I want to make a post and display the way April does business. As I read the reviews it appears I am not the only one. I'll start by saying she is a good groomer but her business practices and the way she treats clients is what I'm going to question. I have seen people post about her previously and she always responds with a very stern my way or the highway mentality. Here is the situation, On Saturday they charged my card $300 for no call no show. I texted them and told them that I had texted them earlier in the week to cancel. I then picked up the phone to call them. The lady that answered said, I apologize but we have 4 people and a lot of text messages so sometimes we miss them. I explained that before you just charge my card at will , maybe you should double check just in case you missed one. She said, I apologized and refunded the money so no harm thank you. I started to say except you are holding my money for the time it takes to refund it. While I was saying that she hung up the phone. I tried to call back but they didn't answer. Then I texted "Hanging up on someone is one of the rudest things you can do specially if it's a long time good paying customer. I see how you value your loyal customers". After that I got a text message saying they didn't hang up, the conversation was over and then they cancelled my remaining appointments. I called and left a message for April to give me a call. I posting the text message she sent me today. My point here is if you know you miss text messages and you know I am a reliable customer, maybe you should double check before you just charge someone's card. Also, If you read the text message here are a couple more points. 1. Yes, I have specific times I am available to have my dogs groomed. I am the customer. I was never demanding. I was just specific to the time frame. I gave her those times, we discussed appointments and she never had an issue scheduling. We always made appointments 2-3 months out at all times. She told me once that 8am wasn't going to work and moved it to 9. I didn't complain. Just adjusted. Now all of a sudden she claims I wasn't flexible to her schedule. First April never said anything about our appointment times being inconvenient for her til now. Second, again I am the customer and if those times weren't going to work for her then all she had to do was say so and I would have adjusted or found a different groomer. No, I didn't take her availability into thought and honestly I shouldn't have to. If the times I was available didn't match her schedule then all she had to do was tell me she couldn't do it. 2. Price - April and I had a conversation about the price going up. Sure you raise the price, I can be a little disappointed because it's expensive. I never rolled my eyes. Her and I had a conversation about it. I may have spoken my displeasure but I can chose to pay it or go elsewhere. The next month I came in, paid the charge, thanked her for taking care of my girls and left. No issue no confrontation. Point here is anytime I was in the business, April and I always had a pleasant conversation. At no time did I ever raise my voice, cuss, get argumentative or even get mad and now all of a sudden my business isn't good enough. Now all of a sudden I am such a bad customer she chooses not to do business with me and bring up issues that were never even issues. Well it must be nice to have such a strong business that you can just cut ties with anyone that is even slightly disappointed in something that happened. You just expect customer to shut up and deal with it either way. April, you are correct you have the right to not do business with me, just as I have the right to leave a review about the way you do business. read more

Brittney - I'm responding to your reply to my review. Umm? There were no threats, nor were we yelling. Yes - I told April she was uneducated as veterinarian. She was making a serious diagnosis that my dog had ringworm! She should be cautious when making such claims when she is NOT qualified to make such a diagnosis. Let's not exaggerate, there was only 1-other dog there - We were not placing April or the other dog in jeopardy! And besides, I would think your infection control policy in cleaning your tools would prevent cross contamination IF my dog would have had ringworm - BUT AGAIN SHE DID NOT! I'm not in your system because we were 1st time customers. There is something systematically wrong w/how you run your business in dealing with customers. My bad experience w April was not an anomaly as there are many other similar complaints. I did not raise my voice, call you or April derogatory names during our phone call. You just didn't want to hear the constructive feedback I was providing you about my experience. I also told you I had documentation from my vet visit that it was NOT ringworm. After dealing w April that day, I would never trust to have my dogs be serviced at this place you call "royalty". You two have serious issues retaliating against customers on Yelp! When you should be taking the time to evaluate what you can do to be better so that you don't continue to receive negative reviews. As a consumer and a member of this community, I feel obligated to share my bad experience with others and clearly your response does not help the image you're trying to portray. I give them a 2 stars because they're at least nice. However, I have a sheepadoodle and we've given them a handful of chances and they just don't make the cut. They have been so inconsistent and this time around it just looks like they gave my fur baby a buzz cut. Which, I'm a hairstylist and I would of much rather done it my self than pay over $100 for them to do it. We've tried over and over since they're location is convenient. But at this point I'd rather make the 20 min drive to go elsewhere. They're also very understaffed. So I would say if you have long haired baby's or one with an under coat. Look somewhere else. My 4 month old Teddy Bear Goldendoodle LOVES this groomer!! We tried taking him to a chain store (Petco, pet supply, etc.) but the groomers there couldn't even finish his face or paws because of how nervous he was. I am not a huge fan of the schnauzer hula hoop cut and Jonathan was really receptive to my desires. So I walked in around 4:30pm on 1/22/2023 to this place and was not helped at all, but I decided to wait so I can see how much the service was. 2 ladies were in the back talking and what I heard from what they were talking about was messed up. They were talking bad about previous customers saying that "all they bring is crusty ass dogs" and while doing that they were grooming a dog and yelling at the dog very fowl. I was so disgusted from what I heard and saw, meanwhile waiting to even be helped. Very unprofessional and felt very uncomfortable. How would I trust them with my dog who I love very much. Once I heard and saw everything I didn't even bother to stick around and left disturbed. I really liked this place when we first started going and was a loyal customer for months. Unfortunately, things went downhill which is super disappointing! Our dog is a mini golden doodle who has been 30 pounds since about January. The price kept going up from $80, $95 and now $110. They also added a 3% card fee to all transactions. Anyway, I questioned the price increase as I was a little confused on why the change. After questioning this, the attitude from the groomer seemed to have changed. She went on to explain all her credentials and licenses. I could understand that being the reason of an initial cost but why the sudden changes. After our latest appointment, the spa posted a photo of our dog with the wrong name. I politely called this out and was shortly after blocked by the salon and sent multiple texts. I always tipped well and made sure our dog was well-behaved at appointments. Attitude will get in the way of customer service and create a failing business.
