They know your address and they know how to use it. After they refused to respond to my requests to repair the holes they created on the seams between the doorframe and door THEY installed and sending me a door that was not the color they promised, I showed up at their showroom. When they asked why I was there I told them why. The salesperson was upset because his current victims/customers were there and overheard. He showed up at my house to do his best to embarrass me. From my driveway, he started to yell at me that I cost him business. This time I have a ring doorbell to catch his unprofessional possibly steroid induced behavior. He cost himself business by being a liar. The owner came by my house after this fiasco and offered me paint so I could paint my door the BLACK color that I initially ordered. He had the gall to say that the espresso/black color went better with my house anyway. My house was under renovation so he proved my point-I'm not trying to match the current color. I'm matching what it will be. Lastly, the fancy keypad doorknob they sold me was not installed correctly because the door would not close!!! They came back to fix it to loosen the screws to accommodate the misalignment. I wasted over $10000 on this poor excuse of a business. RUN. It is not worth it to do business with this company. They also need promised satisfaction guaranteed but they don't mean the customer-they are only concerned with themselves. THEY ARE A SCAM. read more

I honestly cannot believe what just happened to me with this company. Have a broken, crank-style window due to my son's lacrosse ball. Called and spoke to a woman who I didn't think really understood my needs, but we work out that I'll email her pics of the window so we can assess what I need. I sent her two pic to which she replies, "Sure we can fix that probably in the same day. You need to bring the window to our shop in Bay Shore". I explicitly tell her I cannot do that myself and ask if they have a recommendation of someone I can call to do the work (because surely this can't be the first customer request for a handyman type person).... Instead of sending recommendations for someone who could remove the window with broken glass, she sends me (wait for it) A SIX MINUTE YOUTUBE VIDEO DETAILING HOW I CAN REMOVE THE WINDOW. Um what?! Absolutely terrible experience with this company!! I purchased a custom door for almost $8,000.00 back in April. I waited 2 1/2 months for the door to be made, which is not an issue, but when I received the door there were several defects in the glass. Solon came to my house to review the defects and was extremely made that the glass manufacturer and his workers missed this, as it was very visible. He agreed it was defected and the glass would be replaced in about 6-7 weeks. Fast forward to waiting 5 months, I had to chase them down to find out where the glass was. After multiple attempts to contact them, I was advised the glass was on its way and would be 2-3 days. Almost 2 weeks later still no update...I had to follow up again! When the replacement glass was installed, it was worse than the first time AND it was the wrong glass! They provided the wrong color glass and wrong color grill. The grill was crooked, the one panel was installed upside down, and there was dust trapped inside the glass panels (which is covered under warranty). Not only was the glass an issue, but during the swap, the workers damaged the actual door leaving large dents and chips where they were slamming the glass into place with a large brick like object. They also confirmed while here that they did not inspect the glass and could not confirm the glass was free of defects. I immediately called and spoke to Helen who asked me to send images and a recap which I did...no response! I followed up...still no response. Weeks went by where my emails were not being responded to and my calls were being ignored. When I finally did get in touch with someone, Solon magically was never around. He was always out of the office or with another customer. When I would have a friend or family member call shortly before or after, he was available. I was hung up on repeatedly, or advised I would be called back and never was. I spoke to Susie who advised she had not heard of these issues and my job was marked completed and closed out in the system. Solon refused to speak to me time and time again so I had no choice but to file a BBB complaint. At first they did not respond until I sent am email saying I was going to take legal action. They now are trying to back track saying that the doors are handmade and defects are unavoidable and will be in every door ...where is the disclaimer? Why is this information not provided to the customer BEFORE taking their money and signing a contract? This is also covered in the warranty to be FREE of defects and dust. They are unwilling to abide by their warranty. They wouldn't even have someone come to my house to look at the new glass defects. Just the lack of respect of speaking to me, coming to see the new damaged glass, and willing to work with me as a paying customer is horrific!! Based on other reviews, it seems the ignoring, not responding, avoiding the issues are not outside the norm for them. I called Royal and asked for a quote for an entry front door made of fiberglass with glass panels and two sidelights. George sent me a quote. Of course, I did my homework and sought estimates from other companies. The quotes I received from three other companies ranged from $3,000. to $4,200. George's quote was astronomical compared to the other quotes I received. His quote was not even definitive. He said, somewhere between $14,000 and $16,000. George sent me a follow up email asking if I received his quote. I did and I replied back to him with the following email... "Yes George. I did receive your quote but in one word it is ludicrous! It is so over priced it is to the point of absurdity. Thanks but no thanks!" George then replied with this email... "I appreciate the fact that you took the time to respond and let me know that you did get my message. I honestly would have felt worst if you had ignored me, after spending some of my valuable time responding to your inquiry about a door you were interested to get for your home. As for your specific comments, I always say that everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it is well informed or lacking specific knowledge about the subject matter. The fact that you felt the need to characterize our quotation both ludicrous and absurd is a reflection of you rather than the actual quote. I do understand though how a person, that had the intention buying a Chevy Spark car would feel, after they call the dealer to get a quote and they are quoted for a Chevy Corvette. I am afraid we do not make Chevy Sparks" I for one, would not even consider doing business with this company if this is how they respond. I shudder to think how they would react if something went wrong with the job and the customer complained!!!! George, if you're reading this, I have two Range Rovers but what is wrong with a Chevy Spark? Many people drive them and that's fine with me! I stop by the Show Room on 5th Ave in Bay Shore with my Husband and the, "Owner/Manager" quote us a price of $86,000.00 for 1 front door,17 windows, 1 sliding door and its install (break wall and frame) plus Siding on the House. We received 2 quotes for the same thing for less than half the price. An attempt to rip us off. We asked for an email with the itemized list of pricing but it was not given to us or emailed. We have used this company to replace our front door and our slider in the back. The quality of the product is amazing. Once installing both, our house has been so much quieter and warmer. I'm sitting here in my den on a freezing, windy January morning amazed by the difference. They also use the best installers. While installing both, issues came up that would have been a problem with others, but not for them. The completely repaired and made everything right for no additional costs. Chris Kaimis worked with me and my wife and took us through the showroom and even factory floor to show us everything that would be going into our brand new door. I bought a house that had all Royal Wndows. The lift handle on every single double hung window has broken off due to the material. I called Royal Windows about 3 weeks ago because 2 of the double hung windows won't lock. Instead of sending a serviceman out I was asked to take pictures of the windows and send it to them. How in the world they plan on diagnosing the problem without physically seeing the windows is beyond me. But, I sent the pictures anyway. Someone from the office called and said the windows would be put in for "approval". Everytime I call to follow up I'm given the run around. The guy that does the "approval" is not in. She's going to email him and tell him to look at it right away. It's been 3 weeks!! Either fix your cheaply made vinyl windows or tell me to just get new ones. I tried to do the right thing and support a local business. Needless to say instead of fixing or replacing 2 windows, I called in a major window manufacture to replace every single one of Royal's windows. read more
