First, I DO NOT understand the negative reviews here.They seem to settle around price and that modifying/cancelling the service is difficult and/or impossible. Clearly more booger eaters have survived into to adulthood (and unfortunately found their way onto yelp) than I would have thought. The price is only negligibly higher than purchasing organic milk from a specialty grocer, and that milk is not nearly as fresh or tasty (not to mention this stuff is delivered to your doorstep, by someone who is your neighbor). Royal Crest also offers plenty of extra products that are very convenient to have delivered fresh to your door, personally get eggs, cream, butter, cheese and HUGE TUBS OF AMAZING COOKIE DOUGH ***delivered to my door*** -It's seriously magical, like Christmas on my doorstep every Monday. Also, the first half-gallon is free! And you can chat with the nice milk man/woman who brings you your free milk and helps sign you up for service (Seriously, this isn't Mayberry, this is a real thing, that happens in Denver, Today... in 2016!) I have personally had no issue with account or delivery problems (always on time, with a chunk of ice in there during the summer months and an order sheet with up-to-date information about seasonal items.) I've also had no trouble contacting support during reasonable business hours (there is a negative review here complaining that their office was closed on December 28th! Duh! They're a local business that doesn't treat their workforce like robots! I'd hope they'd keep the office closed from the 24th until at least January 2!) As a customer my credit card expired and they floated my account of $60+ without charging and silly fees or any of that malarkey, a nice representative from the front office gave me a call and we updated my card over the phone in 2 minutes. Great service. Period. Now, their website isn't going to win any design award but it WORKS. You get a big table where you can set up skips and deliveries for the next 4 weeks and you can call in if you need skips or special deliveries set up in advance. You can change your order online as late as 7:00 pm the day before your delivery, which has been a super life saver when I've spaced on bringing something to the office and I can stride in like old Saint Nick himself with 6 pints of eggnog on Monday morning. Anyone who could not figure out how to manage their order (for three weeks!) by going online, calling into the office, or just leaving a note in their box for the driver must be partaking in a bit too much of another local Colorado product... read more

Lie #1: We get a flyer saying please order from us no shortages, we will be happy to serve you. WRONG!! Have yet to receive even 1 complete order. Lie # 2: Don't use the card un the box, complete the online order so the driver has everything. WRONG!! Even after completing the order more than a week in advance, still did not receive a single additional item. Really?!?! Not one?!?! you supposedly are out of EVERYTHING we ordered?!?!? I had Royal Crest Dairy years ago and left because my order was always screwed up. I was ending up with things I did not order and having to pay for them. Fast Forward, ten years later...nothing has changed. They wanted me to hang on, they have an improved system being put in place in a month"(apparently this is an ongoing problem because no matter how many times you submit your order if you don't get your confirmation email your paying for what ever shows up in your box)...PASS! We have been customers for 2 years now. Every Wednesday morning, my 3 year old daughter and I pick up the milk. You could say this has become our morning tradition. We have had a few cases where our 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk spoiled within days of receiving it, but customer service took care of us. We order creamer, eggs, bagels, milk and butter every week. My wife and I live just a few blocks away from this location and were very excited to start service with Royal Crest, in order to take full advantage of having a local dairy business. Unfortunately, they just don't have a successful customer service model, which is negatively reflected in reviews found here on help. Aside from preforming a credit check in order to start service, we were also disappointed to see that whomever is running the business thought it would be a good idea to carry sku's for garbage product. I do NOT understand the grumpy reviews on here! To be honest, I assumed it was had to do with Royal Crest having policies that were extra firm. Well, fast-forward to this morning. I check my milk order. (I've been modifying it a bit lately, and last night had put out my order on the card to change my usual). Well, maybe the pen I had used was too light a blue. Because the usual order was there. I admit, my heart sank: I hate wasting milk, and already had plenty left over from last week. Also, I needed what was on my other order (butter, half and half and extra cream). I couldn't figure out the website, so I just gave them an immediate call. The gentleman was very nice, asked what had been my hoped-for order, and said that he would have a delivery man stop by my place this afternoon to change out the order!!!! WHAT! That is amazing service! I did NOT expect this. I thought I would have to just deal with the fact that somewhere there was a goof. I don't understand all the hate on here. Take it for what it is: complaining people. My experiences remain awesome with them, and I *love* their products. I have tried their half-and half, their cream, their butter, their cheeses, the orange juice, the almond milk. It's all amazing. The service has been amazing. We've been using Royal Crest for about three months now and have no complaints. Their products are delicious and we always receive our order on time and correctly. I will admit I was concerned about the negative reviews I read on here, but none of that has proven to be true for us. We love their products and prices are better/comparable to the grocery stores. The items we enjoy are: Egg nog, 1.5% milk, Chocolate milk, Eggland's best eggs, Chippewa sharp cheddar cheese (best cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich!), their cookie dough in the GIANT tubs (we try to keep a tub on hand for last minute guests/quick events we need to whip up something), and their green chili dip! read more

While the idea of Royal Crest Dairy is a good one, the implementation of it is very poor. My husband and I signed up for Royal Crest the last week of August 2015. In just four months, they managed to mess up our order THREE times--almost once a month! That is just totally unacceptable and the company's screw-ups caused havoc for us. I cancelled my service today because they are unreliable. Most recently, I wanted some egg nog for the holiday since we were having family over. Our order, which came on Christmas Day, did NOT include the egg nog. I called the customer service number located on my order form and received an answering service stating that they were closed until Monday, Dec. 28. They did not even leave me the option of leaving my name and number...I had to wait three days before I could talk with someone about the mistake. Once I did talk to them today, one of the supervisors (Derrick) laid into me about not being able to get through to anyone on Christmas Day. He assured me the customer service center was open that day. I told him it was not, and he had the wrong information. After arguing with me, not apologizing for not bringing the egg nog (turns out they ran out...my driver was supposed to leave me a note stating they were out, but he didn't do that either), and making me feel horrible, I just cancelled my service. I love Royal Crest Dairy! When I first moved to Colorado, I thought dairy delivery was just about the best thing ever. The milk is fresh, delicious, and unlike anything I've tasted! Even the 1% milk we get tastes creamy (as compared to dirty-dishwater tasting other brands!). It's not UHP, thank goodness. The milk is fresh, natural, doesn't contain BST or growth hormones. They estimate the milk is 2 days from the cow to you! They also offer lots of other convenience items besides milk: butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, eggs, breads/bagels, yogurt, chocolate milk, juices, etc. This makes having your staples delivered VERY simple and easy. DO NOT MISS their egg nog during the holiday season - it's the best!! I love supporting local businesses, and Royal Crest will have my business for years. read more

We used Royal Crest for about two years after moving to Denver. In all those weeks we only had one occasion where our box was empty when we were expecting a delivery, and I suspect it was a thief, not a failure on the part of the deliveryman. Ultimately we decided to cancel our service because while getting the basics delivered was awesome, they just don't offer the kinds of products we really want to buy. "Udderly" disappointing. Tried to sign up for service last year, was told my neighborhood was too dangerous. Moved, tried to sign up again. John the sales guy called and promised to be at my house at 7:30 tonight. It's now 9pm, with no word. Clearly they don't want my business. Royal Crest milk is really good milk, but they don't tell you how much the costs when you sign up. The first bill I got revealed that a gallon of milk was$5.89? I'm willing to pay extra for quality but I don't think it's THAT good. I wrote cancel across the entire month order form like they told me to do when I signed up. They ignored it. Then called and left a message acting confused...did you mean cancel service or just one time. I then wrote CANCEL SERVICE across it the next week. Called me again this morning acting confused. It is automatic. Higher cost outweighed by time and fuel cost on my behalf. Milk is good The eggs they have are good The 4% cottage cheese has pasteurized skim milk, milk, cream, grade a whey, salt, nonfat milk, guar gum potassium sorbate, mono and diglycerides, citric acid, natural and artificial flavor, carrageenan, locust bean gum, corn (gmo?) starch, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, monopotassium phosphate, enzyme, carbom dioxide. I usually buy Daisy that shows Cultured skim milk cream and salt Pasteurized They carry Chiobani I won't bother listing ingredients just google Chiobani I use Mountain High a local Colorado Product Cultured Pasteurized Milk, Nonfat Milk, Pectin, Live Cultures (S. Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus, L. Acidophilus, B. Bilidus, and L.Casei) I gave them this feedback waiting on response. I only order the milk and eggs now. Good to great for service. For those that want convenience and do not read labels, A higher priced equivalent to the grocery store. With chemicals as ingredients in much of their products, even the half and half to eliminate separation?, In my opinion marginal offerings to those that think less ingredients are healthier. read more

We have had RC for 1 year now and absolutely LOVE IT. We have had NO issues with them. They have excellent customer service too. We get milk and eggs on our weekly order and then add stuff here and there as needed, like cream, butter, apple juice, cream cheese, etc. Everything we have received from them is delicious and fresh. The prices for milk and eggs are only like 30 more than the store. So worth it! A delivery has never been missed. I They have online ordering so you can change your standard up until 7PM online the night before. You can also change your order and put it in your box by delivery time. Works great!! Service is a mess. When we signed up the lady couldn't say what products were Colorado local. We finally identified three that were and went with those. After a month, they called on a Monday and left a message for us. Tuesday, I tried to log into the account to adjust our order for Wednesday as I'd been doing each week and it said there was no account, it'd been cancelled. Wednesday they took the box. I then got the bill, and it turned out they'd charged us for a dozen of a product that we never got (and I don't actually think they even offered), and because of that high bill the card had declined on the Monday. It's been two weeks and while they called to apologize about the mis-charge, they still haven't sent a corrected bill or ever tried to fix that they randomly aggressively cancelled our account due to their own mistake. If I could rate them with a negative I would. They were great until the last and final bill. My CC had been compromised and they couldn't bill it. They harassed me night and day. Threatened me if I 'didn't call within the hour' etc. I paid the amount that they asked for via check to their address, its been cashed. At the time my mother was in hospice, my daughter with a developmental disability in the hospital and another close family member in the hospital for an extended period of time. I really WANT to love Royal Crest. But... their product selection just isn't good enough and the delivery execution is flawed. I placed my order Monday, got something else Tuesday, called, and then didn't get my order Wednesday either. Too much work for something that should be convenient. As for the products, the PLAIN yogurt has 35 GRAMS of sugar. The whole wheat bread has high fructose corn syrup. It's just not healthy enough. They bring you the cutest little old fashioned milk box for your porch! AW!! Our 85 year old neighbor has a little door in the side of his house that back in the day, they just slide it in there - how cool is that? Well, we don't have one of the little doors so we get our fresh eggs, milk, bread and other dairy stuff in the little white box. The ball-n-chain and I are legendary egg nog makers during the holidays and have always thumbed our noses at anything store bought. We cooled our jets when we tasted the RC variety. We bagged even making any this year and just ordered up their stuff. So good. The drivers are always polite on the road around the diary and they don't let the lids bang down when they fill the box up as to not wake anyone. Old skool kool for sure. read more

I really try to reserve my 5 star reviews for company's who's products and services are exceptional. My family has been using Royal Crest for years now (I'm going to say like 5), and we have never had a bad experience. We have changed our order online or via the card, and the only time they made a mistake - which was to deliver one time when we were on vacation, I called them and they promptly took it off the bill. Were we live right now they deliver to twice a week, so it's really convenient. Unfortunately we are looking to move to an area where they only deliver once a week so that will be a bummer. We always give our driver a good tip at Christmas time, but we only started doing that after he earned it, so I'm sure that at least helps our service. The products... WOW! Their milk is some of the best I've ever had - reminds me of the milk I got when I was a kid, fresh from the farm. I can drink the non-fat milk and I can't stand store bought non-fat. We get the kids whole milk (they skinny little runts need the extra fat... grrrrr). Everyone loves it. We also get their egg's when ever possibly, they are always WAY fresher than the ones from the store - they last longer, taste better, and when making fried eggs the yolks almost never crack (sometimes I get a little too over zealous in the cracking, but that's my fault not the egg's). Also we'll get their OJ if we run out and I'm to lazy to run to the store for the weekend. If we get eggnog from the store, they kids don't drink it, but if we get Royal Crests they power through it. Personally I think it looks/feels like snot so I won't drink it, but the kids love it. They also love their chocolate milk, which we only get every great once in a while as a treat. Same for some of their cookie doughs, only bought them a few times, but they are really good. We used to get Longmont Dariy, but we switched to Royal Crest for two reasons - Twice a week delivery, as it offered us a lot more flexibility; and the plastic bottles, as when our kids were younger the glass was too heavy we had to take my son to the ER to get glass removed from his foot when he dropped on the porch and it shattered and he step on the glass. We honestly tasted or noticed no difference in the quality of either companies products. read more

The product is great, the customer service is awful. I joined Royal Crest to support a local business. I was delivered product on days that I requested to be skipped. I tried to cancel the account and they kept delivering and charging me. When I requested to cancel, a supervisor reactivated my account without my verbal permission. They were supposed to charge me $8.66 and later left a voice mail that they were charging me over $25. I spent way too much time on the phone trying to fix their mistakes. Again, great product, but the customer service doesn't hold up to expectations. A friend warned me and I went against their recommendation. I am sorry I didn't listen. I hope they make some positive changes because customers want good service for the extra cost on products you can buy at the local grocer store for less money and less hassle. read more

I only order online so I have never had problems where I needed to call customer service. I did get a week on accident because I forgot to log-on and skip it but we consumed the items in my regular order anyway (milk,oj,eggs) The price is a bit high but my kids and husband prefer the taste of the 1.5% over all other milks I have bought. As a busy student this service has saved me many times when I do not have time to shop. After trying many other services that bring consumable items to my house this is the only one that has been consistant, reliable, and enjoyable. read more

It's all fine and dandy until something goes wrong, so horribly wrong. Despite my fairly consistent refrigerator, thermostat, and consumption habits over the past, oh I don't know, 40+ years, I had a couple of weeks in a month where the milk went bad. When I called to complain, it was all about how it must have been something *I* did (again, I haven't changed where I put the milk or how often I access the milk in YEARS!) and never was there an offer to refund or replace other than to say that next time leave the milk to rot in the milk container and they'd pick it up to analyze what's wrong with it and bring me a new one. Ok, guys, call me a few neurons short here but if I leave the milk outside for you to pick up, chances are it's going to spoil, so what BIG REVELATION will you be giving me other than "duuuh... your milk spoiled". So why the two stars? Like I said the service is fine and somewhat reasonable compared to the grocery store milk down the street *until* the milk goes bad and it starts costing you $$$ because they won't even make up for it. That and their customer service reps feel more like Comcast "Retention Center" representatives than like people who actually want to help you. "Did you put your milk on the door?" "Yes, like I've done with every other milk (including yours) for years, why should THIS week be any different!?" Nimrods. Buy your own cow. It's probably less hassle. Update: After I went to cancel they offered to lift their magical "1 gallon of milk and a small, highly marked up item" or "1/2 gallon of milk and two highly marked up items" minimum order requirement. I love milk, always have, but in the past I very rarely had any on hand due to infrequent grocery store trips as the closest stores are just a bit to far to make quick trips. Royal Crest has changed my life! OK, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I always have fresh milk now, so that's pretty nice. The quality of the milk is absolutely top notch. I order the 2% and the richness of it really gives me the whole milk feeling I crave. Store bought 2% now tastes like water to me. I've on occasion ordered the Royal Crest skim for visitors, and while I've never be able to tolerate skim from the store, Royal Crest's is good in a pinch! I do order other things as well, like juice and cheese and the occasional loaf of bread, and they're just fine, and not too overpriced, but they aren't the reason I signed up, so I don't need to be blown away by them. After a year of service, the only thing that I could even potentially complain about is how early they deliver to our house. Frequently I'm not even be in bed yet when the next morning's delivery is made. That being said, even if I don't get to it until 8-9 the next morning I've never had any issues with spoilage or anything like that, it's just something I'm aware could happen in the summer heat. read more

I call them back in December to cancel service as I go over seas ... I get back and my account was sent to collections... I call the front desk and they say I didn't call ...so I had my lawyer run my phone log ... yup called exactly when I said to cancel my services ... this is what a local company does to it service members... now I have a collections bill for something that was done to me while being 8000 miles away .... thanks a lot read more

We used to get milk and dairy items from Royal Crest when I was a kid. A couple years ago they were in our old neighborhood handing out half gallons of milk. Really brought me back. We signed up that day. The milk is as fresh as it gets. We recently started getting the Royal Rich for my 14 month old daughter. I also like having some with cookies. Really good stuff! The milk delivery people and the customer service people are outstanding. We usually get our milk on Thursdays between 4 and 5AM. About a month ago I forgot to check for it before I left for work, but my wife had checked around 7AM and it wasn't there. She called their customer service and was informed that it was delivered. According to them there were a few reported thefts in the area, and that they would send some more out right away. It took them no longer than an hour to deliver more. They even called back to make sure it had made it here and to let us know that they took the previous delivery amount off our account and the new delivery was on them. I give them 5 stars for the quality of their products and their commitment to their customers. read more

OK so it's been 3 months since my original review and I've had a bit of time to see how they operate. My initial review was 1 star for the reasons previously stated. I've bumped them up to 3 for having delicious milk but still plagued by operational issues. Somewhere along the way my credit card billing info was lost in the Royal Crest handoff chain. No one's sure where or how but the form I submitted with my information cannot be found. I was alerted to this after being told my account was past due. I called in and ended up completing an electronic version and emailing it to them so that they and I both have record of the transaction. Their customer portal on their website also has some teething pains. It's a completely custom CRM solution that unfortunately has bugs still. These have been confirmed with Royal Crests' IT managers. 2 out of the past 3 weeks they've messed up my order. I'll use their website to amend my "standing" order (the standing order is saved and is delivered every week) and the changes never get communicated to my driver who drops off the standing order without the changes. To address this requires time calling in and then leaving unwanted goods in the box on the porch for them to pick up on a following day. So not only is this an inefficient use of my time but a waste of perfectly good product as well. I get that they're a smaller company. They have great tasting high quality products (their milk tastes great and the girlfriend loves their cottage cheese!) but right now it just seems like they have too many operational issues to iron out. If you're willing to wade through that mess you'll find the actual product to be worth it. read more

Great service. We've been getting the milk for over 16 years (really). The reason we chose to was our two little girls . Why this over grocery? The freshness and lack of hormones in the product. I cannot say with authority, but when you hear so much about hormones in the food chain, I felt it was important to avoid it in a staple like milk. My ONLY complaint is that in all those years, my husband became lactose intolerant, and they do not carry their milk lactose free. If they had that 5 stars (Actually 6). We had been long-time customers of Royal Crest. Their product line is extensive and the quality seems better than the supermarkets. The biggest benefit is that it's super convenient. We always paid our monthly bill promptly. But recently there was a payment mix-up and they never got our check which was always left in the milk box with the invoice. Anyway, we called to straighten it out and the woman at customer service rudely demanded immediate payment. We tried to explain that we had already paid because the delivery person had taken the check from the milk box and we asked if she might speak to our delivery person. She was having none of it and basically accused us of lying and trying to steal product. She couldn't care less if we remained customers or not. Terrible customer service. We cancelled the previous check, sent in that last payment and cancelled our service. Not sure if we'll ever go back to that. read more

I started drinking Royal Crest milk as a teen, so have enjoyed the quality and the convenience for 47 years. What's with all of these snowflake complaints? My boyfriend is the milk drinker, and we have to go Whole milk for him. I just started ordering the 2%, which is FAR better than that weak stuff at the grocery store. I like a little coffee with my half and half, and both the half and half and the whipping cream are also FAR better than that stuff at the grocery store. Then, there is the eggnog! Since my parents are gone, I'm the only one in the family who loves it. I usually order a bottle and drink a shot once every day or two, so as to spread those fat calories out a little. The green chile dip is AWESOME; and I order a container for holidays, or whenever my boyfriend says to put it on the list. YUM! And, who doesn't like only having to scoop out some pre-mixed cookie dough onto a cookie sheet, bake, and have deliciously fresh cookies whenever you feel like cookies; and you don't want to have to mix them yourself? Plus, there are so many delicious flavor combinations to enjoy! Only downside is that they aren't available year-round. I want to take this opportunity to THANK the drivers who have to deliver this deliciousness every week, especially during the winter months when they have to delivery in horrible weather. We've been loyal customers for 6.5 years but this week Royal Crest started rationing milk volumes because of a shortage. This shortage appears to be caused by them taking on too many new customers without the ability to maintain service levels to their existing customers. We have small children that are dependent on milk as a significant part of their diet and now we're left in a lurch. We will be cancelling and changing milk deliver providers as soon as possible. We understand that the current environment and quarantine are causing issues but this is one area we didn't think we had to worry about, particularly because the company sent emails with reassurances that supply was not a problem. We were not notified ahead of time our normal order was being cut either. Very disappointing experience and it really appears this company is choosing greed over their loyal customers with years and years of weekly purchases. read more

I always have to call customer service rep to set up another delivery time. Today was the last straw when the customer service rep told me (after being on hold for 15 minutes) that the reason I did not get my delivery today is that the driver ran out of milk and eggs due to additional requests (i.e., hoarders) from the customers before me. My order is pretty standard every week and I auto pay so I feel they should do their part by completing my order. Cancelled my account and will get my certified organic milk at Costco where they encourage people to share by limiting 1 or 2 items per household in these trying times. read more

Have been a customer off and on since was a kid (as long as I can remember, maybe 50 yrs). Pay no mind to the whiny entitled hipsters here who pathologically don the "old-timey" pose in their neighborhoods with the milkbox on the stoop, but then come unglued when there are occasional (rare) old-timey hiccups. What can you say? The milk (et al) is good and it's delivered to your house. No tweed or man-bun required. read more

I had been contemplating signing up for Royal Crest awhile back but never bothered. I wasn't sure if just the nostalgia of Home milk delivery was really all that I was looking for. I remember the milkman making his rounds in my neighborhood when I was growing up. Then at a local Home show we saw their display, spoke to a rep, tried their milk and were sold. Nostalgia aside, their milk is awesome and their holiday eggnog may be the best I've ever had! So far we couldn't be more pleased! I'm not sure what the customer service complaints are all about. I did find one error on my first invoice. I called them, got an immediate answer to my call, they politely corrected the error, and apologized. When my truck driver ran out of eggnog, they called and offered a separate delivery if we still wanted some! read more
