Rozi's is a wine house located inside the historic Cook Office Building in the heart of Lakewood. The wine bar is pretty popular. I visited this wine bar on multiple occasions including most recently during Lakewood Chocolate Walk. AMBIANCE: Wine market meets casual wine bar. Dainty tables between wine aisles, small bar, and enclosed patio-like are your seating options. Most guests seem to be friend groups. Vibes and dress are casual. The building houses Rozi's Wine on the lower level, and various offices on the other floors. The includes beauty salon, and medical services. If you're visiting the building for any of the service you can just easily take the elevator down to Rozi's. Cook Office Building is supposedly haunted! WINE: Rozi's has a huge variety of wine for all budgets. There is a section of under $20 wines. Then an aisle away there is Dom Perignon. They also sell various beers from all the world (on tap and in cans). You can purchase wine by the bottle or by glass. I always opt into the glass option, which usually costs $10-12. You can also try samples to see if you'll like an entire bottle or glass. New options are constantly added to the menu. I tried the new orange wine from Sicily, Italy ($11). It was okay but not a favorite. It was pretty bland to me, not bold like I'd expect. Then again I have never had orange wine so take this with a grain of salt. I haven't yet discovered any memorable wines here. SERVICE: The service is transactional. I never feel like I can engage in a conversation about wine. I wish there would be more warmth. If you're looking for wine before dining on Detroit Road or need a bottle to go, this is your place. Rozi's is wonderful. Friendly, comfortable. Great wines by the glass and beers on tap, and an incredible selection of wines and beers to take home. The crowd feels very familiar, whether you know them or not. This is definitely a chill, adult environment. Someone was reading a book on the patio and it didn't come off as sad or try-hard (you know what I mean). They have some small bites, but you can bring in your own food too. I love shopping at Rozi's. At a time when it was difficult to track down Cappelletti, I would call ahead to find out when their next shipment would be. Thus thanks to the patience and communication from staff at Rozi's, my negroni's were always complete. They have a great selection of wine at different price points. Towards the back of the store are a selection of small items to accompany a charcuterie board. They carry a selection of beers, and serve many at them at their bar. It was nice to spend one afternoon doing a tasting flight to pick the perfect six pack. They even carry hard-to-get and pricier brews, including a variety from Alaska. At first glance, Rozi's is lovely. Charming old wood floors, plenty of selection of wine and beer, and a nice, bright space. I came in specifically looking for a gift for my sister. She really likes New Zealand Sauvignon blanc, so I was shocked when all Rozi's had were California ones. I've since read an article that explains that drought in the region has really impacted the grapes, so I can't fault Rozi's for that. What I can fault them for is terrible service. Or rather, complete lack of service. As you can see from my posted photo, there was literally no one else there. The clerk completely ignored me and my friend. After having worked retail for many years, I have zero tolerance for that. I had picked up another bottle of wine to purchase for someone else and ended up putting it back. So I suck! Why? Because this is my favorite beer/wine/bar stop in a million years and I haven't gave they their much deserve props/high fives! Kevin and the other guys are great! I have enjoyed the patio in all seasons -by the way it wasn't there when I first started to visit but came along and make my visit much more pleasant. I love drinking a selected beverage while watching the cars and people go by on any given day. I have also enjoyed a few snacks from their limited menu - thank you for having something! Went to their holiday beer and wine tasting event last night and had a ball! It was $25 a ticket and included all you could drink Christmas beers and wine. There was also pizza, pretzels, and other snacks. You get a small glass, and can sample as much as you want from about 20 different beers. Now this is a cool concept. You walk into a wine store, pick any bottle you want, have the clerk open it, and enjoy it. It's different than a winery. It's a store. You walk into a store, pick what you want to drink, and instead of walking out to enjoy it at home, you have the option of sitting and enjoying the atmosphere right inside the store. I loved it. They do have a small bar area where you can have beer or certain wine poured for you. There is a sofa area that looked very comfy. We sat in the front of the store at a round table to enjoy conversation and two bottles of wine. You can't say there aren't any good options to pick from here, it is literally every wine from all over the world. Did not expect this experience to be so fun. By far the best and most unique selection of beers I've seen besides Warehouse Beverage in Mayfield! The store caters to every type of brew, including several imports. Shoppers have the option to build their own 4- or 6-packs, but beware... some of these single bottles are pricey! We found one for $12. Definitely look at the bottle prices before you buy. The store maybe called Rosie's Wine, but the store offers tons of different types of alcohol. My personal favorite was the cider selection. Usually, when I go to the store I find a couple of ciders; however, at the store they have a large selection. The other nice benefit is that the store has a build your own beer container. So you can mix and match different types of beer. This is really great if you want to either try something new or you don't know what you like. I really enjoyed mixing and trying new beer. The only thing I would note is that it is a bit difficult to find the price of the drink. The store has most of the tags written on the drink with a pen. This place has a decent selection of wine but the beer selection has a lot that close to expiration and close to no organization. I went in looking for gifts for family I was visiting out of town so I wanted to get beverages specifically from Ohio. Going in there were four guys who didn't respond when I said hello and continued with their conversation. I thought maybe they hadn't heard me so I just went ahead looking through the selection. I'm not a big drinker so I felt pretty lost and felt like I was intruding to ask for any help. I finally decided on what to get and going to the front counter, only one employee looked up but didn't say anything or even approach the cash register after seeing me there. If I hadn't been too busy to go anywhere else, I would have left the items on the counter and gone somewhere else. The whole transaction made me feel like I was intruding on their conversation by trying to buy items, the whole time none of them said a single word to me but continued with a decently vulgar conversation as if I wasn't there. They never even checked my ID and I'm newly 21 so that felt very weird to me as well. I was really disappointed in my experience here and wish I would have just gone to Marc's, Charlie's, or even Giant eagle. I'm sad to write a less than enthusiastic review of Rozi's but the situation warrants some truth and a warning for others. I have loved and supported this Lakewood business and a few years back they added a lovely patio. However their recent special event left me sad and feeling that they misrepresented -- or more likely severely oversold -- a recent special event: Rozi's 1st Annual Sparkling Wine/Champagne Spectacular. Rozi's offers wine and beer tastings and dinners most months and we've always wanted to go but just haven't. We do shop here regularly & stop for a drink on the patio so it was an easy decision when looking for a special event to shell out $70 bucks for a couple of tickets for a champagne tasting. We were super excited buying tickets early and stopped by earlier in the week of the event to ask more about the set-up since it was sold-out. We wanted to optimize our experience and he said to drop by anytime during the event that it would be very nice with tables set-up. We thought they meant both tasting tables and tables for ticketed We walked down to find the store was PACKED and no room to move. I can't believe that the fire code was met because we were like sardines + it was blazing hot in the store. We arrived at 3:15 for this 3-6 pm event and left at 4:45 and it was a terrible use of time and money. While there we eventually snagged one seat at a 2-top on their small patio and took turns sitting. The patio was their only seating & once folks had a spot they stayed there for the entire event -- no shame in that, we'd all do the same. In our 90-minutes there we managed to get only 3 tastes and a small plate of sub-par appetizers. The lines were so long making it difficult to even get tastes and less than enjoyable. It easily took 10-min of waiting to get just one taste and even longer to wait the line for the food table. We basically spent 45 minutes just waiting in line for what was prob was would would have be a few dollars of food and tastes anywhere. We had so wanted to try most of the champagne offerings but clearly that could not happen and we were lucky to manage our 3 tastes. The vendors did their best but because it was so crowded they didn't have time to even take questions or tell about what they had to taste. The print program provided by Rozi's included only the vineyard name and the cost for a bottle but lacked tasting notes or info to compensate for the vendors not having time for education. And Rozi's said there would be swag handed out but that wasn't the case. Anyway, if you are thinking of a attending a ticketed special event here I'd rethink your plan. Save your money and instead stop by and enjoy a drink or two on Rozi's patio another time. Rozi's missed the mark on this and owed attendees at least an apology. Event advertising: "We will have 20+ different sparkling wines & Champagnes to sample from. We hope to procure a few rare wines for the event, and have a bunch of swag to hand out as well. We will also have quite the food menu to pair off with the sparkling wines and champagnes." read more

When the name of a place had Wine House in the title, expectations are that the wine selection would be top notch. I was surprised to find 1/4 of their retail space dedicated to pre-made gift baskets covered in dust, wine knick knacks, wooden baskets, and other gift like items for the home. I'm not coming to a Wine House to buy jam or pepper spread, I'm coming to buy wine, so why would I want dusty pre-made baskets that look like there from the 1970's? After passing by the gift basket area, the wine selection was mainly just against one wall. The organization of the wine was lacking and I was annoyed that in order to find the price I needed to pick up every bottle and try to read the hand written chicken scratch on the back of each bottle. We are in the 21st century and price tags seem appropriate especially when trying to find wine that would fit my budget. I found myself picking up $20 bottles as well as $100 bottles just trying to find something with the price point I wanted. One glance in our direction and one could easily assess that we were first time shoppers at the store. Two men were in the middle of the store behind the counter talking to each other and never once offered to help with the store layout or offering up any wine recommendations. It's not often I can say that no one offered to assist me but it's true at Rozi's Wine House. Most of their space was dedicated to a decent beer selection on the other side of the room. As Cara L. stated "They should change the name to Rozi's Beer House". You could even create your own Six Pack with the variety of bottles laid out on the shelves. We opted to create our own after seeing the abysmal wine selection and chose six local Colorado Beers (prices written on the back of the bottles). Their staff are more than willing to help you find something that works for you and have absolutely no judgement if you don't know everything about wine. There's a small bar inside that serves a rotating selection of wines for you to sample and enjoy on their quaint outdoor patio. I love Rozi's. I've been a loyal customer for over four years. The establishment is VERY large with cool decor. They also have an awesome patio that's perfect for summer and fall drinking. Rozi's has a great selection of wine and beer but that's not the best part. Rozi's hosts wine and beer tasting about once a month. The price is usually $25 but that's isn't bad for all you can drink. I cannot say enough nice things about the Rozi staff. I had to buy local wine for an event and one of the associates talked me through all the local wines they had. Not only that, he also helped describe the different flavor profiles based off of Cleveland weather. Not knowing my budget he recommended the cheaper wine options and even helped me come up with the perfect mixture of wines for the event. Not having the ability to try any of the wines, he was able to help me pick a mixture of dry and sweet to please the wide range of audiences. The wine ended up being the show stopper at the event! Perfect flavor profile choices. Beyond that, the store is set up in a way that is not only easy to navigate but also easy to find exactly what you are looking for to make your wine drinking wonderful. Great Lakes rep lamenting (in a friendly way) my choosing to buy Storm King Imperial Stout over any of his offerings? Check. Large cold case full of a range of friendly, delicious Belgian and Trappist ales? Check. Rochefort 10 specifically? Check. Typical pricing on all of these wonderful but pricey beers? Check. Not that I could even hope to ever find fine fermented delights on the cheap, but one can dream. I originally came to Rozi's due to the fact that they, like many Cleveland-area and regional wine shops, carry a fine assortment of ice wines. Gradually, as my imbibing horizons widened, I came to realize that their beer selection is pretty healthy, as well. Outside of the previously noted (and celebrated, celebrated, celebrated) Belgian and Trappist imports, they also carry a wide variety of domestics and micro-brews (as well as home-brewing supplies, if you're into that sort of thing). It's the kind of wine/beer shop that, if it was in my hometown, I'd probably spend a pretty decent amount of time in, perusing the shelves and trying many a new brew. A pretty decent little shop with a pretty decent selection. "Pretty decent" works across the board as a description for Rozi's, actually - not the best place I've ever been to, but clean, with friendly, knowledgable staff who will let you roam in peace, and Rochefort 10. I am an unabashed beer fan and drinker. I'm a homebrewer, and given the choice, I'd drink beer at every meal (and I have). Thankfully, Rozi's is here to help those willing to go to a wine store for beer. The selection has grown steadily the last two years, and they keep a selection of Ohio beers, for those of us who like to keep it a little more local, as well as a great selection of Belgian and international beers for those of us who like to keep it a little different. Recently, they've even followed the trend of adding growler fills, as well. Nothing says love like a gallon of beer, friends. My one complaint: Organization. Here is this huge space, and it's both empty and cluttered as well. There aren't very many clear walking lanes, or clear paths from the back door to the register. I think they could use the space to their advantage a little better, and maybe even add in a bit more of a tasting area. That said, the wooden floors throughout are wonderful, and the store is always, always clean. If you're in Lakewood, and it's early enough (okay, another tiny complaint: I'd love for them to stay open later, since Simone's and the Mini Mart get a bit crowded as time goes by) get over to Rozi's, and just look around. From the outside, they're rated in the top 30 of best beer selection in the world ?! Yeah, right, I thought. Well, they're right, this is probably the best beer selection that I've seen in Cleveland, and is a close second that I've ever seen, next to Tiffany's in Kalamazoo, Michigan. However, this honor is for the the quality of their beer selection not the quantity. This is a beer snob's beer store. If you appreciate beer more than just bud and miller, then Rozi's is for you. While the quantity of beers that they have is not very large - about at least 6 to 8 coolers, their beer selection, primarily beers from Europe, including special sections devoted to Belgians and Russians, is a sight to behold. There's even a devoted shelf for sour beers. I agree with Murray, the number of beers there is may be less than Simone's but there's more rarer beers here. You can also buy singles here as well, breaking up the six-packs, score. In addition to their European beers, there's a large selection of microbrews from the USA and Mexico, including founders, Stone, dogfish, left hand, Buckeye, and a full line of Goose Island [I didn't know Goose Island makes special four packs]. There's also a selection of home brewing supplies including yeasts, hops, bottle caps, and buckets. They also sell kegs of microbrews *******note to future CM: keep this in mind for future elite events, thanks ********** if you ever want to binge drink in style. It's September, which means Halloween officially starts for me yesterday. I rode the hog(huffy) down to the library for some spooky cd's and stopped by Rozi's for pumpkin or autumnal beer. Ended up getting the Brooklyn Oktoberfest and Post Rd pumpkin(also Brooklyn). Yeah, they're not exactly the rarest of beers to find, but the location and saving a trip to the superhellhole really made my day. Just the browsing itself was awesome. They have Joe Charbonneau beer. For those not in the know, he was a Cleveland Indians star in the making, then just sucked after his rookie year. That and other local brews are for sale. Most of the stuff was too rich for my blood alcohol. Lots of American micro-brews, not so many imports. Simone's is the place for imports. The staff was way friendly, even to a scruffy looking dude with a backpack. Said backpack was used to carry all the goodness home papoose-style on my lap so none of it fell out all over Warren rd. Not enough to turn me away though. The store itself is nice looking, with a wood cabin, sort of rustic feel. Pick your poison, there's quite a selection for everyone. I was here for beer and was pleased with the variety I had to choose from. I really liked that you could build your own 6 packs here. I like to experiment with new beer, so this is something fun for me, because you could grab a few bottles of something new without having to buy a whole 6 or 12 pack of a new beer you might not like.
