Royal feast !! Chicken tandoori with (3) dishes of your choice
    Amy R.

The royal feast was the perfect option for two people to try multiple dishes. It comes with two appetizers, we added paneer. ( see pics) and it comes with chicken Tandoori, rice and gulab jamun . We added beef vindaloo, chicken korma and Makhani.. these two items seemed to be the same. The gulab jamun was sweet and delicious, so glad we did this plate to try several items, I'd not likely had tried a dessert and I love this one! Great food !

I've always ordered Royal India delivery--but I finally came in person and it was so tasty (as always)! I was impressed by how many people were there even on a Wednesday night. The staff was super friendly and made great recommendations. The sampler appetizer platter was a perfect place to start. Then the butter chicken and sang paneer rocked my world. Totally comforting and flavorful. The ambiance inside is clean and simple. Don't let its location in an odd strip mall fool you, this place is worth the visit.

Royal India has been one of my go-tos for years because they have consistently been great! My typical order is butter chicken, vegetable samosas, and garlic naan. The portions are a good size, so you can easily get two meals out of your entree.

The food portion was huge! I got 3 servings out of this. The food was freshly made and seasoned to perfection. I will be ordering again! I'm so impressed.

My plated dish with a little bit of everything.

I had a fantastic meal from Royal India--perfectly packaged and delivered quickly. Why I Recommend It: Authentic flavors - Medium spice was perfect. Great Chicken Marsala - Tender strips of chicken with amazing flavor. Great value - 5-6 servings for under $70! What I Didn't Love: Paneer Jalfrezi - Good flavors, but not my style. I prefer chili paneer. Great choice for traditional Indian food, generous portions, and variety at a great price!

First time trying Indian food and Royal India Cuisine in Reno is Appetizer Platter: samosas (crispy potato pockets), chicken pakora (not spicy, crunchy heaven), veg pakora (my fave, addictive), paneer pakora (fried cheese with a tofu-like texture), Aloo Tikki (crispy potato cakes, soft inside) Main Course: butter chicken (spice level 3, perfect), Aloo Saag (cheese cubes in creamy spinach), garlic naan (soft, garlicky, naan for days!) Drink: Mango Splash (mango juice, vodka, Sprite, lime). Sweet, fresh, dangerously good Everything was amazing and not spicy at all like people warned me. Cozy vibes, friendly staff, perfect for a date or fun night out. Can't wait to go back! Ask about 15% off $50+

I've only experienced one Indian food restaurant my whole life/living here in Reno and let me tell you, Royal India has changed my perspective. The place that I gone to in Midtown I thought was so good until I went here. Their service was so fast too, it felt like the waitress took my order and then came with all the food, it literally felt like 5 minutes but who knows. Their naan bread tasted fresh and not over softened nor dry, the best naan bread I've had so far. It was my first time having a saag paneer and I immediately fell in love with the dish. Their butter curry chicken was absolutely yummy. I wasn't too crazy with their appetizers sampler but that was also different and good. I shall come back here soon!

The food here was excellent, the staff made sure we had everything needed, consistently. Samosas were along with the Tadoori Chicken.

Amazing value for the price, the butter chicken was excellent and the service was professional. This was a nice place to discover for dinner, a lot cheaper than the other restaurants in Reno with bigger portions. Definitely check it out!

If you go anywhere else for Indian food in Reno you're wrong. This place is by far the best in town in all aspects.

My kids came with this time and enjoyed the pineapple shrimp curry and the mango curry (I forget…read morethe unique name of the mango dish but on the menu it had a crown icon and was not the mango one with the basil)-- both entrees were ordered in mild. These flavors were completely new to me, I've never had curries from an Indian restaurant that tasted like these. The pineapple curry was sweet but a little tangy and reminded me a bit of Thai curry (perhaps turmeric was really elevated in this curry?). The mango curry was also very sweet, it almost tasted like a sweetened butter chicken curry (specifically the northern Indian version of butter chicken-- if you know, you know). My son said the sweet flavor of the mango chicken curry reminded him of orange chicken from Chinese takeout and funny enough I thought it actually kinda did too! While these dishes were a hit with the kids (ages 7, 5, and 2) most adult tastebuds would prefer ordering them with at least some spice to balance out the intense sweetness (otherwise it can just seem "1 note"-- but 1 note "mild" was absolutely perfect for our young children who find even ground black pepper to be "spicy" haha). Maharaja Royal Bites, you just keep impressing me! I'm super happy we found these kid friendly options in your menu. Oh, ps, the kids LOVED their fried chicken appetizer too! Yelpers, ahelpful tip, we've noticed that here a "mild" spicy level can vary based on the dish. Sometimes it means literally no spice (like in the kid-friendly pineapple shrimp and mango curry) and other times we have found that it meant "yes, there is spice, and it's certainly more noticeable than black-- or even white ground-- pepper).

Maharaja made for a wonderful Mother's Day treat for Fritzie…read more First and foremost the food is great. There's no complaints there, but they didn't have Bhindi Ali, their Okra dish, it saddened me some. The rest of the meal I hoped would make up for it. We enjoyed their sampler (assorted snacks) which were an assortment of meat samosa, veggie samosa, chicken pakora, veggie pakoras and Aloo tikki. Delicious yet sizable bites to get you going. Their Lamb Curry, wonderfully made, tender. The sauce it was made with was delicious, the protein itself was gamy as to be expected, but day two after taking some home and eating it, not as much. Their Saag Paneer is what you would expect from most Indian restaurants, served piping hot, good cubes of cheese for texture and added flavor. Their Chicken Tikka masala was delicious, creamy, flavorful along with their garlic naan and of course we had to get Mango Lassis to drink. These are go to's in my opinion to determine your experience. They have to get these right and they didn't disappoint. The service was good, our waiters and hosts were kind and accommodating, I even got a little bit of history behind some of their wall art, the ambience was average, plenty of patrons holding conversations, enjoying meals, the music wasn't too loud from what I can recall, but it definitely carried the average volume. All in all, a wonderful visit. I recommend you try it for yourself.

This is by far one of the worst Indian buffets I've ever been to…read more 1.) Options are limited somewhat. Two carts worth of food whereas others have three to four carts. 2.) No soup and salads are very limited and basic. 3.) Chicken Tikka Masala was very sweet but lacked any savoriness. I couldn't distinguish spices beyond the sweet taste. The sauce was so red that there is no way to make it that red with little to no distinguishable tomato base flavor that I can only deduce that they used a ketchup base and red dye. Ketchup because I swear I can taste a hint of ketchup under the sweet flavor. 3.) Goat curry was ok at first. It still lacked flavors that are the hallmark of Indian cuisine. However, they brought a new batch out and this batch was too salty. It overpowered any little flavoring that was there before. The meat wasn't as tender and you can tell the brine was overly salty because the goat meat was salty. 4.) The veggies were a complete miss for me. Again, no flavor other than sourness that is the yogurt. 5.) Chicken curry was mush. And the flavor was assaulting my senses that I found it weirdly... stale like a damp wash cloth left overnight. 6.) Naan was decent actually. Not as garlicky or buttery as some other places but it was fresh and crunch and fluffy. Too bad nothing was available to eat it with. Maybe it's off today or something but I can't forgive the $21.00 price tag. If it was $17 or less then I wouldn't bother with a review but after a 15% tip it was almost $25 I think.

Thankfully, Yelp led me to this convenient haven of flavor, and we finally got to try it last week with a takeout order. We ordered the chicken tikka, chana masala, garlic naan, and samosas. Everything was absolutely delicious! They gave us plenty of rice, and the garlic naan was plentiful and only $2--such a great deal. My only small complaint is that the samosas were covered in chana masala, which made them a bit soupy. It was still tasty, but I would have preferred plain samosas, which I didn't see as an option on the menu. Ordering online was super easy, and the food was ready in just 15 minutes. Bonus points for the gas station itself being clean and offering a large selection of snacks and drinks. I'll definitely be back for more!
