Seating is first come first serve however I did see some tables reserved and I'd like to know how to do that for when we bring more people next time. We found spots at the firepit table. We weren't opposed to others sitting with us, none did, but the option was there. You could order from a QR code that labels your table or you could walk up to one of two bars available. Pricing was reasonable for beers and snacks. We had a great time and will be back!

While they do not serve food here, they allow you to bring it in, which was perfect for all of our appetizers and cookies - which paired so well with their Christmasy "Confection" beer. Peanut butter and coconut- wow. Get over here and try it! The bartender was very knowledgeable and willing to pour samples and answer my questions. The main entrance can be a bit difficult to find- look to the left. This was formerly an auto service shop and they made such great use of the space. There is not a ton of parking because of the shape of the building, but the cool vibes and friendly service make up for that. The seating area is the old shop area, while the former lobby is an additional area for games. Sometimes they host food trucks. I could see spending a nice Sunday afternoon on the patio when the weather is nicer!

The amount of whiskey in a pour varied greatly depending upon who served us, and it also seemed like my partner (male) always got about 25% more in his glass than I did (female). If they're low-key profiling folks and deciding how much alcohol they can handle, some of us are going to surprise them :-) The place is huge, with many seating areas and event spaces. The vibe is pretty sterile--not a lot of art on the walls, varying colors or textures, etc. Cocktails are well-balanced and well-made. We would have loved to try a few more whiskeys but several menu items were out of stock -- guess we'll have to come back again soon!

They had SO many drinks and different flavor combinations to choose from which made it hard to decide, which I loved!! While we were waiting in line, I loved that they had helpers walking around handing out cups of cookies. They were really tasty and perfect I hope they continue to do that even after opening week because it made the experience feel extra welcoming! Even though it was super busy, the line moved pretty fast because they had so many people working and keeping things organized. The guy who helped us with the menu was really nice too and tried his best to explain all the drink choices because we didn't get to look at the menu :( I was also able to meet the founder, of Swig, Nicole!! In which I was able to get a picture with her! She was so nice, and you could definitely tell by the way she carried herself that she's definitely a boss who does a great job at what she does haha. I am not on the dirty soda or flavored water trend as I hate drinking my calories, but I like to support new businesses. We tried two sodas and the dill pretzels. The drinks were somehow watery and too sugary at the same time. I am not sure of the brands of syrup they used but it left me with a headache and I had the smallest size. Issues to work on would be the lids on everything were loose and need to be fastened tighter or save a little straw room in the cups. The location is difficult so if they add a stoplight closer it may do better.

I can find unique items that you do not see at other grocers. I am wanting to eat healthier this year and this department is helping me achieve that goal. Another department that I enjoy is the, Deli and Prepared Foods. I have ordered from the prepared foods department for many of my parties. It makes life so much easier and everyone loves the appetizers. The butcher/meat department is as impressive as the produce. Also, the Dierbergs label is just as good as a name brand and it helps you save money on your total bill. If you're a drinker, the liquor department is a mini liquor store located inside a grocery store. The variety of wine and beer is huge. If you over drink and do something stupid, you can use Dierbergs florist to help get yourself out of trouble. The staff on the floor are helpful when I cannot find what I am looking for and the cashiers are friendly and move the lines quickly. Reminder: The store is in Edwardsville, so take your own bags, otherwise you'll be paying 10¢ a bag.

It summarizes their advice to businesses that have diversified so much that they've diminished the value they once provided in their most basic services. Here's why the phrase comes to mind in reference to D-Edwardsville. Years ago when it opened, it became my first-choice grocer, a moderately expensive but close-to-home alternative to specialty grocers in St. Louis. We could find nearly everything we really needed there, including gluten-free items. I was particularly happy that the fish counter offered fresh and previously frozen items that were as good as those I picked up 30 - 40 miles away. In recent months, I've been less enthused to shop at D-Edwardsville. Whereas the traffic flow of the east end used to draw attention of the shopper toward produce, deli, fish, and meat, now attention is drawn just as much toward the prominent placement of an expanded and generally high-priced wine-liquor section. The produce selection rarely seems as good as Schnuck's or Walmart. And the fish counter that I used to love is now a place I avoid, especially after some bad fish purchased during the yearend holidays. So bad that citrus juice and even alcohol rinse (with sake) could not save it. I imagine Edwardsville grocery competition is stiff these days, and D has a difficult challenge retaining market share and making a profit. I sympathize with the dilemma, but from my perspective, more alcohol or a phone app with coupons won't make much of a difference. In my opinion, flawed as it may be, I'll be muttering quietly as I roll my cart out the door, "Stick to the knitting.
