OK, I don't drink milk. I'm lactose intolerant. I normally just get soy milk an put that in my coffee. Lucky for me...milk is really the culprit so I can still eat most cheeses and anything cultured like yogurt or sour cream. My boyfriend LOVES milk, otherwise I never even would have tried these guys. No thanks, I don't need a delivery of bloatedness and bathroom time from any company. For non-milk people: They have the best string cheese and although they list it as being .40 cents cheaper than the grocery store...it's consistently a dollar or more less. Good find there. Also, their sour cream is the best sour cream I have ever had and is about .75 cents cheaper than the crap at the store. Lastly, they make and deliver green chile dip (with their sour cream in it) that is friggin delicious. Way to go Royal Crest from someone who never thought she would be your customer! read more

A door-to-door sales guy just rang my bell (next to the "do not solicit" sign). He was incredibly rude from the get-go, told me he doesn't care if a house has a no-solicit sign and muttered under his breath. I have been a Royal Crest customer for many years. I love the product and the service. Month after month and year after year my delivery guy braves blizzards and heat waves to make sure I have fresh dairy when I wake up. I have no complaints at all. The product is a bit expensive for me since I am on a fixed income, but having a fresh, great product delivered right to my door keeping me out of the car and the grocery store is priceless to me. If I go to the grocery store intending just to buy milk, it never fails that I walk out with at least $50 (usually more) out the door. Some of these reviews are just wrong. So I just hung up and canceled my service after a year with Royal Crest. During that year things were good..ish. Only twice did I leave a note to cancel a week's delivery and had it delivered anyway. I do enjoy the idea of supporting a local Colorado business. After calling them today to let them know that I would like to change my order from weekly to every other week I was told that it couldn't be done. I was told that I would have to log in every month and have to manually space my orders out myself. We put a rover on Mars and they have the nerve to tell me that they don't have the technology to make a weekly order every other week? It should be a business making things easier for the client not the other way around. No thanks Royal Crest. read more

We've been using Royal Crest for the last year now. We have fresh milk delivered every week, along with cheese and bread, and we love it! We have a milk box that sits outside of our front door and every Monday, we have fresh milk appear. It's so much better than grocery store milk and a really great chance to support local farms. This company is just fine. I could take it or leave it, and I have done both. To address other's concerns, they don't have a "payment upon receipt" system (you don't pay the delivery guy), so you need to set up an account on credit. Welcome to the 21st century. Yes, it's a bit of a pain. Get over it or go to King Stupids for your dairy. (Also, your account is purged after 6 months of non-use, so you have to reapply from scratch. That's a bit of a PITA. They might want to consider moving that out to a year, with the option to update payment info rather than do a complete new application.) Also, your delivery service really depends on the guy (or gal) delivering it, and that might vary by neighborhood. Our guy in NE Denver is spot-on, so I have no problems there. My big complaint has to do with the awkward, heavy gallon-size bottles with a the winky plastic "handle" that make the thing so darned difficult to pick up and pour. I'd happily trade that out for half-gallons, which are more manageable, if the half gallons were half the price, but they're not. So they lose at least a star for that. Also, because they aren't glass. I understand why they moved to plastic, but I really do prefer the glass. I cancelled my account about a year ago over the issue of extra "service" fees, but I notice that their flyer advertises no delivery fees at this time. I might reapply and see what happens. The milk itself is ok, better than nationally produced brands. I find it a little too sweet for my taste. The 1-1/2% is pretty good though. But I prefer Morning Fresh, which is not available for delivery in Denver and I don't want to schlep to Whole Paycheck for it. Royal Crest is the next best thing. I do wish they would carry Lactaid, which is what my son requires. We don't do processed soy, which is what they offer as a non-dairy alternative. I would, however, like to know more about the cows who produce the milk and the RCD website has virtually no info there. Are they fed corn? animal byproducts? grass? What are their living conditions? They do say no hormones are used, but that's a big whoop-dee-do, since hardly any US dairies do that anymore. It's too bad that there isn't more competition in the Denver area. I'd like to see a smaller producer who can meet my needs and preferences. But RCD may fit the bill for now. read more

A disgusting and reckless Royal Crest delivery driver. About six months ago, I contacted the Royal Crest office about their delivery driver for my area to complain about his urinating onto the street from while still inside his delivery truck. Do you think he washed his hands before handling your dairy delivery? Today, 07.08.14 at 5:05 a.m. while I was preparing to leave for work, he recklessly drove his truck down the street in passing gear around 40 MPH in a residential area that is posted for 25. I am neither impressed nor intimidated by his driving. I thought that by reporting the urinating in the street his behavior would have changed, it seems that I am very wrong. My next step is to now to file a report to the local P.D. and again with Royal Crest. I am not at all impressed by Royal Crest.. I would give zero stars but that is not an option. read more

My husband and I have used Royal Crest Dairy for the past year and are cancelling the service. We had to switch from Longmont Dairy because they no longer serviced where we were moving too. Longmont's milk tastes better and was cheaper. My biggest complaint with Royal Crest is their customer service. I have had to speak to a supervisor TWICE because I felt that I had been treated so poorly.I basically had a representative force me into cancelling because she didnt want to help me. My delivery was supposed to be at 6 am and the first one came at 2am, in July, in the midst of this heat wave. They left a gallon of milk, half gallon choc milk, half gallon OJ, butter, inside this wooden box with a single handful of 'snow' on top. :\ Eggs were left sitting OUTSIDE the box on the porch. They would have sat there from 2 am until 7 or 8 am if my dogs hadn't woke me up. I got the stuff brought in but lost some sleep. I called to complain, much apologizes, promises that next week the entire box would be "filled with ice" and the guy would come later. He was just here - at 1:00 am!! And there were TWO small handfuls of ice left on top of my dairy products. How in the world does this stuff not spoil? If I wasn't up to get it, it would be there from 1 am until 7 or 8 am! 6 hours in the sun in August in no refrigeration?? The products are good but not worth this - the cost is very high, also, so I feel like I'm take a big risk and losing sleep every Thursday night just to get my dairy. Not worth it. I'm cancelling. When notified there was no apology but just offered to redeliver. Once I'm ok with but 3 consecutive weeks!! Horrible company don't waste your time. We only had them a few months before having huge issues. We went out of town for a few weeks so I wrote skip on our order card (which is what the sales lady told us to do) they skipped us but then took the box after a few weeks. I had a card on file which auto paid. I got a bill a few months later they had still been charging me and argued that I didn't ever skip and they were still delivering. I was pissed and talked to the billing lady Donna... She was a horribly rude person arguing with me calling me liar and then she "put me on hold" except she didn't so I could still her in the background calling me f**king bi*** and saying horrible things. Here is my review on Royal Crest Dairy. I grew up on a ranch in New Mexico, good milk is something I grew up drinking. Royal Crest whole milk is better than I grew up drinking. Their chocolate milk is super rich and tastes great. Where all these bad reviews come from is unjust, it's so easy to change or skip a order. Prices may be high but why not pay a little bit more for good tasting milk it tastes better than the milk they sell in the stores. I love Royal Crest. I love the nostalgia of it, the products, the convenience, the ease and the freshness. Yeah, sometimes prices are higher than the grosh, but nothing major and the convenience is a HUGE bonus for me in the hectic craziness of my life. I also love that they have specialty seasonal products for a treat here and there. I would have given 5 stars but one time I had to call customer service about some milk that spoiled quickly and the lady who answered the phone did give quite an attitude, questioning me about what how long I left the milk in the box (I brought it in at 7am when we woke up), that it's not meant to sit outside for long periods of time, etc. She ultimately gave me a refund for that week but after asking for one gallon of milk to be refunded in the 3 years I had the service, you'd think I wouldn't need the inquisition. But her and her bad day aside, I love them. read more

Their products are wonderful, which is the entire reason I have their delivery. For some reason I can digest their milk better than anything I can get at the store, and if it gets me to drink more milk, then I'm doing it. Their other products are very good also. We go through butter, cheese, orange juice and apple juice fast with kids. I swear I have consumed less soda since starting milk delivery. I have the biggest problem with their delivery though. If you are a customer who never changes orders, then you should be fine with this company. But if you are like me, who can have large and different orders every week, then get ready for problems. I am not sure what to do about this either. I have placed my orders online in advance, updated the sheet (provided in the milk box) and still have glitches. It happens all of the time and I am getting really tired of it. I would have cancelled but I am back again to the problem of not finding anything in the store that I can digest like what they sell. Outside of all product packaging was always dirty. Had service for a month and a half. Got to wonder about their plants cleanliness if its dirty when delivered. We've been having Royal Crest deliver (on average) 3 gallons of milk/week for 4 yrs and I'll never go back to grocery store milk. I've been highly impressed with the product (2% milk) and equally impressed with the customer service. We've only had a few issues...once, less than what was ordered was delivered and they made a special delivery the following day and called to follow up. I can't recall the other issue, but they were extremely accommodating. We will continue with Royal Crest for as long as we drink milk! read more

Never got started with getting milk. The customer service from Ron changed my mind. He was rude said he couldn't help and kept interrupting me on the phone. I tried their service for several weeks and I am not impressed. Every week I had to call to complain about not receiving ice in my storage container to keep my items cool in the hot months. Every time I called to resolve this issue with a manager I was promised it would be addressed and fixed. I went through 3-4 managers and it never was resolved. I still received my items hot week after week. To the credit of Royal Crest they did replace my items later on in the day when I called to complain. It just became frustrating having to wait for my products. I do not understand why a company has such a miscommunication with its delivery service. So instead of waiting for them to fix their miscommunication between their delivery service I am canceling my service and getting my dairy products at a supermarket where I know it is stored cold. read more

I moved into my house almost 23 years ago and shortly after a representative from Royal Crest showed up. I loved the idea of home delivery since milk is heavy and just one more bag to carry in after shopping! Plus, I knew it would be high quality and I also love supporting small businesses. After all these years, I wouldn't know what to do without this service. The milk is delicious. So is the butter. I also regularly order cottage cheese, cream cheese, eggs, and of course, the cookie dough! It's scrumptious and convenient - make one cookie, or two dozen. If I've been too busy to get to the store, I will also order bread or bagels. As far as invoices go, I've had maybe one or two corrections needing to be made in over 20 years. Not a bad record! Denver is one of the few cities left in the US that has home milk delivery. Take advantage of it. It's awesome! read more

You would think that a local family owned business would have better customer service but it is the most rigid and least friendly group of people I have ever dealt with. I would NEVER recommend their service to anyone. We NEVER authorized Royal Crest to start delivering products to our house yet they started making deliveries and charged us for a month's worth of products that we never even used or wanted. The company really has horrible ethics because the salesman asked me "if you were to order products on a weekly basis, what would you order" - so I mentioned a few items but specifically told him I did not want to receive them and did not want to sign up and low and behold the food starts showing up every week and then I get charged for it. It's expensive try $5.20+ a gallon with a delivery fee. The milk smells funny, especially in the summer; I think it's detergent they use to clean the jugs. If you don't use up your previous weeks supply you better remember to cancel your order in advance or you will end up with 5 gallons in the fridge. It's easier and a lot cheaper to pick up an extra gallon at the store. I finally cancelled when they filed a frivolous lawsuit against the city of Fort Collins claiming that our 73 year ban on door to door solicitation was infringing on their 1st amendment right of free speech. So I'm exercising my right to say I will never do business with Royal Crest again and I will encourage my neighbors to do the same. read more

Let me start off by saying that they have great Milk and Chocolate Milk. My complaint comes from being billed for 7wks straight for Chocolate milk that I never received. Originally there was a conflict on which dates they we're supposed to deliver in my neighborhood and after changing my day of the week I stopped receiving my chocolate milk but still received My regular milk. I just figured somehow it got lost in translation and they weren't billing me for it anymore. ( I realize that was me being naïve ) I happened to notice my last bill being $50 and that's what made me dig in to find out why my bill was so high for just milk. After calling customer service they informed me that I've been charged for 7wks for chocolate milk that I've never received. They're response was "well we're sorry but can you prove that we didn't deliver it?" I just laughed and said Yes I can. I happen to have a very good surveillance system around my house and was able to go back and watch the delivery driver Only deliver milk and not the chocolate milk. Shortly after that I ended up with a supervisor and got my money refunded. The worst part is never once did they really ever seem concerned or fought to keep me as a customer. read more

After receiving weekly deliveries from Royal Crest for almost eight months now, I'm even more in love with them, their products and their service. Though I misread the bread bag label and found that their whole wheat does contain high fructose corn syrup, I still buy it because I make grilled cheese sandwiches like they are going out of style. And of course fried egg sandwiches for breakfast. I even lived off fresh tomato sandwiches all summer on the super light whole wheat bread. The egg prices have fluctuated between $1.59 and $1.99 per dozen but I'd pay twice that for eggs this fresh. A pint of half and half ($1.89) and tub of sour cream ($1.59) are both cheaper than you can find at the store. I did indulge in the egg nog over the holidays too and it made for some yummy whiskey cocktails, milkshakes and even muffins. Milk has stopped being a weekly order for me because we couldn't drink it fast enough, but it was easy to change my standing order online, as well as add a half gallon of milk to my order on occasion. My husband drinks the OJ daily. I've only ever had my delivery late one time, after our first big snowstorm back in October, and they called to let me know, plus it was only about an hour late. I've only ever had my order wrong once, when they left a dozen brown eggs instead of white, but they didn't charge me for the more expensive eggs. What I really love about these weekly deliveries is what many others have mentioned in their reviews - my trips to the grocery store are not only far fewer, but much cheaper and even more importantly...quicker! I typically only go to the store now to grab a few produce items on a weekly basis, which allows me to run in and out, plus prevents time-wasting browsing and needless buying. I have recommended Royal Crest to many others after having it recommended to me for a couple of years, and I only know of happy campers. read more
