I came with 4 children on a Friday afternoon at 2:30P.M. Price for one game with shoes for the four came to $29. There were two staff members during our visit. They both worked tirelessly to help service the patrons bowling. Our lanes were switched twice as the bowling balls continued to get stuck. The second lane got to the point where we had 12+ balls stuck on the lane, as we had become tired of going to find help each time a ball was stuck. This really hurt the momentum of the game. And since all the balls continued to accumulate, the kids would miss turns as the sensor would incorrectly assume the balls stuck were gutter balls. The group next to us also continued to have the same issue. I wish we were able to type our names in as well. Names are put in by the staff member checking you in. I booked a party at All Star Bowl for my daughter's 15th birthday. I began the process by filling out the online form, but no one had contacted me after a couple days, so I called. The gentleman who answered was friendly, efficient and helpful. He quickly checked the schedule for the date I requested and provided the available times for that day. He took my credit card info for the $25 deposit and we were all set! On the day of the party, we arrived and were greeted warmly. Again, the gentleman at the desk was kind and provided service with a smile. I think the cupcakes gave us away because he greeted me by name. Our party was scheduled for 2pm, but several of my guests were going to be late, so when he asked what time the entire group would arrive, I was relieved. They were flexible with us on the start time, so we pushed it back a half hour to give our group time to arrive. We were provided a list for guests' names to be put in the computer and for bowling shoe sizes to be listed. It made everything run smooth and quick. Pizzas were scheduled to come out 30 minutes into our party, and they were right on time. I did have to go ask about our beverages, but those came out rather quickly too. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is due to the ongoing computer malfunctions on our lanes. We had lanes 45-48 initially, but since a few of our guests couldn't make it, we were given 45-47. Immediately, 45 presented itself to be an issue, so that group was relocated to 48. Eventually, 46 began doing the same things. Balls kept getting stuck, pins weren't being counted and the games kept ending prematurely. It was really frustrating. They did comp 2 of the pizzas ($16 value) for the inconvenience, but that really couldn't make up for the fact that some of us never got to finish even one game. Overall, the friendliness of the staff made the difference and my teenagers had a good time. If I were to return, I definitely would not choose to bowl on those lanes! read more

I bowl in one of the local leagues during the week and decided to purchase a newer bowling ball. After several weeks of vacation I decided Monday would be the best day to pick up the bowling ball. I called All Star Saturday to verify what time the Pro Shop would be open to avoid wasting time. I arrived 12pm and find no one at the counter, I walk around to find another customer looking for someone as well. After 10 minutes two staff members appeared out of no where. Neither one seemed interested in asking me if I had been helped. I finally asked if the Pro Shop is open today one responds he is not sure then the other says it is not his department (not sure how many departments are in a bowling alley). The manager emerges 10 minutes later and apologizes about the wait. He stated the Pro Shop is not part of the bowling alley and they have there own hours. I asked what he meant because I called Saturday to verify the hours of operation and it was stated on the phone that the shop would be open Monday. He said they are contracted out and they never know when they will show up. By this time I was rather frustrated especially after spending 35 minutes idling. I told him I would wait a few minutes more. No one ever showed up so I left. He then disappeared and never saw anyone at the counter before I left to provide me any type of update. if I was able to give this business a negative review I would!! Our family came together for my son's return home from the military. our party was a party of 55 and we all played 2 games. Some of our party came in 30 minutes after the initial arrival. The gentleman worker first put our remaining party on an already occupied lane. When we asked to be moved because the lane was already occupied, the worker became indignant and said there is no one on that lane. When we had the occupants of the lane come down and tell the staff that they had already been assigned to the lane he tried to assign our party to, the worker became irate and said, " this is the only change I am making tonight ". I'm not a huge bowler but had a great time here! I came here with my whole soccer team on a Thursday. To my surprise it was full of people-- seemed to be a "senior bowling" league going on! We took up about 8 lanes and all had a good time. The man at the desk was very helpful with shoes even with all 30 of us girls coming up at the same time. Any time we had a problem with our lane they were quick to help and fix the problem. The prices seemed fair. The lanes were well taken care of. I can say that sometimes setting up the lanes was a little confusing because of all the buttons but maybe it was just me! Been to this bowling alley sever times now and have a lot of fun every time. The prices are better than most places and we still get the same great lanes with good service. The lanes don't have any hand fans which I wish did but no big deal. Maybe in a few years the computers will be updated to but nothing I complain about. They worked just fine for us. The water fountain down by lane 41 needs some attention to it. It looks rusty from the water and not very cool. I had a drink and almost wished I didn't. Will be back again though! read more

Visited All Star Bowl for a youth tournament and the only negative I could think of was lack of seating. Like many bowling centers there is simply not enough seating for large group tournaments. I frequent the All Star Bowl every week for my bowling league. It's a pretty decent bowling alley, with clean facilities, good prices, and lots of lanes. The food selection is just ok and they only take cash, which can be sometimes inconvenient. Pretty good staff, the maintenance guy is very helpful. However, there's not enough seating for everyone bowling during our league. They serve Sun King, which increases the cool factor of the bar. They only have a handful of small TVs incase you want to watch football or basketball during bowling. read more

We weren't told they close in an hour and 45 minutes. Bar closes an hour before closing time, which I just learned is common. Staff is rude, every staff member said, "You can go talk to the Manager" for any question. We have bowled here in a Saturday night league for the last 10 years. They have made some recent improvements, but it is still a tired alley. They have cosmic bowling every Saturday night and I would not bring my kids for that, due to the weed smell and foul language and self-proclaimed thugs. You would think you were getting a good deal considering it says $3.79/game on their website. To our surprise after bowling two games, our lane said that our prepaid limit was reached but we paid for four games. Apparently they charge $3.79 per game per PERSON. I understand per person shoe rental, but if your company's website says one thing and you're charging another, customers are going to get mad. $22 for two games of bowling.. Ridiculous. 1 star worst pro bowling shop in Indianapolis, there hours are at odd hours then they are not open with what is posted on their front door. I show up monday at 4:05 place is closed the guy comes in at 4:10 then he does not have his glasses, I try to explain how i want the ball drilled , he said he feels uncomfortable tells me to come back tomorrow and Luke will drill it , said he would tell Luke I am coming. I said you open at noon I will be here about 12:30. he said yes he will tell Luke I am coming in tomorrow at that time. I show up 12:30 pro shop hours are noon til 9pm , place is closed guy never showed up, front desk says he will be in at 2pm I said do you have a number to call him , they do not. I drove twice 30 minutes both ways, never got anything done. I would suggest you take your business to a pro shop that wants customers this place certainly does not know how to take care of anyone, I will never be back. read more
