We had a phenomenal time at Royal Prime Steakhouse celebrating Mother's Day. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor inside the Bally's hotel. There is also a Royal Prime Lounge in the lobby. As we walked through the restaurant to our table, I couldn't keep my eyes off the artwork displayed (they have an affection for peacocks). Our server Tiarra had the brightest smile and warmest spirit all evening. Our bread and drinks didn't take long to come out, and our entrees came not too long afterward. The Pinot Noir was smooth. My ribeye was juicy, jam-packed with flavor, and cutting it was like cutting butter. The fried green tomatoes were a great choice as well. My mom truly enjoyed her evening, and we'll certainly be making our way back. read more

Food was hit or miss. A medium-rare steak came tepid and was redone (after some odd discussion about how to do it) and arrived rare..really rare. My mistake; expecting hot food these days is a distant memory. I mean they tried but had no idea, I guess. Plates were not warmed; an order of bbq ribs was also barely warm. I know steak is supposed to be served hot on hot plates but whatever. The sides were delicious; mashed potato, grilled asparagus, mac n cheese. The oysters in the app mix plate were average at best, but overall it was an exciting appetizer for a party we were having. The mashed potatoes were more exciting in appearance than the decor, which was bland as vanilla pudding. If this is vying to be a premier steak house like Del Frisco or Ruth's Chris, a long way to go. Didn 't feel very posh except for the bill at the end. read more

My family had a lovely and delicious dinner at Royal Prime just now for Mother's Day. My husband and daughter had the Filet Mognon and I had the Scottish Salmon. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. Our server was Tasha. Tasha is friendly, professional and attentive. I felt like I knew her for years. The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming. On February 15, I arrived early for a dinner reservation and was directed by the host to seat myself at the bar for drinks and an appetizer. We sat at the bar for approximately 15 minutes without being greeted, acknowledged, or provided menus, despite the bartender being present behind the bar. Eventually, we were able to order drinks, which took an additional 10-15 minutes to receive. When our appetizer was delivered by another server, we asked for side plates and silverware. Those items never arrived. We ended up eating with the spoon that came with the macaroni and cheese. Due to the overall lack of attentiveness and service, we chose to cancel our reservation and dine elsewhere. I'm sharing this because I expected a much higher standard of hospitality. read more

Had the opportunity to go for my husband's birthday and we asked for a medium rare steak. The steak was well done for $45 steak and it looked like it was almost burnt. We were so hungry. We ate it, but I did not enjoy it at all. The macaroni and cheese had no flavor nor did the cream spinach. Somebody needs to reevaluate or taste these things because it was not worth the trip. read more

Food. My husband and I ate there yesterday evening. I ordered the wedge salad( unappealing, the salad was unclean looking, dry and tasteless.) Secondly, ordered the Bbq ribs( they looked amazing!) However, looks are deceiving! The top part of the meat was cooked, the bottom part was cold and not cooked. The bottom part was slimy. The jacama salad was filled with sugar. The server "Sandy" was very disrespectful. Every time she spoke she looked directly at my husband as though I wasn't there. $$$ big bill . Would NEVER go there again. They should be busier. The service was good, we didn't wait for anything, but for the price point it could have been a wee bit better, more attentive. The food was EXCELLENT. Sorry Borgata (old Homestead) but the meat quality was better here. It was one of the best steaks I've had in a while and I get high level butcher shop meats. You also have the option of family sides to share or individual sides. They should put something else on the plate.... A party of two ordered two filets and one side to share and so they bring you this huge plate with a 8oz piece of meat and nothing else on it. The decor is standard fine dining, and it wasn't crowded. I could wax on about personal opinions about things like dress codes for staff and customers both, and they sat us near the main aisle even though they weren't busy and we had a reservation, but it's Dover Downs, and I'm just happy they finally have a decent restaurant since they closed Docs. Overall we skipped the appetizer and dessert for reasons (under the weather that day would not have appreciated them), but the steak and mashed potatoes were fan-effing-tastic. Ordered the filet, ribeye, and creamed spinach. The spinach tasted of nutmeg and was sent back. The steaks were just fair in flavor, taste and texture. I don't think the steaks were of high quality. The service was outstanding, our waitress was kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The ambiance was okay, it was ice cold, should lower the air conditioning. Had our Thanksgiving dinner and Although I don't have complaints, but after seeing so many 5 star reviews I expected a bit of a "wow" factor. Our server was pleasant, polite but a little forgetful as we had to remind him a few times about a request or two. Again minor but nevertheless for the cost of dinner it could have been above average which is what I did not feel after dinner. Nothing bad just not the 5 star expectation. A couple of Surf & Turfs that were good and a Ribeye that I think thought was a bit on the fatty side. The side mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese were very good. Finished with a slice of creamy cheesecake and Creme Brûlée to seal the deal. Had I known it was inside the Bally's Casino I may have reconsidered making the RSVP. Nice dinings rooms. read more

We drive to Dover for a birthday and choose this steakhouse for dinner From the moment we walked in it was an amazing experience. We were greeted by 3 friendly hostesses and was given a table near the window to people watch(as the restaurant was in the Bally's casino). Our waiter was amazing he was waiting on 3 tables and we never felt ignored. The food was spectacular. We had a shrimp cocktail appetizer and we both had surf and turf entrees. So I am sort of writing this review based on the comments from the people who visited the restaurant with me. We were in the area for work and came to the restaurant for dinner. I didn't have an appetite and only ordered a cup of hot tea. Overall the waitress was kind. The food did take longer than expected to be served. The others joining me all said that their food was delicious which is why I am giving a 5 star review. Some ordered steak with sides and one person ordered ribs. Because the restaurant is in the casino, we thought we'd have to walk through a bunch of smoke to get to the restaurant but the casino was not smokey at all which was nice. read more

My girlfriend, Tori, and I just left Royal Prime in Dover, De. There was no special occasion, but the staff made us feel like VIPs. Torian, one of the three bartenders, made sure that we were well taken care of. Without "selling" the menu, he made sure that we chose the best menu items. He made our off menu cocktails perfectly, balancing the flavor of the mixers and the alcohol. Natalia came over to check on us and once asked, recommended a wine that perfectly paired with our meals. Austin, the manager, came to check on us and we shared a nice conversation about the quality of meet that is being used. The kitchen perfectly prepared our steaks to temperature, and the black pepper crust hit the palette with wonderful flavor. I wish the chef would have come out to receive compliments, though I didn't ask. Overall, we had a great dining experience and will be visiting the lounge tomorrow night. read more

The best experience yet here! This was our second time having dinner & this was a surprise bday dinner for a friend. Our waitress was fantastic & the prime rib special has us wanting to drive up each Thursday just to take advantage of it. We also had the ribs, delicious the coleslaw could use some help & a better portion. Appetizers we tried raw oysters, lamb chops & duck. All were delicious! Didn't like the extra charges for horseradish for the prime rib as that's a usual condiment served with it. Just ask if folks want it or not, to save cost. Also the Au Jus was more like a light gravy, used to that being just the pan drippings. Mine was covered in it where the other 2 plates were not. Luckily I was able to scrape it off. The brownie which is a Brookie to me, half cookie half brownie, is delicious. We had it as a sundae on our first visit. The bday girl had Creme Brûlée it was delicious. Overall a great meal & great service! It was a little disheartening to hear the hostesses say they didn't eat there because they couldn't afford to, that wasn't cool! read more

Ordered Prime Rib & Filet entrees which were cooked exactly to order. Seasonings were spot-on. Side dishes were more than ample size & prepared correctly. Had dinner there last night. While the ambiance was nice, I wish there was an attire requirement to match it. I understand attire does not define who you are, but it is still nice to look pleasant. Our server was very nice and attentive but we did end up finding very long hairs in our side dish. Had a corporate event here and the event manager was seriously amazing! We had more people than expected and he was sure to make them fit. It was a tight squeeze and from attendee feedback - for further events I would fit a smaller group in their private dining room. (We had about 28 guests). My experience with the event manager was amazing. He was very accommodating and kept in touch until the day of the event. Today's Mother's Day Buffet was over the top. The food was nothing less than awesome. I had the opportunity to have the smoked brisket which was just as good as any that I tasted before including the fine smoke houses in Texas. They had a wonderful spread with lots of variety. I also indulged myself with the shrimp and grits. It was cooked to perfection. The service by the hostesses and the servers was exceptional.
