We ordered carpet to be installed on our closing day for our new home and we were able to go to the huge and beautiful showroom to see what flooring we wanted (he was able to match a color we had found in a different brand to a Shaw carpet of much better quality). We were able to even test out the padding to see what a difference the better pad made. The install was done very quickly and was great!! They sent a team of 6 guys and they were in at 8a and out by 3p for 1700 sq foot of flooring. VERY impressed with Royal Flooring, we will definitely be using them for future flooring needs! read more

This place gets a 2 instead of one because their sales staff and the actual products they carry are good. The selection is great and the staff in store is knowledgeable. Where it falls apart is the install. They hire bottom of the barrel workers to actually install the products. There was not a single thing they didn't screw up on install. Because I don't want you to think I'm being dramatic I'll include pictures..... 1. Appliances- we ordered super nice LG cafe appliances from the store. We waited....and waited...and waited. Finally when the day they were suppose to arrive (ordered in February it was now late April) we called and found out they wouldn't be in until December. We had to have something as we moved in to a new house with no appliances. So, we bought a second set that they gave us a "good deal" on. When they arrived, they were clearly used appliances (food in the microwave and crumbs in the oven). However, none of this compares to the splinted mess they left in my beautiful custom cabinets when they drilled a hole for the microwave (pictured). Total disregard for someone else's craftsmanship. 2. Carpet- the carpet was ok on install. There was the normal drywall dings and paint scrapes. The transitions were sloppy but, not the end of the world. My biggest complaint is they didn't clean up after themselves. There was fuzz and carpet pieces everywhere. We spent hours vacuuming just so it didn't look like a shag rug exploded. 3. Tile- Tile 101- use the same batch for the entire floor. If this is not possible mix the batches to insure you don't have a chunk of tile that was noticeably different. They didn't do this and we ended up with a section by our doorway that is noticeably darker than the rest. In addition their gout job was sloppy and there were low spots and spots where thinset was poking through. Once again, no clean up was done. Gout was all over the walls and splattered on tiles. We did call them on this and were given a discount and a worked came back and cleaned up. However, I have to look at the mismatched tile everyday (picture). Bottom line...hire your own installer if you buy product from here. read more

I am working with a contractor who utilized Royal flooring for our flooring and install. The carpet installer left quite a few scratches, dents and even large chunks taken out of our newly finished walls. He also left his garbage/carpet scraps in a bag in our basement. The carpet was not cleaned up and looks more or less like a shag carpet. My contractor contacted Royal Flooring who called me personally. They were not willing to aide in fixing the walls and said the garbage was a mistake. From reading these reviews, the lack of clean up and removal of trash seems to be common for them. I had hoped that by working with a reputable company, and paying a pretty penny for both the carpet and install, we would not have had these issues. Disappointed to say the least read more

We purchased our new home June of 2022. The builder's contractor was Royal Flooring. We were given 3 choices for our LVP flooring from Shaw. In less than 7 months, it has started to buckle, separate as the seams, raise up causing tears in the flooring at the seams. We've been trying to work with the builder, Savannah Homes and Royal flooring and still no resolution. Starting the first of March we've been asking for it to be replaced. May 10th still no resolution. Royal flooring is blaming it on the sub-contractor for the sub flooring, Savannah homes says it's Royal Flooring. At this point, we don't care who's used faulty items, we just need it fixed. read more

Why You Should Use Royal Flooring. We bought a newly constructed home in West Des Moines. Royal had done the original installation. After we moved in, there was an issue with one of the planks in our laminate board floor. Royal is committed to customer satisfaction and they have done a great job, in our opinion, of correcting the issue. When I say they are committed to service, they have done everything needed to get this repaired to our satisfaction. Brendon has been working with us and he understands how to get it done. Worked with Anthony who was very good. I like the carpet. But not too happy with how it was laid. While laying outside of bathroom a pcorner of tile was broke. I found it after they left. And there are a few areas that not happy with. Keep finding areas that little pieces are loose around edges. read more

From the beginning to the end of the new flooring/resurfacing project, RHF was terrible in all facets. This wasn't just a goof here or a mistake there. The entire experience was the worst experience that I've ever had in home renovation. I've waited over six months to give a review just to give them a chance to rectify the permanent issues left with my floor, but they have blown me off every time I reach out. From scheduling issues to filler falling out at transitions and the wrong sealer applied, the list of mistakes was substantial. They even ordered the wrong color base for one room and not only charged me to correct it but made me install it. I guess that's what I should have expected when the installers arrived high AF...that's when they actually showed up. Even when the contract indicated the removal and disposal of the carpet, it was an unnecessary argument that I eventually won. Beware of this company. So many better ones out there. I should have stuck with what I knew. Wasn't my first rodeo, but is my last with RHF. read more

Went through this newer opened business for a update of whole house flooring and kitchen. I'll give them that this was a pandemic and stuff became difficult to get, contractors they subcontract for installation and recommended for me to use got way overbooked and made it more difficult to get everything finished. In the middle of it the worst was dealing with the appliance department in ordering a heavy duty range vent/fan. Between that salesperson and the cabinet folks the wrong cabinet got ordered even after the appliance dept assured me everything was to my liking. A couple cabinets arrived damaged but were promptly replaced. It was worse when the fan didn't fit the cabinet as the wrong configuration was what was ordered. Then to get this all altered AND installed took many phone calls and trips to job site;I'm still not convinced I received the proper fan and recirculate ray. Oh well. What's up with plumbing wholesalers and the install/contractors not divulging the cost/and or true price they pay/or charge you. This is especially maddening when trying to get broken items exchanged, returned and the proper credit to my account. I know they'd like to scam customers and think we will just forget about these little hundred dollars here and there; but not gonna happen with this old gal, sorry. You have to pay 100% up front for anything to get ordered, so be ready to do that. And if you choose to withhold some of the payment for a bit of leverage when problems or disgruntlements arise, be prepared to deal with the billing department monthly. Overall, I had a nice end product, the contractors who installed were excellent and prompt with the exception of one electrician from Royals list of recommendations. Along the way one employee who was causing me headaches was let go before I got done with everything before I complained. Oh, yes, they don't have a good phone system and nobody answers the phone much of the time.. read more

We moved into a new home, we put in our yearly requests in to have our carpet fixed. Royal Flooring will not guarantee their in installation work. They say they won't fix the carpet because it was the vacuum. DO NOT get carpet from Royal Flooring because they do not back their installations. Or you CAN NEVER vacuum. if you vacuum and it catches the carpet and starts ripping the carpet they won't fix it and tell you that it is not the carpet but the vacuum. But if it was installed properly you should be able to vacuum and not have the carpet be ripped up. read more

Royal Flooring was subcontracted by my general contractor to install vinyl plank flooring everywhere in my house and backsplash tile in the kitchen and baths. Mr. Nick Fiala at Royal Flooring subcontracted with "Nick" and "Kevin" (stepbrothers) with C & C Flooring for this project. "Nick" told me he was on Morphine, Percocet, and another prescription med for his back pain. "Nick" yelled at "Kevin" a lot for not cutting the planks to the correct length. There are planks that don't go all the way to the wall with ends and edges and corners sticking up on all three levels of the house. Some planks were made to fit and now ends are bulging up. They installed two different colors of stair nosing on the basement steps. Mr. Fiala delivered a few additional boxes of planks and as well as nosing strips, but they haven't installed any of it. The sample of flooring they brought to my house before the project began showed that it had a lifetime warranty; what they installed has a 20-year warranty. Mr. Fiala had a flooring inspection done but refused to show me a copy of the results. Mr. Fiala visited my home several times, and he sent numerous installers here to "look" at the problems. Mr. Fiala told me they no longer subcontract with C & C Flooring. I could have done a much better job installing the tile backsplash myself not knowing anything about how to do so. I worked with an attorney for over two years who retired because of health issues and nothing was resolved. As a disabled, elderly, singly-by-choice woman who manages multiple health issues, including depression, this review is a tad bit delayed. This work was done, so to speak, in 2016. My wife and I built a new house in Ankeny. At first we thought the cabinet ordering process at Royal Flooring's showroom was going to be seamless and a fun part of the building process. Later on in the build process the cabinets showed up damaged not once but twice. Most of the cabinets on the first order were not even ordered correctly. We had sent them our double wall oven specs and NFM showed up to install it and basically had to cut out the entire cabinet front face as they said the cabinet company should of recommended a wider cabinet. At that point it was too late to change them as the countertops were installed. Luckily the NFM guys were amazing and got the double wall oven to fit after we had to trim the counter top corner for the door clearance on the lower oven. None of the master bath cabinets or laundry are soft close doors/drawers even though everything ordered for the entire house was soft close. Cabinet drawers for large dishes seem cheap and we are concerned about longevity of them. Trim pieces for the ceiling were ordered multiple times and builder had to go to Royal Flooring's warehouse to find them as Royal Flooring's own people could not figure it out. The cabinets delayed our closing date by a few weeks as some parts ordered multiple times and had to be re-installed. We never did receive the dividers for the top cabinet for the cooking pans. At the end of the process our house turned out amazing but the absolute worst part is knowing the cabinets are still not correct and we ended up just not paying the full amount on the invoice that was billed. I would never recommend this company. Maybe they should spend less money on their fancy showroom in WDM and hire competent people to support their products. read more

Ordered carpet for stairs. Had to wait extra time to receive it as there was a problem getting it. The day came for install and had no idea when they were to be there. Never got notifications as to when they were going to be there. Had to keep calling and calling. Finally came to install and told me had to hurry because he wanted to get home! Defect in carpet and had to reorder and wait another 2+ weeks. Installed finally but no clean after install. Ordered same carpet for hallway to match. Again, had no idea when showing up and ended up having to reschedule as it was hours later than was told. Finally got it rescheduled and again showed up hours later and again no clean up. I have to vacuum as installer doesn't have a vacuum. Would never recommend to use these people! read more
