I've been here several times, and I normally get the poke bowl, which is simple and extremely expensive for a poke bowl. I got it with ahi tuna, which seemed fresh and good quality. It's nice that it comes with crab salad, seaweed salad, and avocado, although that's below bare minimum for an expensive bowl. I wish there were more interesting toppings to make it more worth it, but it's a decent basic poke bowl. read more

We came by specifically for the hot dog of the month but the flavor didn't excites us so we opted for shrimp cocktail and the southwest salad. I also got a passion fruit martini that wasn't really martini aside from the fast that it was served in a martini glass lol idk it was good, not great overall. GCH Craftsman Grill offers a quick and convenient spot to grab baked goods, snacks, drinks, hot meals, and more. From take-out to dine-in, they're open from morning through late night. Entrance for most visitors (without a hotel reservation) is from Downtown Disney and through the Grand California Hotel lobby. I love coming here to try out seasonal items or enjoy some of the regular menu items. There are plenty of drink options, including alcoholic beverages. A few of my current menu favorites are the breakfast burrito, American breakfast, Angus burger, pizzas, and Hot Dog of the Month. The HOTM for Sept 2025 is the Cheeseburger Dog with fries. The combination of the cheeseburger and hot dog worked surprisingly well. The fries were coated, hot, and crispy. Overall, the meal was hearty and filling. Grab a few extra napkins, since it is a little messy. The dining areas are generally clean and pleasant, featuring both Indoor (with AC) and patio tables just outside. You may occasionally encounter loud children and families, as it's located in a Disney hotel. The service has been friendly, and the food is prepared promptly and brought to your table. I've dined at this restaurant many times while visiting Disney or staying at Disney's Grand Californian. We enjoy the food and drinks, which is why we continue coming back. The service in the dining area is often slow, which is why we don't come back as often as we may desire. My favorite beer is the Stereo IPA, but unfortunately it seems to be unavailable more often than it's actually on tap. Last night I was excited to order it because the server initially accepted my order without mentioning it was unavailable. A few minutes later, after bringing my daughter's drink, he came back to let me know the Stereo IPA was out after all. He also mentioned that several other beers were unavailable. As someone who worked as a server for 10 years, I know how important it is to review the restaurant's "86 list" before each shift so guests can be informed immediately if an item isn't available. It was disappointing to think it was available and then be told it was not. I did not order a different beer, and the restaurant lost a sale. We were also celebrating my daughter's birthday, which I had noted when making the reservation. While we certainly weren't expecting free dessert or anything complimentary, it would have been nice if someone had simply acknowledged her birthday. By the time we received our check, nothing had been mentioned, so I finally stopped by the host stand to ask what they normally do for birthdays. The host asked if she was wearing a birthday pin, which she was not. We just don't wear pins and we shouldn't have to advertise it outwardly to get a simple acknowledgment. The server did come back with a dessert and informed us that they were also out of pins. For dinner, we ordered the nachos to split. They were delicious, as always, although they took about 40 minutes to arrive. Our server was very friendly throughout the meal, but it seemed like he had been assigned too many tables to provide a higher level of service. Overall, we still enjoy this restaurant and will likely return, but I hope the management considers stocking more Stereo IPA if it's consistently selling out. It would also help if servers were kept up to date on unavailable menu items before their shifts and if special occasions noted on reservations were acknowledged, even with a simple "Happy Birthday." Those small touches would make the dining experience even better. read more

On a very thick slice of sourdough and had a very delicious ricotta on top. The honey and garlic was a great touch too! I liked that they had an espresso machine so I could get a cappuccino too. Since we were trying to avoid going to the same spots we always do, we ended up at GCH Craftsman Grill as there were plenty of same-day reservations. Very easy to get there from Disney California Adventure! We even got seated 25 minutes early since it wasn't too busy. First things first, I must have confused this spot with the other restaurants at the Grand Californian because it was entirely outdoors next to the pool. I didn't mind though actually because it was a nice day outside! I appreciated the nice, chill vibes. Pretty decent menu with a lot of options. I opted for the Carne Asada Quesadilla and my girlfriend chose the Poke Bowl. Solid quesadilla, had plenty of meat and cheese and was sufficiently filling without being too stuffed. I will come here time and time again. I like that I can eat at the restaurant without having to be a guest at the hotel. It helps with my staycation needs but also giving me a Disney fix. I can safely say I've tried so much of their menu and have never been disappointed. They are so amazing with food accommodations as well. This time I got the chicken baked nachos and the kids menu: Parmesan-crusted grilled cheese. The nachos are shareable, even if you have a large appetite. Now the grilled cheese, it's a must-have for every visit. The poke bowl, both salmon and tuna, are delicious and fresh, the pepperoni pizza is a large thin-crust pizza that truly reflects a Naples-style pizza. The only reason I give 4 stars is that my table isn't ready right at check in time for my reservation, but I understand it's a busy area. I love the seats near the pool but still shaded by canopies or umbrellas that give you a vacation feel without having to leave the state! read more

4/24/26 This has been our usual spot for diner when in the parks. We break away for a margarita pizza or nachos. Previously all of our meals had been high quality and satisfying portion sizes. Today we ordered our usual Nachos with everything on it, and margarita pizza. We noticed the nachos looked different than they used to 4 months ago. No pico, meat portions reduced. Lots of chips but toppings scarce. Flavors seemed a little off as well. As for the pizza, it looked different, tasted different and the texture was off. It was soggy and dough had no flavor. This grill is located inside the Grand Californian Hotel, right next to the pool and easy-access entry for the CA Adventure Park. It is very close and convenient for those staying at the hotel! Especially if you have little ones that need something quick and simple (the typical pizza, tenders, grilled cheese, etc.). My husband and I were starving after a park visit and wanted to get something quick but didn't want to go to DT Disney. We visited the Craftsman Grill, sharing a burger and some "sticky wings." The burger was good, your typical burger, but pretty messy and the bottom bun was barely holding on. The wings were accurately described, sticky with an Asian flavored glaze. In the end, the food is perfectly described and it hit the spot. It was what we needed for a good price, and very conveniently located near us. The traditional hotdog of the month for November had chicken mole with red pickled onions. It was okay but did not have the complex flavor one would expect even from a jarred mole from the store. Clam chowder was flavorless nor did it have a hint of clams or clam juice. The Carnitas Quesadilla looked impressive but there was barely had minuscule threads of meat or cheese. A bit disappointing to have carnitas and queso missing from a Carnitas Quesadilla. The tortilla was filled with corn relish and mayonnaise. I've had much better experiences before but this must have been a bad evening. It was a bit cold and I got a hot cocoa that tasted and looked like dirty water. It would seem like a bad attempt to cut corners and save money. I hope it was just a fluke read more

Nice getaway from the crowds. This quick service location is convenient and had no line at all when I arrived around 1pm. Variety of menu options, plenty of seating both inside and out. There's a Coke freestyle machine, condiments, napkins, utensils all laid out neatly for you to grab what you need. I ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed it. Portions were generous. It came with ketchup and some sort of mayonnaise sauce for the fish. They had packets of malt vinegar which I preferred with my fish. He had some kind of nachos. The service was great. We came here twice on our trip and both times the staff was very kind and accommodating. Whether you are staying at the Grand California Hotel or not, this is a dining location you definitely want to check out! It's a gorgeous area near the pool where you can sip a cocktail, grab a pizza, or even try an entree like fish and chips. The menu is pretty diverse to meet both the needs of anyone in your party, but also accommodate food allergies or dietary needs (vegetarian). When I saw the Forest mushroom and impossible sausage pizza on the menu, I knew I had to book a reservation (available 60 days out through the Disneyland app). I was not disappointed and there was plenty to share! The pizza could easily feed 2-3 people, so bring both an appetite and friends/family. There is a full bar, so if you don't see a beverage on the menu you like then request your drink of choice. I enjoyed both a cocktail on the menu, and my usual go to - a dirty vodka martini. I've never dined at this Disney restaurant so I decided to check it out! We had reservations and upon checking in, we were told the reservations list was backed up and it'd be another 20 min. A little rocky start but no worries! We checked out the spa store right out front to kill some time. After a few minutes, we got a text that our table was ready and got seated outside in their tabletop bar area that looked out into the pool. Our server was super apologetic about the reservation back up AND about the kitchen being backed up as well. He even went back to the kitchen to check on an eta for any potential food items ordered and ended up coming back with good news - they were all caught up! Watermelon Cucumber Cocktail - I can't remember the exact name of this drink but it was so darn good!! It tasted like juice. Refreshing juice! Anything that doesn't taste like alcohol but contains a good amount is an A+ in my book! Mushroom Pizza - I was extremely impressed with this dish! The Impossible meat tasted like they had added extra seasoning to it and made a meat substitute that's already good, great! The mushrooms melted in your mouth and paired well with the caramelized onions and cheese. The dough was super crispy as well! Here we go again... changing the entrees to reduce input costs while keeping the same prices. We used to love coming here and would recommend it to others all the time. The recommendation is no longer as the value was eliminated. I really don't know how they can still call their rice and soy bean bowl a "Poke Bowl" any longer. In honesty it needs to be renamed "Rice Bowl". In 2023 they cut the amount of Poke in half compared to 2022 and added imitation crab to the bowl and raised the price by $4. In 2024 they cut the amount of poke by at least 1/3 again, took out the imitation crab, and shrunk the size of the overall entree, but so far kept the price at $22. The nachos are still huge, but the chicken or beef you are supposed to get is nearly non-existent. I would guess at this point they might be putting up to a once of meat on the nachos. The nachos are exactly that - nachos with the fake nacho-style cheese, some black beans, a few jalapeños, and perhaps an ounce of protein. The pizzas are nearly the same, but it looks like they are cutting the amount of toppings. So it should be called "Cheese Pizza with _____". But check it out for yourself if you must. All the food at Disney has either risen in price again or shrunk, or both. At this rate, in 10 years time, it seems everything they have will be "bite size" and cost $50. read more

Located in the Grand California Hotel next to California Adventure, this restaurant offers a pleasant alternative to the crowds at the food venues inside the park itself. If you enjoy battling with other Disney tourists for tables after making your food purchases, this might not be for you. After trying to maneuver through the grad night crowds, I was more than happy to escape the madness by locating the hotel entrance from the park and looking for the dining options I had previously read about. You do need to have proof of paid park entrance to return to California Adventure so make sure you don't leave your ticket or cell phone with your magic key pass with someone who is not coming with you to the hotel. You will need to be screened by security for reentry as well. After scanning the menu, I decided to try their wagyu gouda burger while my wife ordered the hot dog of the month which was some kind of Italian dog as I remember it. Prices are a little higher than in the park but not so much that it's a deal breaker. $24 for the burger and $16 for the dog was reasonable for Disney (if that's actually possible). For some reason, the website shows prices that are $4 more for each item. I'm not sure why that is. The burger came with grilled red onions which I would have preferred raw, lettuce, tomato, and lemon aioli served on a toasted brioche bun. It includes a side of either seasoned fries or fresh fruit. The fries were kind of strange, like steak fries sliced thin so they were almost like thick chips. I wasn't really crazy about them. I should have ordered the fruit. My wife's hot dog had arugula and a sweet sauce with melted gouda on top. She liked it but I found the hot dog a bit salty. My burger was a good burger but I think this Wagyu business is vastly overrated. I don't think it makes a bit of difference unless it's actually Japanese Wagyu. American Wagyu just seems like retitled prime or sometimes just choice grade. The soda is self serve and they have those machines that allow you mix a variety of beverages to create your own customized drink if you'd like. Don't forget to show them your annual pass since you can get your park discount at the hotel restaurants as well. The servers are extremely polite and helpful. They are actually only there to bring your order when your food is ready but our server went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and where everything was located if we needed more. The dining area is soooo much more pleasant than the madness inside the park. It's a little inconvenient to leave the park and have to go through security to return but I found it relaxing to escape the loud, boisterous (and sometimes obnoxious) high school kids celebrating grad night. read more

My son had the poke, which he said was delicious. It definitely looked better than mine! I had a Frozen Rose to go with my quesadillas, and my son had a Frozen Daiquiri. As you enter, there are many desserts / treats and some grab and go type of snacks available. You order at the registers, then get seated at a table with a number. The cast members will bring your food out to you. We have eaten here multiple times during our stays at GCH. The Mediterranean wagyu burger was a hit. Very juicy and a decent portion size. Same with the shawarma chicken skewers. Breakfast for take out was great too, but the portions seemed a bit smaller due to the confined box size. Maybe that's just my imagination. Overall, this is a very convenient spot to either grab food to go, or dine in. We ordered our food poolside during a recent stay at the Grand Californian. The servers were all very attentive and we were able to place multiple orders throughout the day without issue. The food and drinks did not disappoint, and the service was awesome throughout the entire day which was appreciated. Despite trying other things on the menu, the shining stars were the chicken tenders and fries. Their fries were so perfectly crisp we even ordered more lol. The ambiance near the pool was to be expected. The umbrellas were a welcomed relief from the sun. The bar area at the actual restaurant was nice too, and there were TVs so you could catch a game and enjoy some drinks if you're trying to find some adult time while on a family vacation.
