Visiting the town for a few days and brunch is always fun to check out. Country cafe is an adorable spot with friendly staff, spacious seating inside and out. There's no private parking but plenty right out front. I had the special bowl with country gravy... my only regret? Is not ordering another bowl togo! Holy crap it was delicious!! I'm not big on gravy but this place? You could taste the love in every freaken bite! Pancakes were fluffy, omelette nice and cheesy, ham and bacon had that nice crunch. Classic brunch spot! I always start off with parking. You may want to find a street parking nearby, there should be plenty of street parking around. The service was ok. The waitress recommended their special breakfast, the Eddie Bowl. The Eddie bowl was probably the best on their non menu. It has gravy all over sausage, egg, potatoes, and onion. It was very tasty. The meal was served within timely manner but the food presentation was not impressive at all. Both of my peers did not even finish their food. The outdoor seatings were limited and there window seats with the view of the cemetery, which it was interesting. The check out process was speedy. The breakfast food is solid good straight forward way to start one's day. With that stated: Get there fairly early as the closer they get to closing time which is early it gets crowded. The service is efficient and friendly. A few of the servers where the T-shirts that state: "We work harder than ugly strippers" (which are also available for sale). I do NOT understand the "General Store" aspect of this establishment due to the fact that the T-shirts are apparently the only thing that they sell besides food. Cute little diner with amazing food and excellent service. We had omelets and waffles and oh my they were sooooo good! The waffles are small but they give you two and it's an ample serving. They taste almost more like dessert than breakfast and I am totally on board for it! Crispy on the outside and warm soft goodness inside. The omelette was so fresh and full of flavor! If I lived closer I would become a regular for sure! The place is on the small side and was full when we arrived but we were seated pretty quickly. The service is friendly and on it! Super cute restaurant in Harper's Ferry with free street parking and indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to eat inside where there were several available tables (because it was gorgeous outside so no outside tables were available). There is a counter top with some fantastic looking baked goodies,, but we didn't even make it to those because we filled up on Omelets! I had one filled with veggies, and my man had a meat Omelet . Yuck!!! The smell of grease was overpowering. The menu was basic greasy breakfast food. I did not stay - it did not seem clean.

Came in today and were seated right away. Staff was super friendly and sweet. Unfortunately our little one was having BM issues so we couldn't stay but we did get the sticky buns to go. A great restaurant to stop by when in Harpers Ferry. It's very deceiving from the outside, it doesn't look like much. Though inside it's beautifully decorated and very modern. They have a good amount of tables but definitely fill up quickly. My boyfriend and I got there just in time, after we sat down it quickly got busier and they already had a wait. We sat down and ordered right away. I'm not sure why but the chicken and waffles sounded enticing to me. The chicken tenders were delicious and the waffles are something special. They're sugar crusted so you really don't need much syrup at all - if any. I mean, if you're going all out obviously go for it but be warned, it's delicious on its own. My boyfriend got the French toast and it was great too. Bacon was perfectly cooked and the home fries were tasty. They have a great menu in my opinion - something for everyone. read more

The Country Cafe is located in historic Harpers Ferry WV. Today's meal, the Eddie bowl was incredible. The quality of the food here phenomenal. There's plenty of parking. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The meals came out hot after a short wait. I always try whatever breakfast bowl a restaurant has wherever we eat and I can safely say that their version called the Eddie bowl is by far the best. I read on of the previous reviews trying to nitpic silly things that brought up stuff like it is next to a 165 year old cemetery, what nonsense in a place known for it battles in the civil way. This is my new favorite breakfast place. Prices are reasonable for the quality food you are getting. read more

Simply don't have the kitchen capacity to handle the number of tables they seated. They were slammed with hungry patrons and have around 15 tables they were trying to service with a tiny grill. We sat down at 10:15 & ordered right away; food came out at 11:30. Sure it's Memorial Day weekend but we ordered scrambled eggs & grits. This was everyone's experience. We were pretty amazed how they kept seating more people when the wait was so long. We decided to have breakfast somewhere random that morning, and this came up in the search, so we drove here from Manassas, VA. It was to be expected that there would be some waiting to be seated on a Sunday afternoon. Food tasted like what you'd expect from a breakfast joint. The grits, on the other hand, were on fire! One of the best things I've tried in a long time. No complaints about the portions for the price listed. The only suggestion would be to organize their cooking method. As a breakfast spot, I see a lot of areas where they could improve. Waiting nearly an hour for breakfast food is not ideal. I can assure you that it isn't because for many years, I've served over 800 people daily with four cooks, and everything was hot and fresh. Here, they appeared to be cooking for each ticket individually rather than in batches of ten. And with their setup, they can do at least half of that. Again, if I have to wait nearly an hour for ham steak and eggs and grits, there is clearly room for improvement. The service was excellent, but the servers' boy shorts concerned me. Hot food and shorts don't go together. But who am I to complain if the restaurant is willing to gamble on safety? read more

Honestly my favorite part of the experience were the waitresses. They were hustling and had funny t-shirts that said things like "be patient, there are like 2 of us here".... which is totally true. Did it take awhile to get a table? yes. Did it take some time to get your food? yes. Was it delicious and reasonably priced? YES. It's a small spot. If you want to get in and out for a quick breakfast, then go to McDonalds. If you want a warm country feeling with food fresh off the griddle, then put on your comfy pants and patiently wait for that to happen. I thought it was a little weird that they wouldn't serve us a cheeseburger (which are supposed to be AMAZING) at 12:30pm because they were "still serving breakfast" but whatever- we got sausage gravy over biscuits instead and they were just as wonderful. We decided to come here for breakfast because I enjoy local cafes when it comes to enjoying the food during our trips. We were served by a nice and sweet waitress, Caitlyn. We ordered 2 over easy and French toast, with bacon. Even the coffee is great at this cafe. They have rye bread so that's what I asked for when the bread option came up but I did ask for grain bread first, but they don't have that. Rye bread is good enough. The breakfast was amazing! Really amazing! From the eggs to bacon to bread. They didn't mess around! The cafe is cute, clean and cozy. Three Cs! I'd highly recommend this cafe for breakfast in town. My husband and I were in the area and looking for a good breakfast place, and this came up on Yelp. I was a little wary - not so much about the negative reviews but about the owner's comments on all of them. Cringey. But I'm so glad we took the chance because this was the best meal we had while we were in town for the weekend. We didn't have anything fancy - western omelet for me, French toast for my husband - but it was just simple, deliciously prepared food and generous portions. That omelet was among the best I've ever eaten anywhere. I didn't try my husband's French toast, but it looked amazing. The prices were good, too. We went on a Friday morning and it wasn't too crowded, but I can imagine it fills up pretty quickly on the weekends. It's very small with probably 10-15 little tables. One of my favorite go-to's when by myself or with family. They have things even picky kids will eat (I know this personally). This place ranks in the top 3 of best burgers I have ever had (cowboy burger). It is that good, and I've had a lot of burgers from many places. Breakfasts are excellent, and the fresh donuts (when avail) are to die for. The place is family owned and operated, no-nonsense, and is a nice, country environment (nothing fancy here).
