Highly recommend Saturday Morning Cafe (Werner's Diner)! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The service was excellent from start to finish. I ordered the Shrimp & Grits which consisted of shrimp, bacon, tomato, garlic, butter, and Old Bay, served on a skillet sizzling hot. It was absolutely delicious! Every flavor blended together perfectly, the bacon was nice and crisp, and there was a generous amount of shrimp in every bite. My husband ordered the Saturday Morning Special, which came with two eggs, crispy bacon, perfectly seasoned home fries, and French toast topped with fresh strawberries. The home fries were cooked just right--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. The French toast with fresh strawberries was the perfect finishing touch. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Great food, wonderful service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back whenever we visit Baltimore again!

Alabama loaded grits with 2 eggs, bacon and tomatoes. The grits are underneath with cheese

The customer service was soooo nice!!! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I always love a good diner setting. I got tow orders of the Alabama loaded grits and it did not disappoint. The only thing I didn't like was the grits wasn't creamy enough. They kinda tasted if they was reheated. I would definitely get it again.

Honey Butter Biscuits

This spot was a great find! Casual and authentic southern breakfast flavors! We got the shrimp and grits which was delicious and arrived PIPING HOT! We also got the decadent honey butter biscuits and an egg white omlette. Everything came out quickly, was great sized portions, and was absolutely delicious! This is a definite spot to stop into for anyone visiting the area!

If you're ever downtown and craving a good breakfast, check out Saturday Morning Café, which recently relocated to the spot where Werner's used to be. We go there often on weekends, and it never disappoints! He always orders the pancakes and swears by them--no powdered sugar, no syrup--just as they come. And he's right; I've tried them, and they're delicious. As for me, I love the Baltimore Skillet. The portions are generous, and I always end up with leftovers. The ambiance is upbeat, with the smell of fresh coffee in the air and music playing in the background. You can hear people laughing and enjoying their meals, which gives the place such a friendly, welcoming energy. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to linger a little longer and soak it all in. The customer service is excellent--everyone checks in to make sure you have what you need and is happy to help. You might have a short wait, but that's only because the food is worth it. Definitely stop by and give them a try!

Definitely worth the hype on instagram that brought me to the place. Very hospitable staff that makes you feel like you're dining with friends of the family. The food came out piping hot and fresh. The salmon shrimp and grits was sizzling and super delicious. It has a home in the wall ambiance but the cuisine is anything but. You will not be disappointed.

After glancing over the menu last night, we decided to give this spot a try. From the moment we walked in, the host was very welcoming--we even chatted a little college football on the way to our table. The food did not disappoint. I had the Baltimore Skillet, which was fantastic in both preparation and taste, and my boys ordered the Saturday morning special, which they really enjoyed as well. Overall, a great experience, and we'll likely be back before our time in Baltimore is up.

Really enjoyed eating here! Staff were very attentive and had great recommendations for us on the menu. Very comfortable cafe you can tell it is a great local spot. Only thing is for both of our dishes, our grits were cold. Food was delicious and highly recommend if you are in the area!

I ordered my meal through DoorDash and when I received it, it was fairly warm. I ordered the pancake platter with hash browns and bacon with an extra side of bacon. Honestly, I was disappointed with my meal. The hash browns had a weird aftertaste but they weren't even seasoned at all. Very bland with an oily, burnt aftertaste. The pancakes had the same burnt aftertaste. It's like they were both cooked on the same griddle using the same burnt oil. I love bacon like the next person but it was sooooo salty. And I like salty bacon but this was way too salty. When I get bacon and grits I always mix them. Which helped take away from all the salt on the bacon. The grits were surprisingly seasoned and I actually enjoyed the bacon with grits. Overall, I would not order this meal from here again. Maybe just the grits with bacon. Im definitely open to trying other things though since I heard some good things about the place.

Unlimited lemon drops...strawberry flavor

Who doesn't like classic diner bites and bottomless drinks? Recently stopped in to indulge in a burger and their bottomless sips offer. For 20 bucks you can choose from maitais, margaritas and lemon drops. I chose lemon drops! To my surprise you could get flavors. Of course I went with strawberry. Deliciously boozy, the bottomless drinks are available to diners who purchase for 2 hrs. Don't sleep on this thinking the drinks are watered down, they are not! While here I decided to nosh on their classic burger with cheese and bacon. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. Bonus on the burger, the fried onions. I thought it would come with standard fried onions but, no...the fried onions were onion ring style. Hmm. Hmm. Sorry! No pics of the burger because my stomach was more important. Lol! Definitely stopping in again! *fun fact: Werner's is a popular place for film and television. It's been on such shows as The Wire and House of Cards. SYOY!

My husband and I decided to visit Werner's Diner and Pub, one of Baltimore's well-known spots, after seeing it on Instagram. The aesthetics definitely gave off classic diner vibes. We ordered the French toast platter with turkey bacon and home fries, crab cake egg rolls, and chicken & waffles. The French toast was top tier--the buttery brioche bread was delicious. The home fries were seasoned well too. However, the chicken & waffles were our least favorite. The chicken lacked flavor, and the waffle tasted more like dough than a true waffle. The crab cake egg rolls could have also used more seasoning. We enjoyed $5 mimosas, and if we had arrived earlier, we would've tried the unlimited lemon drops or margaritas for 2 hours. Overall, I would dine here again and explore their dinner options next time.

The service was excellent! Our server was very kind and friendly. Other servers constantly checked on us while we waited for the rest of our party. The food was good, I just wished the crab cake came with a bit more fries.

Smash burger w/ fries

Werner's is a low key spot in the heart of downtown. I love how it is a true diner. The vibe is really cute and I love the all day breakfast/brunch option. We came for the happy hour but be warned that parking and traffic was a doozy. I had a smash burger and quick drink. The burger was tasty. It could have had more sauce but they gave me some on the side no problem. Overall, it was cool. I wouldn't not go back but it wasn't anything to write home about.

Didn't give me what I ordered. Long wait time (40 minutes). Waitress was nice but focused on changing music before taking our check.

It's definitely a place you have to see to appreciate. One of the biggest conveniences is the parking. They have a designated customer parking lot in addition to available street parking, which takes the stress out of finding a spot. We visited on a Sunday around 12:30 PM with a party of five and were seated immediately. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient, and every dish that came to the table was outstanding. We ordered the large Caesar salad, pulled pork sandwich, chicken quesadilla, Monte Egg breakfast sandwich, pesto burger, onion rings and Southern Love burger. Every meal was generously portioned, arrived fresh, and was packed with flavor. No one at the table had a complaint, and everyone left impressed. PaperMoon Diner isn't just known for its quirky atmosphere, it also delivers incredible food to match. If you're looking for a restaurant with a fun, unforgettable vibe and delicious food served in generous portions, this is a spot that's absolutely worth visiting. Highly recommended!

Their homestyle potatoes had this interesting sweetness to them that I wasn't super fond of, but that's just personal preference. My partner got chocolate chip pancakes, which were good, but we felt it was very pricey for what it was. Maybe the price is a Baltimore thing--it totally could be. The service was good, we were checked on often and the staff is friendly. The food came quickly! Amazing Diner!!!…read more Mad flavor! Great prices! Good service! Nice quantities! Amazing homemade desserts! A must try if you are ever in the area. Also I think they have a name change (Red Cup Diner).

This place was a one-and-done experience for us. Never again!!…read more My husband and I ended up here after the Dave Chappelle show because our original dinner plans fell through when the restaurant was fully booked. We should have made reservations, but at that point, all we wanted was a decent meal (nothing fancy) after a long workweek and then to head home. Unfortunately, a decent meal didn't happen. The food was some of the worst we've had in a long time. My husband actually spit food into his napkin, shook his head, and said, "I'm done." I've never seen him do that before. Several dishes were simply inedible. The mashed potatoes were bland and flavorless--how do you mess up mashed potatoes? The potato salad was equally bland and disappointing. The French onion soup had very little broth and was overloaded with a thick layer of hardened cheese. Overall, the food tasted cheap and poorly prepared, yet the prices suggested otherwise. It felt like diner-quality food being sold at premium prices. What made the experience even more frustrating was the manager's response. He came to our table after hearing about our concerns, but instead of focusing on the quality issues we raised, he seemed more concerned that my husband refused to order a replacement meal. That spoke volumes about where the priorities were. The one bright spot was our server, who was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. No complaints regarding the server as he was extremely apologetic with our experience. To our surprise, the restaurant also added an automatic gratuity to our bill. Ironically, had that not been done, we likely would have tipped our server more because he was not the problem. The kitchen and management were. No, I didn't complain about the tip after I noticed it on our bill. We were over the experience and just wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. Save yourself the disappointment and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. We certainly wish we had. Gordon Ramsay, if you're looking for a future Kitchen Nightmares episode, this place could desperately use the help. P.S. A business name change is not going to help with the quality of the food. Do better and prove that you actually care about your customers, not just the $$.

Kay's Diner is a nostalgic, cozy Black-owned diner in Baltimore. As soon as I entered, I felt the love! The owner Kay and the manager Sheim are frequently walking around checking in on their guests. We sat next to a couple regulars who were known by the employees by name. It stands out a lot to me when a business has regulars that are treated like family. They offer counter-top seating as well as a few booths. The menu is extensive offering way more than classic diner breakfast, lunch & dinner. I ordered the French toast combo with a side of potatoes. It was a satisfying meal overall! Eggs were fried hard with cheese, potatoes were well seasoned, bacon was crispy! My only distaste is that they used regular bread rather than brioche for their French toast. The flavor on the French was amazing, it's topped with a cinnamon sugar butter. I washed everything down with an amazing Arnold Palmer. The Perfect balance of tea and lemonade. The coco bread was buttery and light, a delicious treat. My friend and I decided to share one their fresh pressed seamoss juices. It was good! -Customer service is amazing! The employees really treat you like family. -Free street parking available close by. -Countertop and booth seating. Plenty of TVs. -Prices are average. French toast combo was $14.99. I'll definitely be a regular here. I hope you enjoy!
