Another fantastic stay at Opal Key! This was another return visit for us, and once again, we…read moreabsolutely loved it. Check-in was busy when we arrived, but the staff remained friendly, patient, and accommodating. We've stayed here several times over the years, including during the renovations, so we've seen the resort through all its phases. It's wonderful to see everything almost completed, and the property looks great. Throughout every visit, the staff has always gone above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. One thing we've learned is that if you have a special request, just ask , they're happy to help whenever they can. Our two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family. We love the layout and found it incredibly comfortable. While many guests prefer the ocean-view rooms, we actually enjoy them, even with the occasional cruise ship in the harbor. Besides, you're in Key West! Take a walk and explore, you'll find gorgeous ocean views all around the island. The location truly couldn't be better. You're within walking distance of Duval Street, Mallory Square, great restaurants, shopping, and so many Key West attractions. We also had dinner at the newly decorated Lolita's Coastal Cocina, and it was absolutely delicious. A special thank you to Damir K., who has been wonderful throughout our stay. His hospitality, along with the rest of the staff, is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. Keep up the great work, Opal Key...we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Also watch out for the valet guy. I rolled down my car window to find out where I should leave me car while checking in and despite being less than 10 feet away from me, he ignored me and walked away. After I checked in and tried to get my kiddos situated in the lobby with our luggage so I could go self-park the car I finally got his attention by him calling out "hey, can you move your car?" To which I replied "As soon as I'm done doing what I'm doing. And for the record, I tried to ask you where to park and you ignored me and walked away so... sorry, not sorry?"

Our room was down a hallway off from the main building and reminded me more of a Days Inn than a resort. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious, but not on the level of a resort.

My wife and I had a very disappointing stay at Casa Marina Resort on what was suppose to be a 4 day…read moreromantic getaway stay after driving 14 hours down from NC. It started with the check in. When I checked in I was asked if self park or valet, I advised self park. I asked where to go to self park and front counter advised I was to go across street and to scan my key bracelet to access. I went there scanned key and nothing happened. I made phone call to the hotel while trying to gain access, no body would answer the phone so I had to drive back to the front, brought it to attention of valet and they said front desk keyed it wrong so I have to go back inside to get them to fix. Not a huge deal but not a great start. I go back inside and the desk insist that I asked for valet. Why would I ask where and how to access self park if I was valet?! Well we got that straightened out. Next we are advised that this resort is having renovations by receiving a paper letter telling us that amenities will be limited!!!! NO ADULT POOL. Also west wing walkways are being tore up so elevator out of service you'll have to take a few steps with catwalk outside..... I'll come back to this in a minute. I booked a "Key West View King room" so not expecting a great view or anything spectacular but this is a curio collection resort so expecting better than a regular hotel room. We get assigned a room ... it is a dungeon room tucked behind the elevator shaft. NO WINDOW at all! Only skylights. Super disappointing after hauling luggage up and down steps to get to this room with the west wing being under construction. So I go back down, show front desk what room looked like I was put in versus the room I booked on Hilton website. I was told well you booked a standard room and that's a standard. How does a hotel even have a bookable room without a window?!?! Eventually after some pressing they changed our room to the outer building with an actual window and street view. The room itself was not the cleanest with significant issues with bathroom ceiling and shower tile. No dining options were available for dinner that night, breakfast the next morning or dinner the next night. Apparently you have to reserve them weeks in advance per the 3rd party site open table. We were woken by what turned out to be a jackhammer tearing up cobblestone path in the west wing courtyard. Also both elevator was out of service and stairs were also closed due to painting. We had to travel all over resort going up and down up and down to get out. This is an ADA/ fire code nightmare!!! We tried to enjoy the day by going to the pool. By the time we got to the only pool in service the pool was packed. Literally no chairs available. Pool was crammed with kids, beach balls, pool noodles, and adults looking like a carnival cruise ship not a luxury hotel resort. The pool attendants were nice and were able to bring in some extra chairs so my wife and I could sit. Although they accommodated us the pool was not enjoyable at all. Loud music, screaming children and just an overall bad time. Could not read a book, could not relax. This sent me over the edge and we checked out the next morning, 2 days early. I let the hotel staff know why I was leaving early and why they were not earning my business any longer. The staff agreed that notice of renovations should have been sent out via email prior to arrival. This hotel and the sister property the reach will never earn my business. It is a disgrace of the Hilton brand and should be stripped of its curio title.

They had fresh water and a welcome sangria as I checked in. *They have daily coffee in the morning and cookies and iced tea in the afternoon. The only thing missing is a happy hour with wine and cheese! I spent a lot of time trying to find the right room (online). Without being there, it was hard to choose. I chose a poolside room (shared balcony). I was given room 3 and I loved it. :) There is plenty of room for two people. The bed was so comfy and the pillows were perfect. They have complimentary water (2 bottles) in your room. They have a mini fridge and options to buy snacks and liquor. They have fruit infused water next to the pool daily. You will stay hydrated. There is an honor bar next to the water; which has a few pricy options for a beer or other canned beverages. I did see plenty of people have their own drinks poolside. So, outside drinks are allowed at the pool...but no glass. They have two pools. I preferred the pool towards the back. There are lush beautiful plants all around you and you'll often see little lizards scurrying by the pool. They did not have a late checkout for my room but they were nice enough to hold my bags and have use of the pool while I waited for my friends to arrive. I would stay here again but during high season, the rooms get expensive. I loved room 3 but would love to someday stay in the cute cabin looking rooms up behind the pool. They have a covered porch, sitting room m, and a large bathroom. Overall, the service was solid. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, the bed was amazing, and the pools were a lovely respite from the crowded streets and heat of the city.
