Hot Dog of the Month for Sept 2025 - The Cheeseburger Dog $17
Phil C.

GCH Craftsman Grill offers a quick and convenient spot to grab baked goods, snacks, drinks, hot meals, and more. From take-out to dine-in, they're open from morning through late night. Entrance for most visitors (without a hotel reservation) is from Downtown Disney and through the Grand California Hotel lobby. I love coming here to try out seasonal items or enjoy some of the regular menu items. There are plenty of drink options, including alcoholic beverages. A few of my current menu favorites are the breakfast burrito, American breakfast, Angus burger, pizzas, and Hot Dog of the Month. The HOTM for Sept 2025 is the Cheeseburger Dog with fries. The combination of the cheeseburger and hot dog worked surprisingly well. The fries were coated, hot, and crispy. Overall, the meal was hearty and filling. Grab a few extra napkins, since it is a little messy. The dining areas are generally clean and pleasant, featuring both Indoor (with AC) and patio tables just outside. You may occasionally encounter loud children and families, as it's located in a Disney hotel. The service has been friendly, and the food is prepared promptly and brought to your table. The staff also helps clear the used plates.

Another great trip(s) for another visit to GCH CG. Always quality food and drink presented well and with a smile! The atmosphere is so released yet casually dressed up!

Very convenient and great food! Hot breakfast opens at 6:45 and we had our order very quickly. The avocado toast was so good! On a very thick slice of sourdough and had a very delicious ricotta on top. The honey and garlic was a great touch too! I liked that they had an espresso machine so I could get a cappuccino too. Great, quick, convenient! All of the workers were very helpful and nice as well.

We were deciding on the multiple dining options at Disney on our latest visit. Since we were trying to avoid going to the same spots we always do, we ended up at GCH Craftsman Grill as there were plenty of same-day reservations. Very easy to get there from Disney California Adventure! We even got seated 25 minutes early since it wasn't too busy. First things first, I must have confused this spot with the other restaurants at the Grand Californian because it was entirely outdoors next to the pool. I didn't mind though actually because it was a nice day outside! I appreciated the nice, chill vibes. Pretty decent menu with a lot of options. I opted for the Carne Asada Quesadilla and my girlfriend chose the Poke Bowl. Solid quesadilla, had plenty of meat and cheese and was sufficiently filling without being too stuffed. I had some of the Poke Bowl and it was pretty good. Service was fine, no complaints here. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at GCH Craftsman Grill. Worth a return visit.

We came to the restaurant to be more relaxed after walking around Disneyland theme park for 6 hours. Very calm and soft music playing, food is very typical pool food but elevated. Chicken wings and pizza were a lot better than expected, Poke bowl and salmon is average. Service was fast and efficient and was great. Prices are pretty expensive but you are in a fancy Disney hotel

We ate several pieces simply because we were hungry, but were very dissatisfied with the quality of this pizza compared to previous visits.

4/24/26 This has been our usual spot for diner when in the parks. We break away for a margarita pizza or nachos. Previously all of our meals had been high quality and satisfying portion sizes. Today we ordered our usual Nachos with everything on it, and margarita pizza. We noticed the nachos looked different than they used to 4 months ago. No pico, meat portions reduced. Lots of chips but toppings scarce. Flavors seemed a little off as well. As for the pizza, it looked different, tasted different and the texture was off. It was soggy and dough had no flavor. We were disappointed for the first time here at GCH craftsman grill. Will think twice before deciding to eat here again.

Excellent breakfast. Dining poolside was so fun and this food was elevated. The drinks were good and the granddaughter approved the s'mores waffle of the month. Loved the frittata drizzled with hollandaise sauce and the refreshing salad that accompanied it. Service was great!

This grill is located inside the Grand Californian Hotel, right next to the pool and easy-access entry for the CA Adventure Park. It is very close and convenient for those staying at the hotel! Especially if you have little ones that need something quick and simple (the typical pizza, tenders, grilled cheese, etc.). My husband and I were starving after a park visit and wanted to get something quick but didn't want to go to DT Disney. We visited the Craftsman Grill, sharing a burger and some "sticky wings." The burger was good, your typical burger, but pretty messy and the bottom bun was barely holding on. The wings were accurately described, sticky with an Asian flavored glaze. In the end, the food is perfectly described and it hit the spot. It was what we needed for a good price, and very conveniently located near us. Go here for quick, convenient, and good, but would only recommend if you were staying here at this hotel.

This is a hidden gem! On a hot day this a real treat with the cool air as well. But upon arrival you think you are lost but you aren't... it's a grab and go but with super nice seating. There is also alcohol as well for parents who need the extra boost haha. The array of offerings start with desserts then grab and go options of sandwiches and salads then a coke fountain machine with the pick what you want option. Then there is a cooler with the Alcohol. Once we found some great priced drinks. Then you come to the counter where you can order the hotdog of the month. November was chicken mole on a hotdog... unconventional but some found it delicious. The menu ranges from quesadillas to ceviche to wings to pizza and let's not forget the AMAZING NACHOS! They are a huge portion and can easily feed 3 maybe 4 people. You have your choice of meet and it's really good. I ordered a pizza, a royal cookie, and it was delicious. I shared my pizza and our friends got the nachos and wings there were 4 of us and we didn't even finish it. I highly recommend it next time you make it to DOWNTOWN DISNEY or DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE

Carnitas Quesadilla filled with corn and mayonnaise. No meat. No cheese but plenty of salsa to drown the mistake.

GCH Craftsman Grill is typically a go to standard when at the Disney Resorts. Located in the Grand Californian Hotel, it's a nice quiet getaway from the bustling grounds at either DowntownDisney or California Adventure park with relatively reasonable prices and consistently good food. The traditional hotdog of the month for November had chicken mole with red pickled onions. It was okay but did not have the complex flavor one would expect even from a jarred mole from the store. Clam chowder was flavorless nor did it have a hint of clams or clam juice. The Carnitas Quesadilla looked impressive but there was barely had minuscule threads of meat or cheese. A bit disappointing to have carnitas and queso missing from a Carnitas Quesadilla. The tortilla was filled with corn relish and mayonnaise. I've had much better experiences before but this must have been a bad evening. It was a bit cold and I got a hot cocoa that tasted and looked like dirty water. It would seem like a bad attempt to cut corners and save money. I hope it was just a fluke

This is one of my favorite places to grab a meal at the Disneyland Resort. It's very underrated in my opinion. I love the outdoor dining overlooking the pool at the Grand Californian and they have live music on certain nights. We have always had good service and good food there. They have slimmed down their menu and some of my absolute favorite dishes have left but I still always get something good there. Magic Key and DVC discount are also accepted!

Nice getaway from the crowds. This quick service location is convenient and had no line at all when I arrived around 1pm. Variety of menu options, plenty of seating both inside and out. There's a Coke freestyle machine, condiments, napkins, utensils all laid out neatly for you to grab what you need. I ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed it. Portions were generous. It came with ketchup and some sort of mayonnaise sauce for the fish. They had packets of malt vinegar which I preferred with my fish. My friend ordered the poke bowl with salmon and enjoyed it too.

Magic key discount and empty when we dined. Very nice in the summer months to eat somewhere with really cold AC and good food. Will come back again

It comes with an entire 1 oz container of caviar with crumb fresh, chicken nuggets with crown fresh smoked trout caviar and chives, spicy ahi tuna wonton chip, mini lobster rolls, kettle chips, shrimp cocktail shooters, wagyu sliders, and chicken Caesar salad skewers. Tea was really disappointing. Can you call it a tea experience when they use tea bags my loose leaf with a lack of a tea selection and have to share a tea pot with 3 people? This was a really big let down. It's not your traditional tea. Sandwiches were fine. I enjoyed a couple of them. The biscuit was good. They also didn't have scones and clotted cream. In my opinion not a true tea experience. Desserts were not good. The attempt made for the ube and pandan were more of a trend following technique rather than a true love in creating something delicious. It was a disappointment. The experience wasn't terrible it was just okay. Stick to a proper tea place is you are looking for a proper tea experience. If you want just cute pictures and just a great ambiance then you'll be fine coming here. I was between giving 2 and 3 stars for this place. I can't deny this was a cute place. $45 a setting... I didn't realize I was at the wrong place until I looked at the menu. The two spots are right next to each other, have similar aesthetics, and are easy to mix up. Since I was already there (and starving), I decided to stay. The spooky decor is totally my vibe, so I was happy to give it a shot. The food was decent not bad by any means, but it didn't have that wow factor. I've definitely had better steaks and mac & cheese, but everything was cooked fine and tasted good. The drinks were solid, and I liked the cocktail selection. What really impressed me was the happy hour. BOGO drinks plus two free sides with the steak is a pretty great deal these days. The steak was a little pricey for the quality, but honestly, what isn't expensive anymore.... Service was good. My waitress was attentive, though to be fair I was the only customer there at the time. My only real complaint is that the place felt a little quiet. With the spooky theme, some music would really help set the mood and elevate the atmosphere. Overall, this ended up being a pleasant surprise. I'd recommend it for food and drinks, and I personally enjoyed it much more than Villains Brewery (you can read my review on that one... no bueno). Not sure if the two businesses are connected, but I had a good experience at one and a bad experience at the other. ‍

I used to work here years ago so I know how much care goes into the food & drinks. The Puesto Perfect Margarita is still my favorite margarita I've ever had. Everything is made fresh & you can absolutely taste the difference. I always order mine with a sugar rim. It's consistently refreshing, balanced & incredibly smooth. We stopped by on a Monday around 4:30 p.m. just before happy hour ended. It was nice & relaxed when we arrived. It only started getting a little busier as we were leaving. We took advantage of happy hour & ordered a few favorites. The potato taquitos have been one of my go-to menu items for years & are just as delicious as I remembered. Crispy on the outside, flavorful inside & served over a generous bed of fresh guacamole that makes every bite even better. We also tried one of the newer happy hour items the short rib mini burrito served with a green sauce. Both my husband & I really enjoyed it. The short rib was tender & the sauce added the perfect amount of brightness. I was happily snacking on the chips with the molcajete salsa. It's one of my favorite restaurant salsas. I also love the chips with Puesto Perfect guacamole. It makes it hard to stop eating. Since it was my birthday I treated myself to a Tropical Candy Shot. If you like bold flavors definitely order one. It reminded me of a Mexican street candy in shot form with a Tajín rim & a pineapple garnish. It was festive, flavorful & the perfect birthday treat. The sweetest surprise of the evening was the complimentary birthday dessert. A slice of pistachio tres leches cake. I love tres leches but I've never had a pistachio version before. It was incredibly moist & rich without being too heavy. The pistachios added the perfect crunch & nutty flavor. It was one of the highlights of the meal. One small detail I always appreciate is that they bring a pitcher of water to the table. This makes it easy to refill your glass throughout the meal without waiting. It's a thoughtful touch that makes the dining experience feel more comfortable. I'm so glad we came back after not visiting for quite a while. I love the consistently amazing margaritas, delicious happy hour menu, & warm hospitality. The thoughtful birthday surprise made it even better. It was a wonderful way to celebrate.
