Had a great experience with Ralph Thomas the sales representative. From start to finish he was informative and understanding of what I wanted for my home. The measurements where taken by his team and when we talked about the details it was a breeze, and there input was what I felt honest and the best for me not just up charges. They even talked me out of things that aren't needed for my location like triple pane glass and the black trim does fade over time. I did order in fall, and the windows as promised ready in the 6-8 week time frame. We were in a deep freeze at that time. I didn't want to do the install until nicer weather. At this time the windows were installed. All 18 casements, bay window and sliding glass door. I couldn't be happier with the 2 day install for windows and flashing that they replaced throughout the outside of the house. The price was extremely reasonable for the amount of windows and work that was done, and lower then all the competition that had different sales pitches but I got windows for what I wanted not what was pushed to sell! Wonderful from beginning to end. The salesman listened to our concerns. We need to replace an oversized bay window. Not replacement windows but new construction. Two previous salespeople had their own agenda. Took a tour of the warehouse where the windows are made. Awesome local business with tons of skilled workers. The window was made to order. Exactly what I wanted Installation day came and it was done in a thorough thoughtful way. Having this 60 x 133 hole on a frigid day could have been a disaster. I had gotten many quotes and, although this was not the least expensive, they were able to provide and deliver a quality product within a couple of weeks. I ordered 10 windows but when they arrived I was disappointed as, even though they used the existing openings of my original windows, the area of the new windows is so much less than my original wooden windows. Lots of plastic molding surrounds them so keep that in mind. The installers were professional and courteous. Cleaned up everything. Unfortunately, I am unable to fit my air conditioners into the new windows as they are too small now. All in all, a good experience but wish I had known the windows would be so much smaller. read more

Tri-state installed 3 windows for us. Two up/down sliders and one bay window. The sliders are an easy install that anyone with basic carpentry knowledge can do. The bay is a more complex install. The sliders work well. At some point after installation I noticed the bay window sagging in the middle. I called the salesman we dealt with who referred me to the service department. It took three weeks to get a service person to come out to check the window. When he did come, he told me the window had not been installed correctly. That was a surprise, we paid $5,400 for it and they didn't install it correctly. It took another few days to get the appointment for the repair. They gave me an install date a few weeks out. On the day the repair was scheduled, I took a day off work. I am self employed so a day off means no pay. The morning the repair was scheduled they called me just after 9am to say the parts were not in stock and they cancelled. Why no one checks to see if they have the parts prior to the install day makes no sense. I am in the building trades and would never wait until the morning of a job to see if I had the parts. Poor management. Maybe they would like to pay me for the day I lost? The next day they got in touch with me to reschedule. They said the parts would take 2 to 2.5 weeks to come in. They scheduled the repair for 2 weeks later. That concerned me since 2 weeks is sooner than the possible 2.5 weeks they estimated for the parts to arrive. They were supposed to come today, Wednesday 1/25. I decided to call them this past Monday, 1/23 to check that the parts were in stock. The person I spoke to couldn't figure out if the parts were in. She told me she would get back to me. When she finally did she said the service tech had the parts but would not be coming since it was possibly going to rain. At that point she said she would get back to me the next day once the service tech determined what day he could come. The next day was yesterday and I have not heard from them. When I looked at the window with the tech I had to point out some details to him. My impression was that he hadn't noticed the same details. I can't fault someone for not seeing every detail, it happens. But that, coupled with the poor installation, lack of attention to scheduling gives me pause. I will install the brackets myself. I will never use Tri-State Window Factory again. read more

We replaced all of our windows, (except basement), and two of our doors. WOW - What a difference it makes. While I was pretty confident about the quality of the windows, I was concerned about the installations - BUT - Tri-State did a fabulous job. No leaks, no drafts... Perfect... Additionally, we had to make two of the windows smaller to accommodate a kitchen remodel - and Tristate perfectly matched the siding color, so you would never know that these were just added. (Even looking close up - you could not see any difference). I would recommend Tri-State unconditionally - Great job, and they put client satisfaction above all else! read more

Tri-State is great. We wanted to replace all of the windows and two patio doors in our home, the owner's son Andreas came for the consult and quote. He was knowledgeable and efficient, checked out what we had and wrote up a very reasonable quote. Done in 45 minutes, didn't try to waste my time or give me an astronomical price like other companies did. Installation day was also efficient. A crew of two came at 8:30 am - the time window they gave me was 8 - 10 am. They worked right thru lunch and replaced two patio doors and 7 double hung windows, finished before 5 pm. Cleaned up all of the debris. They accidentally broke one of the glass panes, a call to Tri-state and they came back to replace it two days later. Our house is now much warmer and quieter. This review is overdue. I reached out to 3 separate companies, Tri State being one of them to get quotes, etc. on replacing an old casement window in our kitchen. I spoke to Andrew who not only was very knowledgeable, but also professional and personable. When I called back a week or more later with more questions, he remembered my window and even quoted the measurements! In the end I chose TriState based on reviews, and my experience thus far on the phone with Andrew. They sent out the measurer who was very efficient, and once again, personable. I know it was only one window, however the experience I had with the other companies was not outstanding like what I was getting from TriState thus far. I was given an estimate for how long it would take to install the window, and it came in even sooner than their timeline. When it was time to install, I was called and given an appointment which I ended up having to reschedule, and TriState was very accomodating. The install crew were professional, nice and conscious of treating my kitchen like it was theirs! They worked efficiently and cleaned everything up nicely after they finished. The window looks great, and we have had no problems whatsoever with it. While TriState was not the cheapest, the were not the most expensive either. I am so glad we chose TriState and HIGHLY recommend this company. read more

Overall a very positive experiance with Tri-State WIndows. The vinyl windows are well made. Tight fit opening and closing the windows. Positive engagement with the locks. The installation went pretty smooth. The stand alone double hungs and a kitchen slider were no problem. The only issue I am not happy about is the half round install in my living room. I didn't notice until after the old window was out of the frame was the installers were using interior materials on the exterior of the house. They told me that Tri-State did not have a proper installation kit for the half round. They did a real messy job with the install. From the street it looks fine. But up close it's not a professional job. They used caulking to fill gaps that were to big because the materials they used to finish the install did not match the roundness of the window. You get a lifetime warranty, so I guess we'kk see how it holds up. I would recommend if you have a half round window you're replacing is to find a different installer. Just my opinion. Fred L. I ordered a bay window in June. Just 1 bay window. They said it would take 8-10 weeks from order to install. They took a 50% deposit. Its been over 22 weeks now and they still haven't delivered. Over 5 months for one bay window - they still can't even give me a delivery date. They make the worst excuses - and now they aren't even returning calls anymore. I feel like they stole my money, and I am now worried that I'll have to take them to small claims court to get reimbursed. An absolute nightmare. And now I have to start the process over with a different window company. TRI STATE WINDOWS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL CONTRACTOR I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. ABSOLUTE WORST! At that time, I was very happy with my experience with John, the owner, and Andreas, the salesman. Little did I know that ten years later they would stand behind their product. Had windows installed from tri state about 20 years ago. They suck. The first time they came to install the people were sloppy. Scews were all over the place. My dad's car had a screw in the tire. The windows were leaking air. Called the company the people came back to work on them and clean up. Complained again this time a different crew came out and were wondering why so much air was coming in. They stuffed insulation and chalked Was not happy with the windows and was turned off by their customer service. Years later thanks to stimulus money windows were redone. While redoing I found out that the installers failed to fill the area where the counter weights were, with insulation. The people that were installing the windows could not believe it. If I could I would give them 0 stars or negative stars. read more

The technicians arrived right on time and were most congenial and did a fine job. We only needed to order one window for a bathroom remodel. Stopped in one afternoon, and Bryan was very helpful and suggested a window we bought on the spot. There was a miscommunication between us, probably our fault and we needed a new build window but bought a replacement style instead. When we contacted the warehouse to speak about our options, we were told to bring the window back and they'd see what could be done. A couple of days late, the flashing had been added and the window was ready to pick up. We hired Tri-State to install new windows for us in our new home in Jersey. The rep that did our estimate was very nice, informative and responsive. He came with samples and had a lot of good info for us. They had good prices to redo an entire house, including installing a new bay window. The quality of the work was very good, though we did notice some extra debris like siding and nails in the yard and roof after the installation. We needed some touch ups after the install and they came back the next day which happened to be a Sunday. Awesome. The windows are great and have made a huge impact on our home both inside and out. After doing a great deal of research and getting multiple quotes, I decided on Tri State. I have about 9 windows I'd like replaced, and my salesman Paul K. spent 3 hours on our initial meeting at my home and gave me quotes for all, although I ended up only doing 4 windows (1 bay and 2 large casements being enlargements that required major construction) at this time for budget reasons. Never felt any pressure ever, and Paul was super phenomenal answering and listening to EVERY question and concern I had along the way, from Low-e coatings and possible effects on visible transmissivity (and hence on plant growth - I'm an avid windowsill orchid grower), to what types of windows would suit my preferences for maximum light and functionality, to possible customization of the glass panels themselves (since they make their own windows, they can basically do whatever the customer wishes). Going to their showroom was the next step for me, and it was then I made my decision, as seeing their products and Paul's demonstration of what low-e coatings can do (using a hot lamp), helped put my mind at ease I was making the right decision. Even though I had some changes to my contract thereafter (went with casements instead of sliders; changed the size of the Bay window), Paul ensured the changes were properly entered and that it would be no problem, and never made me feel like it was any hassle at all. My windows were ready and an install date was provided within 4 weeks (note: this was in early spring). They told me they would send TWO crews instead of just one, so that my job would be done in a single day. The technicians were courteous, professional and EXTREMELY neat. I was having walls knocked out and headers installed, so was expecting a major mess, but I saw how they changed their drop cloths many times during the day, to minimize the debris in my house making a mess. Overall job was great, I can see these techs were highly experienced. The first two colors of the shutters I ordered were discontinued, but Paul was a great help even in giving me suggestions on picking out a new color, even saying how he had seen a house with a similar siding color to mine, with the color I was leaning towards, and noting how it looked. The tips, pointers, data points, ideas and suggestions from Paul on every aspect of my project were invaluable. This is absolutely the BEST customer service I have ever had with any company I have done business with on a major project, in the many years I have owned my home. And the windows? While I will personally not be able to fully experience their energy efficiency until the winter comes, thus far I am very pleased with their construction and their quality is clearly apparent. Screens on the casements are so easy to remove, windows crank out sturdily, and their sliders are a joy to open and close. The bay window has enormously improved enjoyment of my living room. By way of point of comparison, I do have some Simonton windows I had previously installed when I moved in (a Simonton bay window, sliders and casements) but I now prefer Tri State's windows. Particularly: Tri State's bay window lets in much more light (the frame of my Simonton bay is very wide & 'clunky' throughout, blocking alot of light); and the slider by Tri State is easier to operate (stays in its track no matter where you push it, whereas my Simonton sliders 'jump' their tracks if you don't push it a certain way). First, these are quality windows and patio doors. They are much better than the ones you find at Home Depot or Lowe's. My main problem was with the sales rep whom came to my house to do an estimate. He gave me a price and was a little pushy. I went to the factory in deer park and like the windows, so I went with the sale. The same sales rep came to my house and told me the same triple pane window and patio door was going to be $500 more than what he quoted me a month ago. He was pushy again and insisted that I shouldn't have waited so long to do the deal. The more he talked the more I got annoyed. However, we he realized I wasn't going to accept the deal for a penny more, his temperament changed. Reluctantly, I signed the contract for the price he originally quoted me. However, their dates for installation weren't for several weeks. I was finally able to have someone come and measure my window and patio door. He showed up and was able to give me an install date the next week. They came and installed the window and door. They did a great job. However they brought the wrong window. Two weeks later they replaced the window with the correct one. Overall, I'm happy with the project and the customer service provided by everyone but the sales rep. I would use them again. read more

I left a 5-star two years ago after Tri-State completed the installation of a replacement bow window in the front of my house. Here it is two years later and I decided it was time to replace the bay window in the back of my house and my sliding door to the deck. Without hesitation I drove to their show room to see about the project. I was immediately recognized by Andreas, even though it had been two years. I told him about the work and he came to my place a few days later and we signed the paperwork. Everything was installed perfectly and they did a fantastic job. The new window and sliding door are just amazing. They did such a great job again that I just went back to their showroom and am having the rest of my windows replaced by Tri-State. The quality of their work, their superior product, their integrity and honesty is second to none. You are always treated right by them. I still remember the prices other companies told me two years ago just to handle my bow window. It is sickening. One of those companies recently approached me and tried to stir up business. They told me they are a new company and that they have become more competitive. I told them that is great, but there is absolute nothing they can do to earn my business. We got new windows throughout our whole house in 2013. After meeting with a number of companies we decided to go with Tri State because of the quality, fair pricing and lifetime warranty. To be honest I was a bit leery about the warranty because it sounded too good to be true. However, a few weeks ago I called to schedule a repair on the sliding glass door handle, which some of the paint had chipped off of and to replace the screen in the sliding door which my dogs ran through. :) The customer service was excellent and scheduling was easy. I purchased my windows in 2003 and I couldn't be more pleased. The windows are not drafty and in the coldest temperatures my cactuses on my window sill do well. It is 7 degrees out and my house is toasty warm. The sound proofing they provide is incredible too. Don't hesitate to purchase their windows. When I had a problem they come fix your issue and done. For windows that are 15 years old they look as good and perform as well as when I first got them. Buy with confidence. You'll be glad you did.
