This is a true mom and pop shop. Handed down from father to son. I had been disappointed with my dealership service department and got a friends recommendation to stop in here. I called to ask about a diagnostic and was told it was free to diagnose. Who does that anymore!?! I may not be a mechanic, but I am at least knowledgeable about my vehicle. After my diagnostic, Mike the mechanic and owner gave me a fair quote, talked to me like I wasn't an idiot and was super kind. I have been coming to Roy's Auto for years. The proprietor, Mike, Is one of the kindest, most honest person you'll ever meet. On a trip to Georgia my 2003 Saturn was taking on water in the front every time it rained or when I used the air conditioning. I took it to a mechanic in Georgia but he wasn't sure what the problem was. On the road trip home, my feet were right above the water thanks to a futon cover and my floor mat. My son suggested I google problems with Saturns and it mentioned a clogged hose connected to the air conditioning system. Long story short I called Roy's, and Mike told me to bring the car in. He had it repaired in 10 minutes!! That's faster than Jiffy Lube!! Problem solved. He also gave me an education on old Saturns and advised me that parts are hard to come by. Mike is very honest, very knowledgeable, and very good at explaining things. I had taken my car to get an alignment, and I was told I needed a wheel bearing, which would be $500. I got a second opinion from Mike. He jacked up my car and showed me when I came to pick it up that the wheel bearing was ok. He put my mind at ease and saved me from an expensive repair. I asked him how much he would have charged to fix it and it was half the quote from the alignment shop. His prices are very reasonable. I will always take my car to Mike at Roy's. No Frills but No Up selling! Called on Wednesday to set up a Friday oil change and "check up" since B123 lights were shining in my display. I was worried I'd be charged an arm and a leg, but they just topped everything off, changed the oil and said inspection was clear! Affordable!! Very happy with service. I didn't go for free coffee, I went for service! My 1999 Saturn needed brakes and friends recommended Roy's. I called, as a new customer, and they took me the next day. When I arrived they had a lot full of vehicles and I expected an all-day wait. They test-drove it on the highway, decided I needed fronts relined and drums turned, got it all done by 11:00 AM and charged me 'way less than I had expected to pay. They had my car for a week and half. They did not even look at it. They left it in the street and I got 3 parking tickets and they refused to pay for them. The guy is never there and the guy who works inside is rude and disrespectful. In my opinions they should not get any stars. read more
