One of the worst days of the year. My car was stuck and buried in its parking spot while a snow emergency was called. Look, if I could give more than 5 stars for Rafael and his crew, I would. I live right down the street from his shop and he has helped me at a moments notice on many occasions. My neighbor first recommended him several years ago and I have appreciated it ever since. I once went next door to Clyde's Auto for a quote on new front axle ends and was quoted MORE than DOUBLE with a much longer wait time. I would and have recommended Galeana's to many friends and family and they all love him too! Brakes, car not starting, axle ends, new starter, exhaust system... I have an older car and those are some of the things he has fixed perfectly, quickly and at a very fair cost. He runs his business in a very old school, neighborly way. Galeana's is a Mexican owned auto mechanic shop located literally next to Clydes Auto Service on 38th Street. I got frustrated with Clydes, not because of poor service or lack of inexperience, but because they charge outrageous prices for their service. One day my car broke down a block away so I decided to try Galeana's, knowing full well Clydes would have taken my pocket book to the cleaners. Instead of getting their tow truck, they got the whole family, everyone from their 5 year old to their grandpa, to push my car to their shop. They could have charged me, but they didn't. An hour later my car was running perfectly and was charged less then I had expected. I've been taking my car there ever since. Don't worry about any language barriers, they can speak both Espanol and English. read more

I first met the owner of Galeanas when the hitch fell off my food trailer. Really. I had a box with wheels and Rafael was able to tow that sucker back to his shop and then line me up with somebody to tow it back to the manufacturer. If you need a tow, I'd choose him over Dukes on Lake Street; that is my opinion. This dude is true blue, and I have taken my cars to him ever since. He and his mechanics work hard to get the job done on time, even if it means overtime. This was appreciated the week my schedule was already disrupted by the hospitalization of a family member. The price is always on target here. Today he fixed my windshield washer free of charge. In a big city, it feels like, and is, a local friendly business. While English is not Rafael's first language, I've never had a problem communicating with him. Give him a shot and I think you'll be happy you did. read more

This is the nicest towing service I've ever known. My car was broken down on Penn and Olsen Memorial, I yelped for towing service, and Galeana's came highly recommended. So I called, a very pleasant man answered the phone, and all I had to do was text my location. He arrived within 15 minutes later. After he dropped my car off, I didn't have any cash so he drove me to the nearest ATM so I could pay him. If this didn't top it all off, he hand delivered my receipt to my front door that same evening! Anyway, I highly recommend Galeana's should you need to get your vehicle somewhere. read more

Had a bit of an issue getting my card run through the machine but after that it was fantastic. They came and picked me up, dropped my car at my mechanic's garage and helped me practice Spanish all at the same time. Warm, friendly yet professional. I broke down on the interstate close to downtown Minneapolis. I'm from out of state so had no idea who to contact and thankfully randomly selected this company to help get me off the highway. They responded within 30 mins and made sure they knew exactly where I was by having me send them my location via text message. They took my car back to the shop and replaced the alternator and had me back on the road home within the hour for a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend these guys! The guy at the front desk was very helpful from fielding my call to explaining why the part was broke and needed to be replaced. Great Job! Winter, 2012. I was at a gas station filling my power steering fluid, yet again. A gallant stranger approached me, inquiring as to why I was doing something so strange. I told him my rack and pinion were broken but I couldn't afford to get it fixed. He told me to take it to Raphael at Galeana Towing & Auto. I did. It cost me HALF THE PRICE others quoted. My car has 200K miles and it's still going strong. They fixed my brakes the following year. My tie rod broke recently, they towed it for me. They fixed it as soon as I brought them the part.
