After buying a Hyundai Tuscon from Kelly Honda on the Lynnway less than 3 weeks ago, Eric told us that they found an oil leak and epoxy all over the transmission cover holding it in place. Kelly Honda, of course, had "no idea how this happened." Eric and the crew are honest and knowledgeable. They aren't out to screw people, they are here to provide a valuable service to Danvers and the surrounding communities. A++++ work!

Pete's Garage came highly recommended by people on some local Facebook groups, but it's hard to…read moreunderstand why. I brought my car in to fix a few issues, but all they did was give me a fairly expensive oil change. Over the next three weeks, they continued to string me along by saying that they were developing an estimate for the repairs. The estimate started at $3800, which I agreed to, but then a different person I spoke with said that they had "forgotten" to add a repair to the estimate, and that the real estimate was almost $8000. While it seemed outrageous that the price would essentially double over one thing they "forgot", I was desperate and they came highly reviewed, so I agreed and asked when I could bring my car in. Without any hesitation and without consulting anyone, the person I spoke with said that the almost $8000 estimate wasn't the ACTUAL estimate, and that they wanted to "look at the numbers again". To be honest, it felt like they were just jacking the price up to see how much I'd pay. I was nothing but pleasant and respectful over the phone, and they had given me my car back after the oil change, so this was not a situation where they were finding new things wrong -- they didn't have my car. This place does not seem honest or reliable at all. They didn't even attempt to fix the problems with my car when I brought it in. They gave multiple escalating quotes and didn't stick to any of them. They didn't call when they said they would, or at all.

Both things are illegal to do without disclosing or having the person listed on the title there to sign it over. If he is doing this as a dealer he should be shut down as this is all highly illegal. He was gonna have me drive 3 hours to check it out without mentioning that. Thankfully I paid the 30 to pull the carfax report. Below is the conversation we had on marketplace where he first said it had a clean title, then only after I paid to have the carfax report pulled he admitted it was a NAM title and that he nor his business was listed on the title meaning he can't legally sell it. As I had already had a few annoying experiences with people not showing up when they said they would, I said OK. Surprise! He didn't show up but gave a decent excuse and said he could be there in a few days. I said OK again, and we set a time. Surprise! He pushed the time back. We set a new time, and when it came around, it wasn't him but an employee who showed up. The employee tried to pay less than we had agreed (a measly $500). Everything about this salvage auto had been clearly described and photographed in the ad; they just didn't feel like paying the agreed price, and so there was no sale, just a lot of wasted time and opportunities. His employee then made up a story for him about how the engine was bad -- completely untrue. Bottom line, I found him not to be a man of his word.

They provide the best service (customer service included) of basically any business of any kind I use. They are a family business. HONEST. They do great work. There is a tiny sitting area inside with a bunch of photos, articles etc. that look like they have been there for probably 40 years (I'm guessing 40 :) based on Kniel S's post he's been going there for 39 years! There are photos of the place from the early days. It all looks the same. I could go to other garages but I enjoy the ride to this place, the service and the nostalgia. Update 2017: Bought my mom a used vehicle as a gift last Winter. I brought it to Burnett's for a sticker and they discovered a brake light issue that would cause a sticker rejection. They went out of their way to call around and get the part needed. 2 weeks later my mom's car got side swiped (hit and run) in a parking lot. The damage was very minor but I still wanted to have it fixed for her. These guys did the work for FREE and turned it around in a day!
