I then received a response that the owner no longer wants to pick up my project. We all have emergencies and work to do. It's just common sense professional courtesy to notify others when you can't come out, have an emergency, or need to reschedule rather than keeping one waiting without any notification. Then cancelling because someone tells you that it would have been appreciated if you notify a client ahead of time that you weren't going to show up.
