When the air conditioning stopped working, they told me the circuit board needed replacement. They said the part was under warranty, but I would still pay approximately $500 for the technician. I then spent nearly two months without working AC while waiting for this supposed repair. I finally called Southwest Heating & Air Conditioning for a second opinion. They came out, identified the actual problems, and restored the AC during the same visit--without replacing the circuit board NexGen said I needed. Southwest's written inspection documented several serious concerns with the original installation: * The system had been installed without an air filter. * The filter housing had been taped completely shut. * There were multiple wiring problems, including the system being wired incorrectly. * The plenum was leaking. * The ductwork was not adequately sized for the five-ton system. * A wireless sensor should have been installed on the third floor to help regulate airflow. * Additional repairs are still needed for the system to operate as it should. My advice to other homeowners: Do not assume an expensive part is the problem or wait for months without AC. Get a second opinion and ask the technician to check the filter housing, wiring, plenum, duct sizing, airflow, and sensors--especially after a new installation. I also had a similar pricing experience with NexGen's plumbing department. They quoted approximately $4,600 for work that another licensed company completed for about $860. After an incorrect diagnosis, two months without AC, poor communication, installation concerns, and extremely high pricing, I cannot recommend NexGen. I was also advised to report this matter to the California Contractors State License Board.

Considering I've replaced water lines for fridges many times I knew this was an easy job. Unfortunately, I was in the hospital delivering a baby at the time and needed someone (anyone) to do the repair for me. OneStop was the first to get to my home. At that point the price was what it was as this was an issue that needed fixing fast. The tech knew all of this info. The tech (I feel like his name was Kyle but I genuinely was in a fever dream so I cannot remember) told me he couldn't fix the issue since he didn't have the parts needed (it's like $25 from Home Depot). I told him to cut the water line just below the puncture and reattach it to the outlet (idk why I had to tell this guy what to do when this is his job). He said he would do it for $250 - complete and utter ripoff. I had no choice because my dad and mom needed to make it to the hospital as fast as possible - I said fine just do it and asked if he would warranty the work, he said NO. Lo and behold when I got home the valve below the PRV is leaking. I called OneStop back and they took no responsibility for the leak - mind you my father did turn off and on the water supply because of the fridge leak so it is possible he did it. However, he's a careful guy and he said there was no leak when he turned it on or off. There was however a pressure gauge on the spigot above the leak - indicating the last person to touch that area was the tech. He literally left his device on the spigot - maybe he was distracted... I spoke to the owner, Conrad, and let him know what happened. He said it wasn't his tech's fault - fine I'm not gunna sit here and point fingers when there isn't definitive enough evidence. I told Conrad to fix the fridge leak I had to come up with a solution (not his tech) which took the tech all of 5 min to do. I was then charged an outrageous price - Conrad didn't care and talked about how he needs to charge what he charges to run his business, costs gas to get to a home, insurance, warranty of what they do (what warranty). Okay understandable but since when is 5 min of labor $200+? Are you joking? Anyway he told me it was my choice to accept the price, but I told him I had no choice given I was in the hospital and this was urgent. I conveyed all my issues to Conrad and after all of this he agreed to come check out the valve and give an estimate. I will say OneStop is punctual and Conrad did come out after our phone call same day - one star for that makes sense. I was curious to see if Conrad would care to give me an actually decent price at all. I knew full well how much it should be and he estimated "between $900-$1500". What a joke. In between the time of our phone call to Conrad arriving I already got 2 other estimates between $250-400. As soon as he said the estimate I was done with Conrad wasting my time. Irritated and fed up, I needed to end the conversation ASAP since I left a crying baby to talk to this man. As I was turning away Conrad asked why I wrote a poor review on Google for them.... Had he not been listening when I talked to him for 15 minutes about the issues at hand? I would heavily advise anyone reading this to utilize another company as this one unfortunately doesn't seem to care about customer satisfaction or competitive pricing.
