They have just about everything the big stores have, but in a more compacted, easier to find fashion. Every month they have their special buys which can end up quite the steal, like a broom and dustpan for $3 or a pair of sawhorses for $20. Another big positive is the aisle of various screws, nuts, and bolts. Unlike many store where you have to buy a big box of nuts, I was able to buy only two replacement nuts for my weedwacker. This is a great hardware store, and will continue to be the one I frequent the most.

Home Depot doesn't care about their vendors. This door was put in period. The trim was ripped out and broken, the caulking was terrible, and the fit lets flies come in. To make this short, I won't go into the problems buying and getting the door installed. But why buy a screen door if it takes two weeks to install? And if you can't install it yourself, don't go to Home Depot.

I found a gallon can of mis-tinted paint for $20 so I grabbed it. This is paint that would be thrown away if no one like me came along to purchase it. I took my order through the outdoor home and garden checkout (mulch) but the cashier at the register had to call for a manager to sell me the paint. Apparently someone created a policy that resulted in no mis-tnted paint being sold without a manager present. The cashier made her call for a manger and then strolled over to the cooler for a cold water; she knew there was no manager rushing to the checkout. After several minutes, the line behind me was growing so out of curtesy to Lowes' other customers I cashed out on everything but the paint which I took to customer service for purchase. That line was full of returns so I went to the one cashier open next to self-checkout. Once at the head of that line I joked that I was hopeful that she was allowed to sell me paint. She acknowledged she was but then immediately called for the phantom manager of mis-tinted paint. After several minutes, I gave up and walked out. Next door at Walmart I found a comperable gallon of outdoor paint for $10 and the cashier rang it up as easily as a candy bar, no manager required. Lighten up Lowes, I am trying to buy your garbage, make it easy!
