(not helpful at all) There were only 8 parking spots otherwise you have to park on the street. False advertising on the website. The pool was nice with the small beach. I found the pool staff very nice and always acknowledge us by saying hello and asked if we need anything. You could not bring food or beverages by the pool. CRAZY. We did bring our coffee and water. Dumb rule. (we are on vacation people) The restaurant next door is convenient but not the best food. If you stay here, make sure you get pool/beach view. They do offer bikes to rent. Duval street is only a few minutes walk and there is a convenience store on United St if you need anything. Make sure you check out the Alamo Bar. So fun.

Free continental breakfast, although the boiled eggs didn't taste good. The pool was small. My shower had no hot water the entire time I was there. There was a HUGE waterbug or cockroach in my room the first night. That sucker was so big, it could leap from one place to the next. It was gross, but I'm not sure how avoidable that is in Key West when chickens and iguanas cross the road like humans. Window AC units. It's an old, charming house, so don't expect the most modern of conveniences, but it's a decent place to stay right on Truman at a good price.

Our only gripe is when we arrived, we were given the wrong keys and had to walk back to the front desk (which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so hot and we weren't so anxious to get settled). There was also no iron in the room, but had an ironing board. Lastly, there wasn't anything for us to say we didn't want turndown services. We were surprised the next day when we came back and someone had been to our room. Otherwise, we'd recommend and likely stay again.

We had an apartment with a large bedroom and bath. Out back was our private deck with a great semi private beach over looking the Gulf of America. Would definitely recommend this place.

That said, I'm giving three stars because noise was a consistent issue during my stay. Rooms facing the main road pick up a steady stream of traffic noise at all hours, and the windows aren't very insulating of the noise. In addition, the pool area can get quite loud in the afternoon and evening: music, voices, and activity from guests carry into nearby units, especially those with patios overlooking the pool. Combined, the roadway and pool noise noticeably reduced the property's otherwise relaxing vibe. Not to mention it's next to the airport. Every several hours you here a jet taking off. If you're planning a stay and need quiet, ask for a room away from the road and not directly overlooking the pool (higher floors or courtyard-facing rooms may help on the quieter side).

The rest were visibly lazy. The music was absolutely terrible and way too loud into the night. Having a pool side room is HORRIBLE. We had trouble getting the room serviced. Had to ask for that to be done. Much of the room needs to be repaired. Peeling paint and broken tile. The food has become nasty and not good at all. This is advertised as an adults only place. There were ALOT of misbehaving kids here that took over the pool which is absolutely terrible. I was told havan cabana tried no kids for 6 months and lost bookings ----- well I'm here to say WE WILL NOT BE BACK. Expensive for what you get and especially what you don't get!!

Beware of bugs in every bed!…read more I'm not even a customer that typically writes reviews, especially complaints. However, if I could give zero stars I would, this was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I was a returning customer to this facility, but never again. We visited last July (same time of year) & everything was great. Upon our return we could not have had a worse experience. This hotel should be ashamed of the staff that they employ. Rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Being a tourist destination, hospitality should be the bare minimum and this place is a poor excuse. The staff hides in the back office instead of addressing the problems at hand. All employees also divert to Michael who was apparently management, but not available after multiple attempts of visiting the front desk. At our arrival there were bugs present in every bed. When I went to the office to report the bugs I was told these conditions are normal for Florida and there is nothing they could do except for send housekeeping in and "spray" the next day. I was told that infestations happen and maybe it won't happen the next day... but there was no way for them to know. I was laughed at when confirmed by staff that their cleaning and spraying wouldn't fix the problem. The staff even stated that this is a common occurrence for their property and that nothing would be done. I was offered a $45 refund for "daily amenity fee" from their management- Michael. What a joke, we got the amenity of free bugs in our bed. When housekeeping was sent in, sheets were changed, but there were multiple bugs still present. When I addressed the problem again I was dismissed by the office staff, who proceeded to leave the front desk and sit in the back office unless he saw other customers enter on the camera. I was offered no refund or offer to change rooms. Please think twice before ruining your vacation and booking with such an atrocious establishment.

(Your room is only cleaned once you leave) No maintenance on staff. Pool looked fairly well maintained. On site community washer and dryer and soap.(Free) Elevator to first floor. Rooms are located in the building behind the inn. Our room had 1 broken window that didn't close (extra loud street sweeper and rooster noise due to open window.) Another window had a rotting window sill and black mold at the junction of ceiling/wall. Door was broken, but functional. There appeared to be painted over black mold on ceiling. Shower controls were reversed and rarely had hot water. Attempted to reach hotel staff via phone and was hung up on. Any emails or text messages were answered via AI response. This property has tremendous opportunity, but is not being maintained appropriately. Anyone with weakened immune systems should steer clear. Giving a 2 star based on location alone. Very expensive for the dilapidated building.

It is a great testament to early 1900s Florida architecture. The hotel doesn't have a reception, but it does have a bar (at night) that also serves double- duty as a pastry/coffee spot in the morning. The hotel does offer free parking, but it is first-come first-serve. We came in at check-in time and almost didn't have a spot to park. Luckily, we found the only one open and claimed it. We didn't move it all weekend and luckily didn't have to, as there was plenty to do in the area.
