When I was here, there was no line and my food was available at the pick up window right after I ordered. If it's busy, you can also mobile order. I came for their newest treat the New Orleans Mint Julep Float ($9.79). It's the classic mint julep with a scoop of mango sorbet. It's pretty sweet but a good treat for a warm day. I also got their Monte Cristo ($13.99) but it wasn't as good as I remember the one from Cafe Orleans being. It was one doughy chunk and the jam was just packages of Smuckers that you have to get yourself. What happened to my Monte Cristo sandwich? It was previously cut in half, dusted and so delicious. This time we got one dusted wedge that we cut ourselves and it didn't taste as good. I still love Royal Street Veranda. Recently, the family got new passes back to Disneyland and we've been going regularly. And while we've been trying out all that's new, I've also had the chance to come back into the comforting arms of some old favorites. In the case of Royal Street, the food here is just as good as I remembered, if not even better. Tucked on the side of Pirates of the Caribbean, this little shop serves up a variety of Sourdough Soup Bowls, cold drinks, and Monte Cristo Sandwiches. Throughout the year, they also offer differing holiday themed treats, and promotional glasses. But, I almost always walk away with their Clam Chowder. Rich and creamy, the chowder here is well seasoned and filled with both meat and vegetables, making for a very filling meal and an entire round of tasty sourdough to wash it all down. The lines here are almost always just a few minutes wait at most and you get your order filled quickly. And to top it off, the prices aren't too horrific (by Disneyland standards). I have been here for morning monte cristos and seasonal cold brews and for quick fritter bites in the evening, because this stand has a revolving rotating menu keeping it fresh in offerings. This trip gave me a Buffalo Chicken Beignets Slider opportunity which was awesome. Spicy chicken with slaw between two pillowy beignets... yes... this. Though this is supposed to be available until the end of June 2025, they always have a Monte Cristo-esque type of offering and I suggest you give that a try. With so many places to eat around Disneyland, Royal Street Veranda can sometimes be overlooked. This quick-service spot offers clam chowder, plant-based chili, and unique seasonal snacks--solid 3.75 star, a-ok rating for me. As of February 2025, the breakfast menu includes the popular Waffle Cristo (in full and half orders), seasonal snacks, and beverages. For lunch and dinner, entrées include clam chowder or plant-based chili in a sourdough bread bowl, seasonal items, kids' meals, and non-alcoholic beverages. The snack-size Mardi Gras Monte Cristo was delicious and comforting, perfect for one person or to share with a friend. The sourdough bread bowls can be a hit or miss. Although I have had fresh bread in the past, the bread in my recent order was cold and stale. Also, the price is the same whether you get the chowder or chili with or without the bread bowl. I think you'd get more soup in a regular bowl. I'll have to verify that next time. They sometimes charge extra for the little dipping sauce or extra jam cups. It would have been nice to include it with the items. There is one window for walk-up ordering and one for pickup, including mobile orders. Mobile ordering is the way to go and save time. Magic Key discounts also apply. There are a few tables available at RSV but they can be crowded. You can also walk over to Tiana's Palace, Harbour Galley, or Stage Door Cafe (next to River Belle Terrace) for additional tables and breathing room.
