH labor for the exact same part. I can not stress enough, PLEASE BEWARE of this business if you are taking your vehicle for service!!!! Now that my job location has changed, I am glad I will never have to do business with Royal Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Oneonta, New York again. I hope their Sales department is better then the service deparment...kind of makes you go hmmmmmmmm?????? read more
