I've been here a dozen times. You know how they say "the line is long, but it moves fast."? Well, that is not this place. They are pretty unorganized. In my latest visit, which is par for the course, it took 15 minutes to get a few bagels with cream cheese. They even took my order within 20 seconds of arrival, and the food came out of the kitchen within about 3 or so minutes. The rest of the time was spent waiting to pay. The staff was all very friendly, but running around without any system that I could see. The good news is that the food is really good. I wouldn't say awesome, but they would get a 4-start rating from me on the bagels. Not quite as good as Royal Bagel Bakery in Germantown, MD, but very solid quality. Note: Royal Bagel Bakery in Germantown is super efficient. Whenever I have enough time to stop, I do. I will absolutely continue to come here. I just wish they were faster. Having a single person assigned to the cashier position would be an excellent step in the right direction. Hopefully they read this review and try some things out. This place is definitely the place to go for lunch. Their quality is evenly matched with their quantity. The sandwiches are great in taste and size. Many times I would eat one half for lunch & the other as a later snack or early dinner. If you have the time and go there often as I have try a different sandwich each time. Also, don't neglect their desserts. All are also great in size. My favorite part and yet a weakness is that they would many times have free samples for many other the varieties of cookies they offer. Next thing you know you're getting a box worth. They're always busy during lunch but service is quick. I usually just grab and go. 10 out of 10 do not recommend half the stuff isn't even made in house, and they put on this façade that everything in that store is freshly made. I've bit my tongue for long enough. Do not recommend this place whatsoever. They do not make the bread that their sandwiches come on,half of their pastries on the weekends come in frozen off a truck during the week. And half the sandwiches that they come up with they get the ingredients from Walmart and can't even take credit for the barbecue sauce that they use cause it's sweet baby rays. My most recent visit here was super disappointing. I got a cherry danish instead of my usual raspberry horn and there was so much cinnamon in it. I've never in my life had a fruit danish with cinnamon, and I hate cinnamon rolls. It was also dry and stale as were both the overpriced cookies I purchased. They misplaced the ticket for my single bagel so after standing awkwardly for 20 minutes watching everyone else get their more elaborate orders I finally asked about it and they remade or found it or whatever. I don't think there ever was a ticket. I've had good experiences here but even then I think things are overpriced and that the place could be a touch more professional. The service isn't the best, the restaurant itself is tiny and awkward, and the freshness of the baked goods is hit or miss. I'll probably go again but I'm sticking to what I know and I'm done trying with the dry cookies that sit by register. read more

Delicious sandwiches made fresh to order. Added bonus a decadent bakery counter. If you're going for lunch be prepared to wait. The line goes out the door! On my visit they were short handed so the counter girl taking orders put out some cookies to ease the discomfort of waiting. I had one of their newest sandwiches the panini, which is turkey, mozzarella, spinach, tomato and balsamic. The sandwich was fine, but the description said bruschetta and it was just a couple tomato slices. Also got an Oreo cupcake that was a tiny bit dry, but enjoyable since the frosting wasn't sickly sweet. Had my hotel not offered complimentary breakfast I'd have definitely check them out for a breakfast sandwich. read more

Every time I go here the employees are very nice, polite and are always hard working. The food and coffee is always really good! I get a vanilla iced latte and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich! Royalicious is a great little gem in Charles Town. We go for a bagel in the mornings a few times a month. All the bagels have been delicious. When ordering cream cheese, the amount per bagel seems to vary with who is prepping them. Sometimes it's tons and sometimes a small skim. Consistency would make me stop more often for one. It has been a great spot for a cookie platter or a small desert sampler for a dinner party. Their French loafs on the weekend are delicious. Every time I go I try something new. The only thing I haven't been a huge fan of are the lunch time sandwiches. They aren't bad, but just leave something to be desired. My wife and I are in town from Florida for a family reunion of sorts and decided to stop in here yesterday for breakfast. THANK GOD we did! The bagels are incredibly delicious, the coffee is fresh, the pastries are absurdly good and the staff are super friendly, welcoming and absolutely adorable. It was so dang great we decided to stop in again today to pick up breakfast as well as desserts for our family reunion dinner tonight (reactions are pending...though I'm confident everything we got will be amazing). So Delicious! My cousin and I walked right in and ordered our sandwiches. Not seconds after we paid, a swarm of patrons came in for lunch. We were thanking our lucky stars we came in when we did. I ordered the Reuben, it was so huge! I was warm and there was so much sauce! I love it when a sandwich is smothered in delicious flavor. This was it. I couldn't even eat it all. I got some pastries to go also. I got the lemon biscotti to take home to my dad. An apple turn over and cheese danish for my mema and grandaddy.
