My husband and I went last night for our anniversary. Jenna was our server, and she was attentive and friendly and really knew the dishes. This was our first visit, and we really enjoyed everything from ambiance to the food. I do wish the specials were printed or online to see what options you have and the pricing in advance, but aside from that our experience made us want to come back again.

Best crab cakes I ever had! This chef is wonderful! Ambience is casual and friendly . But the food is second to none! A must try .

Phenomenal! Even with it being NYE and a packed house. Food was FRESH! Delicious and served hot! Our baked potato, done to perfection remained hot throughout the whole meal! The fresh rolls & the crisp salads were top quality. The lemon scallops appetizer was tender, a good portion & not a hint of fishiness. My husband and I both got the short ribs (and I got it with a crab cake) the meat was so tender it melts in your mouth. The gravy was a perfect complement, rich flavorful & not masked by salt. The seasonal veggies were perfectly cooked & seasoned. The baked potato perfection and you know! The crab cake was delicately seasoned with minimal filler. Then dessert. The crème Brûlée was creamy with that sugared caramelized crust. My husband got the raspberry cheesecake that was homemade, creamy and deliciously decadent. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The owner worked tirelessly pumping out plates while the servers remained in sync. A very well orchestrated service. Kudos!

What an amazing small town find! A friend suggested it and we met there. What a surprise! Owner was cooking, service was polite and efficient and the food was amazing! I would recommend giving this place a chance, even though, I feel like keeping it a secret would be best!

They open at 3pm which worked perfectly as that is when we arrived. Ally provided stupendous service. Ambiance is cozy and attractive. Their playlist was great. Menu is huge with so many delectable sounding items. They offer quite a few gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. We ordered Bull's Horn and a French 75 with cognac not gin. Both were delicious and boozy. For food we ordered Eggplant Chips, Fig Brie Focaccia, Spicy Sweet Ribs, and Sweet Potato Tacos. I was impressed with the food. The Eggplant Chips were the star of the show. It came with a tzatziki that had diced not grated cucumber. I typically do not care for the cucumbers to be cut like that for tzatziki. Highly recommend. I can't wait to return.

There are three separate restaurants accessible through the main doors and an ice cream window along the building's alley way right side. The Red Hen restaurant is to the left and the BLK SHP to your right. Frankly, I never found out what bar/eatery is in the middle but it was the BLK SHP that was calling to us with their classic tapas menu. I walked through the door on the right to discover a warm comfortable dining room with a massive fireplace. The windows at BLK SHP offer glimpses of traffic along this classic South Jersey town and for non-rainy days there are seats on the old porch, which looked very comfortable. The menu is a fun curiosity with dining options listed under categories such as: "Earth, Greens, Land, and Water." It's a tapas bar, which means small plates and of course questions because we needed some menu insight. The waitress was awesome and VERY patient because she was facing newbies. Her recommendation was 2 to 3 items per person. She said some folks start "small" and add items throughout the meal, which she encouraged us to do. She did say some order a lot knowing they will be boxing food at the conclusion of their meal. My shared meal was pretty much close to perfect. Roasted Butternut Salad (The dressing was really good.), Arepa Pastor (Nice kick to its spices), Wild Mushroom Ragout (The waitress applauded this choice and although it was a relatively small plate they were very good!), and the closer was the lemony Queso de Cabra whose melted goat cheese served as dessert. If you go make sure your friends like to share food because this experience is all about sharing. Sharing delicious and filling food ... no room not temptation to check out the ice cream window. The doors swung open towards a rain drenched street and we looked at each other agreeing that the BLK SHP is a great choice to meet for dinner. I don't know what's in the middle at 1301 Kings Highway in Swedesboro and the Red Hen is to the left but comfort and great food are on the right at the BLK SHP.

Our favorites included the salad, roasted carrots, tuna steak, chicken kebabs, and tacos. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. They made sure everyone was taken care of and helped create a wonderful dining experience for our team. Came here for Baltimore Restaurant week during brunch for the $25 bottomless buffet special. Its…read moreusually hard to get a breakfast buffet wrong but unfortunately this buffet experience was lackluster. They offered a variety of items: deviled eggs, scrambled eggs, chicken and waffles, beef and chorizo quesadillas, sausage, home fries, and French toast. They advertised fruit salad on the menu but they didn't have it out on the day we went. For starters, the food was lukewarm. Everything could have tasted so much better if it was warm. Even when they would refill the pans, everything was still not warm enough. The restaurant was not packed but they were slow to refill for the parties that were there. When we tried to go back for a second plate, most of the items weren't replenished and the line was getting longer. It was so bad that one group asked to pay for their drinks and leave because they weren't able to get any food. My option of each item: Deviled eggs- yolk mixture was on the drier side and bland Scrambled eggs- they were ok. Just needed to be warm Chicken and waffles- it was giving "chicken tender on eggo waffle" chicken was better than the bland waffle. It also didn't help that the syrup they had was cold and thick. It made the waffle (and French toast) colder and hard to swallow. French toast- the first batch was (with the exception of being cold) perfectly cooked and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. The refill batches were so burnt and hard to chew and they didn't bother putting powdered sugar on them. Again, the cold syrup didn't help. Beef and chorizo quesadillas- they may have been a crowd favorite because getting a second serving was hard because they kept going quickly and took a while to replenish. They just needed to be warmer and served with sour cream. Home fries- great with the peppers and onions. Just need to be warmer. Sausage- my least favorite thing because it didn't taste like Sausage. It was very dry. Sadly, the food was a epic fail. This may be a great place for cocktails because the bartender mixed our margaritas perfectly. They had a Build Your Own Margarita menu with many different flavor options. I opted for the watermelon margarita with a Tajin rim. Delicious! My friend had a pineapple mango margarita with sugar rim and he was impressed also. The drinks earned them an extra star because otherwise, I think the food and the slow refilling of the buffet earned it 2 stars.
