called to ask a detailed question about ingredients to accommodate a dietary restriction (Celiac disease) and was treated very rudely. At first my question was avoided and when I pressed, I was snipped at and then hung up on with a slam. Their menu claims that their dishes are gluten-free, it shouldn't be a problem to answer a specific question about it, and the fact that they can't seem to answer it means I won't be risking it. Details if you're interested: I am Celiac and so can't eat gluten. I called to check that they don't use asafoetida - a common flavoring in Indian food - or whether they use a gluten-free version. Most people don't know that this ingredient is most commonly cut with flour, and I've found Indian restaurants that didn't know, either. The person answering didn't seem to know what it was and got mad at me and hung up on me when I insisted on knowing whether it's in their food. Follow-up: when my friend called later to place the take-out order she asked again (different person on the phone), and he asked the cook who said, YES, most of their dishes have asafoetida in it. When we asked if it was a gluten-free version, he stammered and said he wasn't sure, but that it must be because they say their dishes are gluten-free. Unlikely. If they went out of their way to source gluten-free asafoetida, they would know it. If you're Celiac, don't eat here. read more

I grew up in Bountiful and loved going to Servus Drug on Main for candy and baseball cards. Now that same place has one of the best Indian restaurants I ever been to, and I've been to Indian restaurants from Vegas to NYC to London. The service was pleasant and fun. Megan, Hailey and Josh took great care of us. We enjoyed visiting with them. We ordered the Vegetable Samosa which was wonderful. The Rohan Josh was life changing. The Chicken Tikka Masala was enchanting. You could tell the Garlic Naan was hand made. The food here is well prepared, not frozen and reheated. It's top notch food. I live in Boise, ID now but I'm thinking I have to come visit my family more often so I can eat at A Bountiful Royal India. You won't be disappointed. read more

Not authentic Indian food. Nobody that works there is Indian- even the cook is not Indian; only the owners are Indian. Servers extremely impolite. I could feel the negative vibes. Not once did they come to our table, to ask if all was OK, if we needed more drinks, etc. Owners to be ashamed to run a business like this, poorly run. For what you pay, you get very little portions. We were not happy. My wife doesn't want to come back. I forgot to bring a coupon with me for 50% off on second dish, they refused give me that deal- instead offered $5 off. I've been lucky enough to eat at Indian restaurants around the country. This one is a hidden gem. The food had a subtle complexity to it; spicy and flavorful without your mouth feeling as if it were attacked by a flame thrower. As for the service, it was fast and efficient. The waitress I had was knowledgeable, and was able to answer all the questions I had about how the food was prepared. I'm looking forward for my next trip to Bountiful to enjoy some of the best Indian food I've ever had. read more

Royal India of Bountiful Utah is hands down the best Indian food I've ever had! In other Indian food restaurants I've tried, not only did it lack taste, but the price was also even more expensive. I find the prices here very reasonable! The food at Royal India is by no means junky fast food, and I love the that it still has loads of flavor no matter how spicy you like your food. The service is excellent, the building itself is cozy... This is my #1 favorite place to go eat! read more

Royal India! I have eaten here for many many years and to this date I am very pleased. The highlight of Royal India is most definitely the food! My favorite is Chicken Tiki Masala, and a close second would be Lamb Boti Masala. The service is good, the restaurant is very decorative and it is has a comfortable atmosphere.
