Walking in, a fellow customer warned me not to stay and pointed out bugs crawling all over the walls and floor, sinks dirty, clutter all over. They sat my daughter at a pedicure chair with a film of dirt in the pedicure bowl . Then the tech proceeded to do my daughters toenails without sanitizing the tools in between customers. We ended up stopping her and walking out. I read some really bad reviews for this shop, but I never had a bad experience! My partner and I got several gel and acrylic sets and the techs were fantastic! We are both very queer and they never gave us any looks, always so polite! They took their time and were very careful to not hurt you. I have been coming to this nail salon for almost 20 years. I have never had a problem. Everytime I go somewhere else in Gainesville I am over charged and I got less than service. This is not the fanciest most updated place but they have always been sweet and kind. They do a great job and they get to know their clients over time. read more

Experience was a 3 only because the place wasn't kept up and the employees weren't personable. My nails came out great, aside from that! Wasn't expensive at all. I hope they (in the near future) use profits to fix the place up. All I can say is ouch! Came in for a nice relaxing pedicure but I ended up bleeding. Then I watched her file my toes while the big toe was bleeding and put it back in her box. The message was quick but they do use the paraffin which is nice. The nail polish is sloppy and then I watched her use the same nail file on the person next to me. I went to this Nail Salon today and I was very disappointed, the customer service was really bad, I was trying to engage in conversation with the guy that was working on my nails, and it was really clear that he really didn't want to be bothered by me. Not to mention how my nails came out, after he finish doing the Pink and Whites, another lady was suppose to be putting on the Gel topcoat, before she was about to start doing that I asked her could she please clean around my nails because their was so much acrylic around my fingers and it looked really messy, she told me I could clean them up when I get home. So with that being said I will never go there anymore, I had to pay $60 for nails I didn't even like. So it was a lesson learned. read more

I'm confused did they think I came in here to observe.. After standing there in my opinion far too long I decided this place isn't worth the aggravation. This place is great for the price. I have only had gel nails done there twice, but they have done a fantastic job both times. The gel they use never chips and I wash my hands frequently with work and only have them done every two and a half to three weeks. The shop could use some tidying up, but I've seen them wash the tools so that's what's important. read more

Not a good place. Stay away! They reuse rubber gloves and do not sanitize the foot baths or their tools between clients. Yuck!!!

Royal nails is convenient and has decent prices, so I always try to see the good in this place but it's becoming harder. So I'll start with the positives. The pedicures they give are great and every time I get my eyebrows waxed they turn out good as well. Unfortunately this place is dirty, it's quite obvious they don't clean it. I've had several bad experiences but I will share my most recent. I arrived right after they opened, only 2 people were working but both were busy with customers so I just looked at polish colors and waited patiently. I was never greeted, smiled at, or given a wait time. As I was waiting I looked to my right and saw 3 huge daddy long legs with the webs in the corner. I'm not scared of them but I immediately started thinking they could be on me or in my purse that was by them. I went to sit elsewhere to find dead bugs along the window seal. I decided to just stand by the door. After waiting an hour they took me back for my pedicure. She did an excellent job but one thing had me concerned. They have you dip your feet into a warmer which contains hot wax lotion. She took it out of her previous customers tub and put my feet in it... Are they not supposed to clean them or use new wax? I don't like the idea that I'm dipping my feet into something other people have as well. Then I had my nails painted (gel) and they turned out great! The only thing was that the nail dryer had other people's nail clippings and dirt all over it. They could have so much more clientele and better reviews if they just cleaned the place! Also they don't really talk to you, so that's not exactly a welcoming feeling. read more

You can do better. A friend recommended Royal Nails and I'll begin with the good part. The price is good and a pedi includes a paraffin wax. 1. Poor selection of nail colors; 2. Salon appeared dirty and too cluttered; 3. The manicurists whispered to each other in their language -- very rude; 4. The manicurist hacked my cuticles with dull scissors; and 5. and most important the manicure lasted two days. Pick up your game Royal Nails, there is so much competition out there and you need to invest in your salon and staff if you want to survive this very competitive market. read more

This salon was extremely dirty and cluttered with junk all over the place. I asked for the tub to be sterilized with cleanser while I was there. I was told that it had just been cleaned, so I reluctantly allowed them to put water in for my foot soak. The nail tech then selected the tools for my pedicure from what looked like a microwave oven. They were not in any sealed container, so I asked her to sterilize the tools again with alcohol. When she became extremely irate with me and complained that I was being unreasonable....I left the salon.....never to return. I hope the Department of Health reads these reviews. read more

Bad, just bad..... I've gone to this salon for the last 2 years only because it was convenient. I've dealt with the dirty conditions and rude technicians longer than I care to admit but as of this last week, Royal Nails is on my "do not frequent" list. As a regular customer, I don't expect to be nickel and dimed to death by paying for such services as "cutting down" my nails ($4.00 more which was not even on their pricing list) or using "new" polish ($2.00 more which was not listed on their price list either). You are almost forced to use the "new" polish as all the other polish has been so watered down with acetone, you can see through the color with 2 coats on your nails. Come on, how much could a bottle of nail polish cost them, maybe .50 cents? THROW IT AWAY!) I accepted the extra charges but decided if that's what they were going to do, then I was no longer going to tip the technician! The first time I was charged an extra $6.00 and didn't tip the nail technician so not to my surprise, the loud Vietnamese squabbling started. I knew my "new no tip policy" was the cause so I politely smiled, thanked them and walked out the door. Well, since they now know that I will not tip, they avoid me like the plague when I walk in the door. Last Monday, I went in to get my nails done. There were 3 technicians there and after waiting 30 minutes, they all completely ignored me so I walked out the door without saying a word. Nail salons are a dime a dozen so I cruised on down the road to Venus Nails Spa which did an awesome job and treated me like a queen. The salon was immaculate and the nail polish was fine, the technician was wonderful and actually carried on a conversation with me the entire time I was there. The only thing I can say to "Sabrina S." is, that wonderful $25 pedicure you're getting with the paraffin wax was used by 50 other customers prior to you sticking your foot in it so good luck with not catching any infections! Check out Venus Nails Spa, same price, quality service and customer care. It's in the same general area and a quality salon, I guarantee you will not return to Royal Nails. read more

This salon is FILTHY! And I mean FILTHY! I found them to be unfriendly, rude, and way overpriced. The pedicures we got were good, but they wanted me to put my feet in paraffin wax that was obviously dirty and the customer before me stuck his feet in same wax. As did the customer before him and before him and probably to infinity and beyond. I declined. The gel fill and polish was terrible. It looks like I still need a fill! I asked the "tech", and I use that word loosely, to get the edges and the bottom closer with the polish. She said she couldn't, it would get on my skin and couldn't be cleaned off. She wasn't even close. I 100% will never go back and I hope you heed this advice and stay away! read more

I wish I could give them less than one star. My friend and I went in to get a spa pedi. When we came in they made no mention that there were not enough people to do us both at the same time. 40 mins later, they finally get to me. Typically I wouldn't even care because I was hanging with my friend relaxing but we needed to go get her kid in 20 mins. I told the lady that finally came to me that I would not have time for a pedi. Well then a manager came over to me and asked me to move from the comfy chairs to one of the plastic hard ones. Mind you, it was in the morning so there was only one other client in there and noone waiting. I asked if I could just hang there while I waited for my friend to get done. She told me no. I asked to talk to a manager and she said she was the manager. I said, I don't understand, there is noone waiting, I've been sitting here for 40 mins waiting for a spa pedicure and now I have to leave, I can't just sit with my friend and she said no, move to the plastic chair. At which point I walked out. Absolutely ridiculous! I guess you get what you pay for. Would rather pay the extra money to go to Haile Village Spa than to go back there!! I've been coming here for years through multiple owners and it's been getting worse each time. Today I've finally had enough. The owners (husband and wife team) are rude (wife is horrible, just horrible, husband nice). The place is disgustingly dirty. I wouldn't house an animal in something that dirty let alone "spa" services. After today I worry if what disease I might get. The workers have absolutely no personality. The wife owner fancies herself as a singer and will turn the music up loudly while she wails (and is sounds like a dying animal) away lying under a blanket on one of the pedicure chairs. I have to say this is worse than being in a 3rd world country. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else! Today is my last time. read more

Let me see, where to begin. They are not very clean, the wax for the footbath is not changed, their foot tubs are not sterilized between clients, the foot and leg massage is negligible, hardly exists, I asked for me and my granddaughter to be done at the same time next to one another, a request which was completely ignored. The first massaging chair I was in was broken, as was my granddaughter's, would not massage all the areas it is supposed to, the manicure on both of us was very sloppy and had to be repaired by one of the owners, who did a decent job. My granddaughter actually had big splotches of red polish on the tips of her finger and on her ankle. What were they doing??? They were not that friendly. All in all I just couldn't believe it, worst mani/pedi I have ever gotten and even though it was not expensive, it cost me $70 for both of us. I was just shocked to get such a bad experience. I've gone to places that were cheaper and far far better. Will NOT go there again. read more
