I'm not your typical buy-her-chocolates kinda girl, but I wouldn't turn down a box of Royce! The way it melts in your mouth.. The experience was a cute one. It included 3 types of chocolate, some Fiji water, and a take-home poker thing for tastings that I'll use for charcuterie boards. We also got to learn a little about the history of Royce. Our favorite of the 3 chocolates was the matcha chocolate wafers, and we bought one with the discount! Got to share some with friends and family.

The matcha wafer- a medley of crisp and cream- perfection!

I recently visited Royce for a chocolate tasting and was delighted to learn more about the Royce brand and their delectable offerings. The store is bright, inviting and completely spotless. Their Nama chocolate is their foundational product. It is a decadent blend of chocolate mousse and fudge, so richly creamy it must be refrigerated. They give you a complimentary taste upon entering the store. I also got to taste their chocolate matcha wafer which had crisp layers between matcha cream and their coconut chocolate biscuit. All their flavors are so true and nothing feels artificially sweetened. It so refreshing and I love it! I bought a summer variety pack of their chocolates to bring home for my family to sample. I look forward to visiting regularly now that I'm familiar with their products. They are located in Washington Square Mall across from Williams Sonoma. The attendants would so friendly and wonderfully knowledgeable.

My husband and I have only received Royce chocolates as a gift, and it's one of the best gifts we've gotten. It is perfect for a special occasion or just as an indulgent treat. I was happy to see Royce at Washington Square. We've only previously tried the Nama Chocolate Au Lait (Milk Chocolate) so that is what we got during our first visit here. The Nama Chocolate has to stay refrigerated so it's packed with an ice pack. The texture and consistency is unlike chocolate that may change when it's refrigerated. Its smooth texture is soft and creamy. It melts in your mouth. It tastes like a good quality delicate truffle. During our second visit, we wanted to tried other Nama Chocolate flavors. I bought the Nama Bitter (Dark Chocolate) after sampling it in store. I also got the Nama White Chocolate. The other flavors had the same delicate and memorable texture with classic flavor profiles that you expect from a dark or white chocolate. I look forward to trying other things from Royce, which is why I signed up for their rewards program. The service has been excellent as they were eager to answer questions if it's your first time or if you are frequent customer. Royce is 5 stars for their chocolates and service.

Several different flavors of raw (refrigerated) chocolate.

It's a little expensive to have all the time but it does taste good. We tried a couple of chocolate discs types and we bought a box of the raw chocolate. I really enjoyed it.

Having enjoyed the champagne Pierre Mignon nama chocolate before, I felt it was time to go back because I needed a Mother's day gift in the absence of going out to celebrate. I forgot to take photos of the actual boxes I bought, so I attached my receipt and stock photos. My mom's favorite was the Rum. Unlike the other alcohol flavors, you could actually taste the rum. I approve this flavor! But too bad it was a seasonal only flavor! There is only other flavor in which you can taste the alcohol, and that is the whiskey flavor. This one tasted super odd to me, it was the only one I didn't like. I thought something was off with it, but apparently that's how it's supposed to taste. I was told if you like the Port Charlotte Scottish barley drink, perhaps you will like this one too. The Bitters wasn't much bitter, which is good. It actually reminds me of the Ecuador Sweet flavor. The latter has no alcohol, but the alcohol is so very faint anyway in all of them except for the 2. They raised the prices since my purchase. They also only give you points in certain increments, so 2 boxes gets you points for 2 boxes. 3 boxes gets you points only for 2 boxes again. You have to buy 4 to get the points for 4. No other rewards program does that, it's always been based on actual dollar value spent. It seems unfair. I also think they should offer more samples so people know what they're buying in advance. They only sample one pre determined flavor. The people that work here are always super friendly. Song, the district or regional manager is incredibly nice and customer service oriented!

A must try! I love coming here for the fresh chocolate, melt in your mouth. Limited flavors are to die for. Great customer service!!!

Employees are always kind and the chocolate is amazing! Perfect stop for a gift. Chill atmosphere, and they always have samples!

Love buying my Christmas gifts each year @ Royce!!! The Nama chocolate is perfect for all my family and friends!

I want to try them all! These chocolates are so amazing. Their ingredients are impeccable, sourced in Japan. A dear friend's wife is from Japan and I was treated to Japanese chocolate from him. Explaining to people that the best chocolates I have had are from Japan gets strange looks but it is true. This time I got their macadamia nuts covered in mill chocolate. They are packed in four separate packs which is perfect! Each one is soooo amazing. I love how many options you have for gifts or yourself. Self care is important - chocolate qualifies and I definitely plan to drop the $8.99 here and there for one of their chocolate bars. Watching the very sweet associate bag up the macadamia nuts was crazy amazing. I almost did not want to open it later to get to the chocolates....almost.....

I have had Royce' chocolate for years since discovering it in Japan and Las Vegas. Previously, the only way I got my hands on some was in Las Vegas and to travel home with these goodies was an operation. I had to plan my trip around so that I can grab them right before my flight since it needs to be kept cold. Now it's so easy! I got to taste 3 products that I haven't tried (because I keep sticking with what I love) and have found some new favorites. Additionally, I learned about the history of Royce' and had no idea it's been around since 1983! I ended up purchasing a couple chocolates including my newly discovered favorites too. Staff were so gracious and even beautifully gift wrapped my treats.

We got the Hokkaido chocolate tasting box and the chocolate with yuzu toffee flavor. Is beautifully wrapped up and almost to pretty to open! Because the chocolate is so fresh, it has a shorter shelf life than Hershey. Excellent service.

Order: Nama Chocolate "Bitter" & Nama Chocolate "Mild Milk" Pros: Omg this chocolate is so decadent. It's like velvet on your tongue. I thoroughly enjoy eating these pieces of chocolate as I love dark chocolate. The presentation and the packaging is top tier. The location is nice and bright and the service folk are so nice. Inside is bright, with sherbet colored green walls, lots of shelves and tables stocked with beautifully wrapped candy, gift assortments, boxes of chocolates, novelty candy, gummies, lollipop, and even candy from around the world, including a large variety of Asian candies. For those wanting just an individual piece of chocolate or wanting to create a custom purchase, the counter holds individual pieces of a variety of chocolates. They have all the usual suspects - truffles, salted chocolate caramels, chocolate with nuts, cream filled and more. It was October, so there was a section dedicated to fall colors and Halloween, with candy coming in black cat boxes, candy that resembles an eyeball, witch, ghost, and of course, candy corn. Never understood the appeal of candy corn, you either love it or avoid it, but it's definitely representative of the season. Candy here is priced high, so it's more like a treat or gift, not an everyday purchase. Personally, I think they would be more profitable if they had a broader price range so it could be the candy store you always purchase something from while at the mall.

Thing is it's hard for not to love the store because it has three of my favorite things: 1. chocolate: shelves and shelves of unique artisan chocolates made with skill and care from all over the world. 2. And salt -- am a VERY big fan of picking up local salts whenever one is traveling -- including actual blocks and blocks of Himalayan salt stacked. Not imitation but the real stuff. They even have fresh popcorn for you to taste the truffle salt with. 3. Lastly they have fresh cut flowers. It's like a florist and you can create your own bouquets. Beautiful specimens with structure and freshness. I have to say they also have bottles and bottles of bitters -- crafted bitters. King Floyd chief among them. The staff person was super helpful. I've purchased some of the Maldonado finishing salt, and it absolutely makes a difference. Never use these salts as an ingredient, it's used to sprinkle on meats, veggies, potatoes, right before serving. Awesome on chocolate cookies. They even sell small containers for salt, known as salt cellars, so you can keep your favorite salt in your purse in case your restaurant meal is lacking that little something extra. They refill for life, for the tiny ones only. I enjoy checking out this store when I'm in the area or when looking for a gift for one of my foodie friends. I'd buy more, but the prices are very high, especially the pasta and chocolate. I can't rationalize $12-15 for a chocolate bar that I'll eat in one sitting. Maybe I'm the problem, maybe one bar is supposed to last for many servings!
