From the moment we met Holly, Director of Resident Services, I just felt a sense of calmness and care. Oh, and if you visit during the week, Holly has her dogs there and they are so adorable and sweet. The staff could not have been kinder, and her primary caregiver, Sarah, was so good to her. I am so happy that we found this place for her. My Mother was blessed to have been a resident of Royal oaks Inn. She was previously with their sister facility, Hillcrest Royale, for over 8 years and loved every moment of her residency there. After she experienced a fall and she needed more care, I moved her to Royal Oaks and I couldn't have asked for better support and love and care than she received there. Holly and Brandon are simply exceptional communicators and advocates and my favorite of all time person, Lucia (spelling?)was by my Mom's side daily. The staff is caring and patient, the facilities are lovely and clean and the atmosphere is warm and embracing. You couldn't make a better decision than to have Royal Oaks be that place for your loved one when they need that additional care. When it came time for hospice care, they held my hand through that process and were always quick to answer any questions. My father stayed at Royal Oaks Inn for the last year of his life. He was almost 101 when he passed and he had dementia during the time he was there. He didn't make it easy for them, but the entire staff made the last very difficult year the best it could be. They always treated him with care, compassion and respect. And they were also a great support for me. Rosie at the front desk always had a warm smile and greeting and was very kind to my father. All the nurses and helpers were great! After numerous months in and out of the hospital, skilled nursing and a different, horrible assisted living place, I was directed to Royal Oaks Inn by Tami Podell at Senior Living Connections. My husband received wonderful care and the nurses, staff and management were extremely responsive. Royal Oaks Inn may be called assisted living, but the level of care was more akin to an excellent skilled nursing facility. Unfortunately, my husband was terminal and his many maladies eventually caught up with him. But, his stay at Royal Oaks was a shining light in the last months of his life. The first, my Godmother, began with their family in Studio City when they had an assisted living facility there, then moved to Hillcrest Royale for several years and for her last year, 100-101 yrs. old, moved to Thousand Oaks Royale for a higher level of care. My 91-year-old mother transferred from Hillcrest Royal Retirement Home to the Royal Oaks Inn Assisted Living in July 2020 because she needed additional care due to the advancement of her Alzheimer's disease. Both facilities are run by the same family. My mom lived at Hillcrest for approximately nine years, and loved the place. I was concerned that the transfer would be difficult, but fortunately, I was wrong. The staff at Royal Oaks were great. They made my mother feel right at home and made the transition very easy. They were very caring and thoughtful, always willing to help my mother. Holly and Brandon, who own and manage the facility, were great to deal with. They were very accommodating and flexible, and very "hands on" in the daily operation of the facility. Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 situation, many of the social activities and visitation, that would normally occur, had to be put on hold, but normally, the facility puts on several activities and events to keep the residence happy and occupied. If you're looking for a place that makes the residents feel like family, and isn't one of those large corporation-type facilities, then I would definitely recommend Royal Oaks for your loved one. Unfortunately, my mom passed away December 2020, but I do appreciate the care that Royal Oaks gave her while she lived there. read more

This place used to be called TORCH many years ago. Since it's been under new management, it's now called Thousand Oaks Royale, completely remodeled and they have great staff. My Grandfather lives here and he loves it. He's well taken care of here. When my wife and I found this place, it was a clear decision on where he's going to be living.
