Absolutely delicious food! We ordered aloo and garlic naan. Main dishes were butter lamb and lamb biryani. Extremely generous portions and even more lamb than what I had expected to come for that price. The service was so friendly and sweet. There was a live music when we came, and they were pretty good. The place is huge and very bright. It appears from the buffet that they might have a buffet lunch, but I'm not sure about that. We had the rasmalai for dessert. It took a couple of bites for our taste buds to adjust to the strange taste and texture. But we ate the whole thing. It is spiced with cardamom, which is supposed to be good for your stomach after a meal like this. Oh, and the heat level. We ordered no heat in the butter lamb, so it just had a hint of spice. I ordered a three out of five on the lamb biryani, and it made my face sweat, but it was so delicious. The raita served with it cut the heat somewhat. Bhansa Ghar: Where the butter chicken is so velvety it should come with a "may cause spontaneous marriage proposals" warning. The garlic naan arrives hotter than my ex's temper and twice as addictive; I fought my own hand to stop tearing off "just one more" piece. Rice is perfectly fluffy, the kind your Indian auntie would nod at approvingly instead of side-eyeing you for using a fork. Service is fast, friendly, and somehow knows exactly when you need another basket of naan without you selling a kidney to flag them down. Prices are fair enough that you'll leave stuffed, happy, and still able to afford rent. 10/10. My taste buds have already Venmo-requested a standing Friday reservation. Salt Lake finally has an Indian spot that doesn't make me daydream about flying to New Jersey. I've been returning to this place for a few years whenever I'm in town and it's always been so good. The service is friendly and the food is always delicious. Shrimp fried rice, great flavor, but they use tiny baby shrimp, would have like a medium size plump shrimp with this dish Mango lassi - was decent, not the best we've had Butter chicken- fabulous- everyone's favorite! Chicken tikka masala - next fav, excellent Lamb Rogan Josh - again, loved it! Shrimp coconut korma - this one had nice plump big shrimp! Would have liked more of them! So good! I review restaurants with my OAT method: O= Overall experience - The staff was very friendly and immediately sat us down when we got there. They checked on us during the whole meal. I could tell they liked their job, and that makes a difference. - There was an abundance of food for what everything cost (which I don't mind, I love good leftovers, especially paneer tikka masala!) - The leftovers heat up super good! Bhansar Ghar has been on our list for so long, and it completely lived up to the hype. My uncle has been raving about their chicken seekh kabobs and tandoori chicken, and now I understand why. The food is absolutely delicious. The chicken has that perfect char on the outside while still staying juicy and flavorful. The seekh kabob is seasoned to perfection and ended up being my favorite dish. The chutneys are also incredibly flavorful and fresh, which made everything taste even better. The naan was very good as well. I personally wish they used yellow or white onions instead of red onions in the naan, but everything overall was amazing. The ambience is inviting and they have tables to accommodate parties of any size. They have a stage for live music, which wasn't performing tonight, but I would love to watch it sometime. The server said that they were having a New Year's party, which I believe will happen on 31 December from 9 PM to 2 PM. I would love to go! The food is delicious! The samosas were flavorful and moist. The Chicken 65 was crispy, juicy, and flavorful with every bite! My chicken tikka masala was some of the best I've ever had, and there were green peppers and onions in the dish as well, which added a delightful flavor! My boyfriend had a lamb dish, which he absolutely loved. He ordered the house-made hot sauce on the side to make his food even more spicy because he absolutely loves spice. He loved this house-made hot sauce so much that he got some to go. We finished our meal with a delicious dessert, which was an Indian rice pudding. It was flavorful and had specific spices in it that made it unique and tasty! This restaurant has only been open seven months, but it is a wonderful date-night and party atmosphere, ensuring that it will definitely make a mark in Salt Lake City! read more

We decided to try this Indian restaurant while in town, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala--super creamy, perfectly spiced, and packed with flavor. My boyfriend ordered the goat curry, and this is hilarious because he's always said he "doesn't like Indian food." Well... that changed fast. At first we were disappointed that our first choice was closed, but the fates always have a plan, and the fates did not disappoint with Bhansa Ghar. We ordered the Chana Palak, Paneer Tikka Kebab, and Garlic Naan. The Chana palak was very flavorful and smooth, with the perfect amount of spice. This was the first Paneer Tikka Kebab we've had and it was also delicious, but not as good as the Chana Palak. Lastly the garlic naan was soft, buttery, and garlicky. Would recommend! The food was authentic and I am such a fan of momos, so I was pleasantly surprised to see them on the menu. I got the chilli Momos, butter chicken, and onion kulcha. Everything was delicious. I love the food here. Must get the mango lassi. I wanted to try their savory lassi but I can only drink so much. We got the aloo naan. Lamb tikka masala. And the chicken khote momo. Everything was amazing. We did spice level 3 out of 5 which was a little milder than we expected. Next time we'll get level 4. There are so many dishes I'm excited to try. If you are prissy, the restrooms might bother you. They were clean, but like a lot of the older business rentals, there was an odor. But that didn't diminish how excellent the food was. read more

It all started after we ordered, the server took a while get us our drinks ( water and ice tea) and then again I took a long while before we got our food. ( Again the place was empty) we get our food and the Naan bread we ordered was burnt. Out of curtesy we decided to ignore the burnt naan. When we finished, we had to wait close to 10 minutes to get the check. I had asked the busboy for it and he pretended to look for our waitress to request the check and wondered around the restaurant, another waitress came by 10 minutes later with the portable cashier device and left us with the terminal . I requested a printed receipt and waited another 10 minutes before our waitress apologetically came back and brought our receipt. I have never experience this behavior before, but after today, I will think twice if I ever decide go back to this place. read more

Wow! I am so glad I found this place on Yelp! It's in a small strip mall on the north side of 2100 S and around 300 West. Their food is delicious and I'm always looking for new, good ethnic restaurants. I came in solo at lunch, so I had to try the lunch buffet. The buffet is large, fresh, and stocked full of favorites. I tried the chicken biryani (great, with that hit of heat that is welcome and not enough to blow out your palate); aloo muttar (potatoes and peas), butter chicken, curry chicken, and onion pakora. Everything is delicious!! I wish my eyes weren't so much bigger than my stomach, as I was not able to finish off my plate. I came in at around 12:30 on a Tuesday for lunch. I wanted to try the buffet and was so happy I got to! The service was very friendly and attentive. My server was really nice and was quick to take my drink order and also ask if I want naan with my meal (included with the buffet). I was impressed by how clean the restaurant is. The food in the lunch buffet rotates daily based on chef's specials. I was pleased to find a large variety of dishes, all freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Some of the foods I got to enjoy were butter chicken, vegetable coconut korma, chicken drumstick biryani, chicken curry, saag chicken, rice, assorted vegetable pakora, tandoori chicken, and warm butter naan. I also got to try the kheer for dessert (rice pudding with raisins and cashew). Everything was SO GOOD and the kheer was so surpisingly addictive -- I went back for seconds of this despite already feeling quite full. There were a few items that I did not get to try this time just because I was very full, but will have to try next time. All of their food was really good! My biggest disappointment was that you get very small portions for the price. There are cheaper places, with the same quality of food, where you can get more. I think the service was fine, although I was rushed to place my order. The server probably came over 3 times within 6 minutes to ask what I wanted, even though I had just sat down and mentioned I needed more time. Apparently this used to be one of the Kathmandu restaurants (there are several in the SLC area), but they redid the inside and changed their menu. I wish their menu was ordered a little bit differently. They only do the QR code menus, which is fine, but if you want their vegetarian options, you have to scroll allll the way to the bottom (which I didn't have time for on my visit because the server kept coming by). read more

They charge the same price for kids 7 and older which my son didn't eat due to spice. The tandoori chicken was bland and had no spice but everything else either had a sweet spicy taste or just hot.
