I've been coming to Royal smoke shop ] for a while now, and the only reason I kept coming back was because of one of the full time employees, a pretty blank woman who has been there for quite some time. Her exceptional service and professionalism stood out, making me feel valued as a customer. She's also amazing at keeping the area under control, creating a safer and more welcoming environment despite the challenges of the neighborhood. Honestly, I don't even like going to that part of town--it's not the safest--but I braved it because she made it worthwhile. Unfortunately, my last visit this morning left me deeply disappointed. I had an encounter with another employee, a Hispanic female, who verbally assaulted me and made me feel completely disrespected. She threatened violence (but said she wasn't able to because she was on the clock). This did not stop her from yelling threats from behind the counter within earshot of about 7 people in line. It's heartbreaking that one person's behavior has pushed me to stop coming here because I can no longer support a place that allows such treatment of customers. I'll miss the black girl that "married" me and my boyfriend (was so cute). If the Hispanic girl no longer works there, I will continue to patronize the business but until then I'll make sure everyone I know stands with me in not spending money at this place and goes to ON THE RUN at Anaheim and Alamitos instead. read more

I have not used my credit card in 5 months, used it at this shop and I just got a credit card fraud alert within 2 hours of leaving. Do with that information what you will. Ez pass New York charge, never been farther east than Arizona. read more

Royal smoke on fourth Street is by far the best smoke shop in not just all of Long Beach but All, California, and quite possibly the entire world and I am not exaggerating at all when I say that. In a time when customer service is not only dead, but it feels like people are encouraged to treat customers like the common criminal and that the paying customer are somehow a nuisance and they are doing you a huge favor by taking your money for a product or service. I in this world that Royal Smoke operates and luckily for me and anyone who is smart enough to spend their hard earned dollar there, that the owner (who's name for some reason escapes me) not only puts the customer first, but it seems is single handedly keeping the phrase "Customer Service" alive and well. But let's be honest nowadays with inflation the way it is I bet most people would choose cheap prices over customer service or even quality. Royak Smoke proves that when small businesses operate properly the customer doesn't have to choose, we can have it all! Royal Smoke has name brand, quality products sold for competitively cheap prices all while being genuinely listened to and taken care of with a smile by anyone who works there (especially the owner). Also a small business owned and operated by a female (who if I remember correctly is a Long Beach native) is something you unfortunately don't see a lot of and the fact that she is doing it all while giving everyone who enters a warm welcome, kind words and a smile so bright it can light up all of downtown, if we as a community can't get behind and actively support that well we just don't deserve to live in one of the greatest beach cities in the world.
